My time at this company was unfortunately very negative. The workplace culture is highly toxic and unprofessional. Senior management frequently yells, swears, and humiliates employees in front of others, creating an atmosphere of fear rather than collaboration. Respect and proper communication are seriously lacking at all levels.

The company tends to hire individuals who are waiting for their permanent residency status, seemingly to exploit their situation by offering below market salaries and limited growth opportunities. This practice contributes to resentment and burnout among staff.

Bullying and teasing are common, and there’s little to no accountability for such behavior. Instead of fostering teamwork, the environment encourages division and insecurity.

Unsurprisingly, the turnover rate is extremely high. Many employees leave within a few months due to the constant stress, lack of respect, and absence of leadership support.

Overall, this is not a healthy or sustainable place to work. I would strongly caution anyone who values professionalism, stability, and respect to think carefully before joining.

What is the best part of working at the company?
My time at ETG was frustrating overall. Management was disorganized, with poor communication and unclear direction. Issues were often ignored instead of resolved, and there was little transparency in decisions.

Workloads were uneven, and employee concerns were not taken seriously. There was no proper training provided, so you were expected to be on your toes from day one. I was also yelled at by management, and at times employment felt threatened, which created a very uncomfortable environment. There were instances of sudden firings without notice, making job security feel unstable.

Overall, the experience was negative due to poor leadership, lack of accountability, and minimal employee support.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
The most stressful part of the job was the constant uncertainty and pressure from management.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
The work environment was tense and uncomfortable. There was a lack of support from management, and communication was poor, which made daily work more difficult than it needed to be.

Being a key player in this industry, you could expect a fast paced environment bundled with high pressure to deliver on daily tasks or even yearly quotas, regardless of the department you're in. 

Because of this, one may find itself overwhelmed at first or even if you've been with the company long enough. However, I would say that it pushes you to be more resourceful and at times, highly anxious but you'll definitely grow and learn. 

Though career advancement or promotions are not common, you might find yourself demotivated at times as you feel like you've worked your butt off but eventually going nowhere. 

Often times, it feels like employees are working for their own interests and not for the common interest of the company. In turn, this makes a lot of processes inefficient which then turns to missed opportunities. 

If you want to learn and grow professionally, ETG is a great company to sharpen your skills. However, don't expect the company to give you what you think you deserve. It will give you what it thinks you deserve. 

I'm writing to express my gratitude for the invaluable experience and support I received during my time at ETG. The knowledge and skills I acquired while interning with ETG have played a pivotal role in my professional career. 

I am truly grateful for the guidance, mentorship, and exposure to the field of accounting that I received while working at ETG.

I wanted to express my deepest appreciation for the support and encouragement I received from ETG. Everyone took me in as their own, and taught me valuable lessons in the workplace while fostering a nurturing environment. The knowledge I gained and the relationships I formed during my internship have been invaluable, and I will always cherish the experience.

ETG has provided me with the opportunity to be part of such a supportive organization that has significantly contributed to my professional growth.

ETG Commodities have ups and downs. 
If you want a challenging workplace, this is ideal as there's lot of opportunities to grow. If you are able to land on a great manager, then you'd definitely move up and develop helpful skills and learnings. 

We all know stress is inevitable when it comes to work though at this company, it pretty much lands to you being on your own, I've seen employees getting burnt out so much and couldn't do anything about it. Management somehow doesn't know limitations, they will make you stay longer at work, they will call you on your off days and etc. I hope the management learns how to allocate their time and resources wisely. 

Turnover is really high at this company thus causing inconsistency when it comes to work. Culture might need some work as well. 

Overall, take the risk if you feel so. I just hope something changes in this company as some workers and managers are worth the respect and definitely a good place to develop career (somehow!)

It’s a job until you find something better. The pay is too low for what you do, the work is usually very monotonous. You are only allowed a 1/2 hour unpaid lunch break and no other breaks. After sitting down to eat for 10 minutes, dirty looks are shot your way hinting for you to get back to work. You get little to no chance of overtime, which is the least they could allow due to the very low pay. Most coworkers were good guys but management is rough. Turnover is very high. It’s nothing to end up having someone leave randomly never to return and then you have to work even harder. The workplace had such low morale and it was just a toxic environment in general. Got a much better opportunity elsewhere and gave my notice and got out of there and never looked back. 

Etg is a very toxic environment. The average day is getting yelled at by management and your employment threatened. There is no coordination between management and employee's as to what is expected. Employees are constantly set up for failure with poorly maintained equipment and lack of support from management.  Raises for experienced employees are few and far between often resulting in experienced employees being payed less than the inexperienced/unqualified new foreign employees. Hard work at ETG is not rewarded. New hires do not receive proper training resulting in an unsafe environment. Do not work here unless you want to be miserable and constantly stressed.

Very poorly organized and still operating as if they are in the 90s. Most of the management team doesn’t have the experience.

Turnover is great. Bad culture, the culture of fear.

The HR is claiming that there is a “Professional Development Program in place for all of our employees where they are encouraged to seek out training for the betterment of their skills and abilities”. A total lie!! 
During my first week, I was trained by my predecessor who was leaving that week. Since then zero guidance or zero so-called “Professional Development Program”.

I spent a couple of months in this company and decided to leave.
During this short period of time in their main office in Mississauga, more than half of the employees left and I was told that this bleeding had started a long time before I came. 
They simply don't believe and trust their employees. Don't dream of training, you'll never get it.
I don’t know how this company is still afloat as there is no organization, no process, no procedure... Just to give an example the receptionist became logistics manager and HR manager became trader... A total mess!!

There’s no ERP. Planning is done by a shared Excel sheet where everyone save with errors. VPN is ridiculous poor and slow so work cannot be done remotely. IT eventually fix issues after 3 hours on the phone which is not considered as part of your day. Most shocking was seeing colleagues crying on desk disappointed for lack of resources to accomplish daily tasks. Without procedures in place, planning cannot be done properly. It’s a toxic work environment.
