Eagles Nest Youth Ranch

I have had the pleasure of working at Eagles Nest Youth Ranch for quite some time now, and I can confidently say that it has been an incredible experience. The company not only provides various recreational activities like swimming, fishing, playing at the park, sports, and camping, but also offers them in a fun and enjoyable manner. 

One aspect that truly stands out about this company is the amazing sense of camaraderie and friendship among the staff members. From my manager to the Youth Care Leaders (YCL's) and even my fellow colleagues at the same level, everyone has been incredibly supportive and welcoming. It's not just a workplace; it feels like a family.

Furthermore, the management team, including the director, has impressed me with their level of dedication and approachability. No matter what level an employee is at, they are always willing to take time out of their day to have meaningful conversations and check in on how things are going. This level of care and connection has created an environment where each employee feels valued and heard.

Additionally, one of the perks of working at Eagles Nest Youth Ranch is the provision of free food. This is a great bonus, as it ensures that employees are well-nourished and can focus on creating memorable experiences for the children and young adults they serve.

Lastly, the overall work environment at Eagles Nest Youth Ranch is one of joy and fulfillment. Being able to engage in recreational activities while also positively impacting the lives of youth is incredibly rewarding. Each day feels like an opportunity to make a difference and be a part of something meaningful.

In conclusion, I highly recommend working at Eagles Nest Youth Ranch. The combination of enjoyable activities, supportive colleagues, caring management, and the chance to make a positive impact on young lives creates a truly exceptional work experience.


A typical day at work is getting kids up and ready for school, doing house chores as well as making meals for the kids, doing planned activities that the staff have made up, such as skiing, camping, fishing, and bowling.
I have learned that keeping a positive attitude makes the work environment make the workplace more enjoyable.
The management is good, if there are any problems they get dealt with as soon as possible.
Many of the co-workers work well together, I enjoy their company.
The hardest part of the job is having altercations with the kids.
The most enjoyable part of the job is knowing that at the end of the day you feel that you have helped the kids by being there for them.

Was a youth care worker, horrible agency. A lot of nepotism in the management (Exec directors son in law is a manager for example)
very toxic and catty atmosphere at all houses. 
Retaliation is expected within the agency and management solves problems by "talking"
They promote advocating for youth in the handbook but retaliate against those who actually do.
Youth are rarely the issue with the agency as it is mostly other staff.
And they lie for each other, especially the sr staff.
Management has poor self reflection issues which is a huge cause for turnover
Very political and the agency will make you question your morals but the job is good if you keep your head down.
Best part of the job was working with the youth.

A typical day at work would be starting the day with getting the youth up and ready for school or daily activities, taking youth to appointments or activities.  Some mornings were smooth with no issues and others were full of chaos and crisis.  My co-workers were professional and liked to have fun with the kids and that made the stressful times more manageable.  The most difficult and challenging part of the job was the crisis and livelong challenges they faced due to their individual circumstances or situations. 
The management team is extremely supportive and encouraging in regards to the staff and the youth.

Completely rewarding to learn about the struggles overcome in the daily lives of troubled Youth, majority of First Nations decent.  Building bonds as well as structure with the team, as well as children under my supervision was paramount and such a large professional and personal lesson to draw from.

Constant setbacks, physical attacks, as well as constant changing of managerial structure made it a difficult task for staff to continue to provide the stability required for the Youth in our care.  Stress levels were high, the rewards in cases of improvement were even higher.

Eagles Nest is a really great company to work for. They offer casual, part-time, and full-time positions. There is lots of time off in-between sets. The time off in between sets makes it easy to do self-care and/or work a second job. The overall company culture is amazing. Highly recommend working here! There is excellent programming and recreational opportunities for the kids. If you are looking for dynamic, energizing, and fun place to work Eagles Nest is the place.

-Working with the youth never gets old, there is something new and interesting every day, you aren't likely to ever be bored.

Typical day at work started off with checking up on high risk youths. Checked to see if medications were administered and how their day was at school. I learned alot about how much parental support can impact a youths life. The workplace culture was very interesting. Different kids from different paths of life were administered into the care home. Each had different setbacks and it was our job to make sure these kids have a bright future and are well taken care of. The satisfaction i received knowing i made a difference in a youths life was the most enjoyable part.

Communication and support for the job role is non existent.  The pay and expectations don’t align for all that actually have to deal with on a daily basis.  They don’t actually look after these kids, just keep collecting money for them. Seen in many homes where kids don’t have enough clothes, need haircuts, and have lice and is not dealt with properly. Certain management really needs to look at their role and how they treat people. This place goes through a lot of staff and there is no security in the job.

Long 12 hrs, most of the bosses and pms and supervisors are all family

The kids run a lot, very aggressive and rude toward their peers and elders

There is none, just a lot of broken kids and familys
