I worked at East Mahogany Dental for just over 7 months, and my experience was incredibly frustrating. The owners had constant disagreements, which made it extremely difficult to manage the practice effectively. Their lack of communication and understanding between each other led to confusion and inconsistency, creating a disorganized work environment where decisions were often delayed or unclear.
The owners also had a troubling habit of blaming former employees for nearly every issue in the office, including the supposed lack of training for new staff. This is completely false. During my time there, we made every effort to train new hires thoroughly, but instead of addressing their own management shortcomings, the owners chose to deflect responsibility onto those who had already left.
On top of this, the owners' behavior was often mean-spirited. They spoke ill of current staff behind their backs, fostering a toxic atmosphere where negativity and criticism were common. This lack of professionalism and respect made it even harder to stay motivated and productive.
The workload was overwhelming. Tasks were constantly added, and the systems in place only made processes more complicated. Rather than streamlining work, these systems caused constant backups, increasing stress and making day-to-day tasks far more difficult. It felt like no matter how hard we worked, the expectations kept growing without consideration for employee well-being.
To make matters worse, I was regularly messaged after hours and on days off, with the owners criticizing my work or expecting tasks to be completed outside of my scheduled time. This constant intrusion into personal time caused significant stress at home, making it impossible to disconnect from the job.
Even after leaving, former employees are slandered and unfairly blamed for issues that had nothing to do with them. The owners' refusal to take responsibility for their own failures only compounds the dysfunction within the practice.
If you're considering working here, be prepared for extreme workloads, constant after-hours communication, lack of clear direction due to ongoing disagreements between the owners, and the very real possibility of being blamed for problems that aren’t your fault. The toxic culture, lack of support, and poor management make it a difficult place to succeed.


As a Dental Associate at East Mahogany Dental, I can genuinely say this has been one of the best career decisions I've ever made. From day one, the entire team has made me feel welcome, supported, and valued. The clinic has a fantastic culture, with a shared commitment to providing high-quality patient care, and it’s truly been an amazing environment to grow professionally.

Management & Leadership: The leadership at EMD is truly exceptional. The practice owners and managers are approachable, fair, and transparent. They have a clear vision for the clinic’s growth and are always open to feedback. It’s rare to find an environment where leadership genuinely listens to and values your input.

Overall: Working at EMD has been an incredibly rewarding experience. It's a place where I feel both professionally fulfilled and personally happy. I look forward to coming to work every day, knowing that I'm part of an amazing team that makes a real difference in our patients' lives. 

This is the nicest dental clinic I’ve ever seen. As you look around, you see all these little touches that are well-thought through and purposeful. The reason I mention this first is that I think that it’s easy for people to see the care that went into the office itself and that is a good visual articulation of the care that goes into all of the decisions that run the clinic on a daily basis.

The dentists are all relatively young, so they bring youthful energy to the clinic and they’re all really easy to get along with. The office manager is great too—very knowledgeable and kind. The rest of the staff gets along well and is quite friendly.

The office is newer (about 3 years) but they’re growing and it’s a great time to get on board.  Mahogany is a bit far for me living downtown, but I’m always going the opposite direction of traffic, so I usually have a pretty stress-free commute.

This is a good clinic, that you can be proud to work at. They have high expectations of staff, but if you can deliver you will be recognized and rewarded. If you take pride in working in the industry (which you should) and you’re looking for an opportunity to prove yourself, this will be a good fit for you.

Very high turnover rate amongst staff.
very little appreciation from management ever shown towards any staff. Consistent nitpicking from management. Each task you do will be over complicated by management forcing you to do a multitude of micro tasks a long the way.
Management claims they are tired of babysitting junior staff but continues to hire inexperienced employees & expect them to be able to withstand the load of managements extremely unattainable expectations. Overall, poor management with little appreciation for their staff. The rest of their team however is amazing and are very hard workers. 

Coworkers were fun to work with however management was overbearing and can never be pleased. Every day is a lecture about what you did wrong, not much encouragement and a lot of micromanaging. Also you are constantly expected to give up your lunch to accommodate patients. Office is nicely put together, poor hours and hours are constantly being cut due to lack of patients, no guarantee of hours either. Pay was decent, little no benefits.
