The community culture at Edenbridge is very welcoming but the management is severely disorganized. The turnover rates for supervisors has been incredibly high as the company seems to continuously take on more than they can chew. Little is done in the way of improvement (even during COVID they still wouldn’t switch to direct deposit despite the risk associated with all employees having to come in to pick up paycheques). Lack of communication among management has caused me to be written up unjustly because my supervisor did not pass along relevant information to the rest of the team. 
Pay is minimum wage (15/hour) with no potential of increase at any point, even though the standard FSCD rate for aides through an organization is $19/hour, so I’m not sure where the rest of that money is going. For the type of work you are doing, it is not a minimum wage job and to date I have never seen an organization pay so little. The majority of clients I have worked with through Edenbridge have been dissatisfied and frustrated by the lack of organization and communication with parents regarding services. Kids are on wait lists for months because of the lack of employees, which I can’t help but believe is a result of the poor compensation.
It’s a relaxed environment, flexible hours, and you work very independently but I would really recommend seeking employment at one of the many other disability services organizations in Lethbridge. And if you know someone looking to find respite, especially in children’s services, I would definitely steer them somewhere more reliable.

Edenbridge is actively involved in the community, advocating for disability rights and creating opportunities for inclusion. Their outreach programs and partnerships are commendable efforts to raise awareness and promote equity. Management continues to Introduce more incentives, such as career advancement opportunities and enhanced benefits, in addition to modernizing systems and processes to  streamline employee’s duties benefiting both staff and clients.

Not organized at all. They do not solve issues... rather they shove them off to the side and nothing gets dealt with. A requirement is First Aid which they make you pay for ($160.00 x 2.) The supervisors are not organized nor at the TL's. Residential houses are too strict. They never point out the good you do. They are slow. 
They don't have benefits. They use old cheques. NEVER offer you more work... you have to pester them for more and they get angry at you when you do so.
They expect you to drop everything that you are doing to do something for them and if you say no they aren't understanding. Rude front office staff (except for G, she is fantastic... the other one is VERY snotty and unprofessional. )
They prefer foreign workers but treat them not very well.

Don't work here. Apply somewhere else... please.
If you want a career being a support worker, go elsewhere.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
The work environment is safe and well managed.  Culture at Edenbridge is welcoming and very accepting. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Wake up early, cook, wash, clean, walk,eat, rest,sleep.

 There is a variety of people you can work with, some are more complex than others - definitely a learning experience where every day can be different. The pay is definitely more competitive for complex vs non complex where pay isn't much more than min wage. 
They now have direct deposit which was nice to finally see. 
All in all, a great entry level job. I saw many people work there way up to office level positions while I worked there so it does seem like there is some room for growth if you stick around long enough. 

Edenbridge is the type of company where the hardest part of the job is the lack of moving up in the company.

You are seen more as body than an individual, and the communication is the area where the biggest breakdowns take place.

Overall not the worst place to work, but it is more of a temporary/transitional type position where you must keep looking forward onto something better and more fulfilling.

Definitely a job and not a career

Great place to work, sure no benefits but I've worked at plenty of other places with no benefits, 1/2 the staff have their own anyways.  I watched a few staff work their way into the office. They provide a lot of training and I've have met many staff who have worked there for many years because they enjoy it there.  I sure am glad they gave me the opportunity!

I worked with 1:1 with kids all summer, activities were rarely well organized, employees are not respected, and if your kid doenst show up, you often lose out on work, hours are unreliable and even if guaranteed full time it will rarely work out that way. Lower management tires their hardest with what they’re given, upper management seems to be not helpful at all

The wages are very low than the work expectations. In case of any mistake done by the staff, they'll be send back to probation period which I don't think that's fair no matter how many years you've been working there.

This is a great place to start your career in human services. They have lots of opportunities for growth, and paid training. As long as you do your job well there is room for advancement. The easier jobs with non complex clients don't pay much more than minimum wage, but wage is fair for more complex clients.
