Absolutely the worst welding shop I have ever worked at. The actual work is very easy, it doesn't take any level of skill to perform.  Be prepared to spend large amounts of time welding on your knees. The cranes , rigging and welders are all garbage and they buy the cheapest consumables imaginable, utter trash.  Management is ok, but they really don't care about you pr any problems you may be having at home. The welding "Superintendent" on day shift is so unqualified for that position that it's almost criminal.  The Night shift Superintendent is ok but again not really anyone who should be in charge of people.   Work here only until something else comes up and then drop them like a bad habit.

The management and dayshift shows absolutely no respect for the night shift. Guys tend to try and throw each other under the bus. There are leaders in place on the day crew that have no buisness being in any position of power. Night shift is great. Good leadership, and good crew.

Has potential to be a really good place to work if some simple changes were made. 

The work is good. Pay is good. Safe working conditions. Weld supervisor on days is excellent and tries hard to bring out the best in people. Good crew with lots of long-term guys and girls. Was offered a lead hand role after a year of proving myself. Busy shop with lots of work going on. Definitely would work there again if I move back to Alberta.

Management will ask questions behind your back to everyone. Lie to your face on what to expect, very contradictory and if you question them your pretty much fired. Can’t be bothered to train you. Most ppl are there until for Mac opens up.

Ellis has been a great workplace for many years. There is an atmosphere of hard work while striving to treat each other respectfully that comes right from the top.  I genuinely enjoy both my co-workers and the diverse tasks that we take on.

Fast paced, friendly, and energetic work place.  Great group of people to work for and with.  Family owned and owner ensures he know all his staff.  Not a lot of room for advancement but the work environment made up for it.

Good work atmosphere with a lot of long term employees that genuinely care about the company and communicate well with each other. 

Diverse range of work, new projects, and lots of chances to learn. 

The work in its self can be challenging but rewarding with complex attachments. It's a high production shop so you work in a fast paced environment with little training

Good fun steady work with a group that is able to lend a helping hand when need be. Management and staff are professional and helpful

Terrible company to work for. Terrible pay, Long days and no room for advancement. Will tell you one thing and then go ahead and do the exact opposite.
