This is a factory - it smells, there are temperature extremes, and there is a very physical demand on the body.  However, if you are willing to work, learn, train, and grow, there are plenty of opportunities to advance.
Management on all shifts is different.  Your experience will reflect your shift, some positive and some not so much.  However, the staff you will be working with are good, helpful when asked, and willing to train when asked.  In other words, don't sit back waiting, get in the mix and show initiative.
Fair pay and quick advancement for those willing to learn and put in the effort. 
Quarterly bonuses both for cost of inflation adjustments and performance.
Employee perks are paid lunchbreaks, straight shifts, and no mandatory overtime.  During summer it gets hot, but heat breaks are granted during extreme temperatures, there are normally freezies in the lunchroom and water fountains all around the plant.
It's a small town so there is definitely some nepotism within the work place.  You will find cliques but I think that is the same anywhere.  It's a matter of finding "your" group.
Bottom line is this:  If you are willing to work you will do just fine.  It's physically demanding, and in some cases in harsh conditions, but overall it's a good place to work.  There is a high turnover in some departments due to the demands, but many of those people were not prepared for the workload.  Show initiative, be involved and you will do fine.

A typical day at work is steady, they will always find you work to do even during our slow season. 
Sometimes you can be offered “lack of work” days which is nice but it’s voluntary. 

I’ve learned a lot while working at EPP, I didn’t have any previous factory work experience but they gave me a chance. After almost 2 years of working here, I’ve learned a lot about machinery, I throughly enjoy working with the machines and learning new set ups and getting more machine sign offs. Bonus, you’ll get a raise with sign offs for lines! 

Management for afternoons can definitely communicate better, but I like to give them the benefit of the doubt since the foreperson is newer to the job on afternoons. 

Workplace culture can be drama and toxic if you get involved with the wrong person, but mostly everyone is just there to do their job and go home. Don’t get wrapped up in the theatrics. 

The hardest part of the job is definitely the heat, it can get really hot in the plant during the summer, so make sure to make use of the water fountains and heat breaks that they provide during the humid months. 

The most enjoyable part of the job is definitely the people you get to know, after all work is what you make of it! You can make good work friends and have alot of laughs if you come in as yourself, show up and just do the work. 


This is a terrible place to work unless you hate yourself. They say they are about "family" and "safety" but that could not be further from the truth. Mangagement does not care about its employees. I have worked here for 5 years and i actually enjoyed my job in the beginning. But coming into the same depressing atmosphere following the same lazy shift starts to drain you mentally. I actually enjoy my job here but the lack of caring from employees and the non chalant/ non caring attitude from the plant manager/management when these issues are brought up has killed my want to continue to stay here. The plant manager is honestly one of the worst people to be in his position. He never knows what is going on and has no backbone and takes whatever guff the employees give him. If youre in packaging they expect you to work as fast as a robot and be happy about it. Everyone fights amongst shifts which is ridiculous since we all work for the same company. Honestly this entire company needs a management overhaul. I love my job but the people above me are making my life sad and depressing. If you hate your life or want to, apply at EPP today... This company is a joke


A Great place to work!
Coworkers are dedicated to training new hires and helping other success everyday. People are willing to take the time to show you what is expected of you and how to do it including your paperwork.
Nothing we do is worth getting hurt, they really care about safety at epp and will write you up if they catch you being unsafe.
We get 5 minute heat breaks in the summer
The maintenance team is fast and effective and helpful
Supervisors do they best to make sure that everyone on the team is placed with people they get along with and are working to the best of they ability. 
Elmira pet products is the best factory I've worked for. They really care about their employee's and They are willing to give you time to learn your job. When you bring up a problem or something that needs changing they work on it to fix it. Upper management keeps us in the loop and ask for feedback and ideas for the future. 



Elmira Pet Products offers a clean and organized work environment with a strong focus on safety and training. New employees receive proper training before being expected to handle tasks independently, which helps build confidence and consistency in the job.

The team is generally supportive, and the work is steady. However, one area that could be improved is the rotation between production lines. Some workers are repeatedly assigned to the most physically demanding lines, while others get easier tasks more often. This uneven distribution can affect morale and long-term job satisfaction.

Overall, it's a solid place to gain manufacturing experience, especially if you're willing to work hard — but a fair line rotation system would make the environment more balanced and positive for everyone.


I recently left after 1 year and 3-4 months roughly, the people on ground level some of the best people I’ve worked with, management is a joke the plant manager is a joke, he tried to make me a deal, and I took it and when I asked about it he looked me square in the face and said I never said that, and it’s only between you and him so it’s not like you can stand up for yourself at all, your not paid nearly what you should for the amount of physical work you have to do, they breath down your neck about attendances they came down on me for rushing to the hospital to get there for a family death, all in all I just highly recommend if you can find somewhere else to work if you can and save yourself from the nonsense that I had to deal with please!

Great company to work for if you are a dedicated person to your job and performance. Company bonus incentives and benefits are the perfect addition to a well rounded job. Don't let the negative reviews shy you away from what could be a very rewarding career. 10+ year employee with little to no complaints. It is what you make it. No job is glorious, it can be hot, it can be cold. Showing up to work with a good attitude can make or break your experience here. If you are willing to learn, there are people her that are willing to teach. Plenty of room for advancement and can be a very welcoming and rewarding for the right candidate that is willing to put in the work to learn the processes.

Most people were good. I was partnered with someone who flat out refused to show me how to do things and then blames me for things. Said I didn’t want to learn.  Thankfully he’s retiring. Management was alright. Pretty relaxed. There is one boss who yells but I think that’s just so they can be heard. Don’t take it personally. Owner seems like a good dude. My experience was alright for the most part. My biggest complaint was the guy they paired me with. Other than that, it’s not bad. I’ve worked at way worse places.
