If you like to be constantly stressed out and run raged from managers that don't know what they are doing, than this is the place for you.  Horrible communication, stressful environment, you can never do enough different jobs to make anyone satisfied.  Be prepared to do jobs outside of your hired area, and pushed jobs onto you that other kiss-ups don't have to do.  If you aren't in the "click", then expect every day to be a bad day.  Don't expect to be paid overtime on the management side, because that just doesn't happen.  Pay is good depending on management position.  Production floor is a union environment.  Pay there is good on the floor once you get seniority days in (15 to start, 17 an hour after 60 working days, continues to go up to top wage in 6 years).  Pension is good, benefits are very good.  There are a lot of good people there that really care, but the ones that lead will not respect you and your suggestions or hear what you have to say.  Your are a number and are replaceable (See "click" statement above).  Also, they like to change your shift (some management positions) with no reason, and usually no notice.  Union jobs are a little more structured, but the leader there is weak too, so don't expect much support.  Union is rotated shifts every two weeks, management.....depends on the job.  Overall, if you are a person having trouble while making minimum wage, then apply only if you can handle the stress and repetitive environment, the production floor would be good for you.  But if you are not, than don't give up something decent for this place.  The grass is defiantly not greener on the other side of the fence.  There is a lot of potential for growth through new product, but with the current management, the future doesn't look good.  That place needs an upper management clean out and overhaul if it is going to succeed.  Constant turnover because people get sick of the overall environment and atmosphere. If you are not an alcoholic, you will be if you decide to take a position here for a long period of time.  A better chance of keeping your sanity if you choose the production floor, but all repetitive tasks and your leaders are idiots.

Great pay and benefits.  Great potential to be a world class workplace but there are 3 old managers there who are holding back any progress we try to make.  Once these upper management open their minds and accept the new and maybe even try to contribute to improving the workplace, then  and only then can we move forward.  These 3 managers are a few years away from retiring and for all intents and purposes, they are already retired, so to speak.  The general manager never ever even comes out to the production floor to see for himself how things are going.  He cut out a few key positions in the organization to save money (operations manager, mold tech supervisor, document clerk just to name a few), because of this,  many valuable tasks and important documents are not being updated or completed at all.  The extra tasks are being dumped on the rest of the employees and the whole organization is suffering.  It is obvious these 3  will never change so maybe they need to be gone.  There has been so much turnover in the place in the past 5 years, all because of these 3 managers.  It's time for big changes or else this place won't make it.

Can't keep ones job past probation period because there is always someone out to get you from the union. They have zero reason to let you go but they always find something. I was there 3 weeks with a good working review from all the shift supervisors but was terminated for forgetting to punch in one day when I was working the whole day and I missed one day because I was sick. HR is definitely not the greatest there. I asked hr why I was let go and they couldn't even answer the question. All that was put on my roe was terminated within probation period...Good luck staying past probation...

Everybody do what they are told.  No inputs on improvement of process(es).  And because this company is union,  some workers with seniority think they have more privileges than others.  Also they can be a little racists, especially the supervisors.  They give the minority (Asian) workers all the hard and dirty jobs and all the Caucasian workers the inspection jobs.

It's a great place and I learned a lot working here. Working and gaining practical exposure on the machines with experienced engineers does mean lot to me. New technologies and it's application is also one good point to work in automotive related unit

This is a good place to work, people are easy-going, management is open to talk,  the salaries are above the average. Very clean and organized.
Pleasant workplace.

I liked working there doing quality inspection. we were able to sit and talk with one another which is a really great bonus for those of us who need to have constant mental stimulation.

Some jobs they expect you to do to much. With little help or training..supervisors don't understand that you just started as if you have been there for years.

I enjoy working here because I get to do many different jobs. It's not just one particular job day in and day out. The hours are steady. Holidays are paid.

At Elringklinger management yells and screams in your face everyday. I also watched Elringklinger hire multiple people keep them for 58 days and terminate everybody they hired so they couldn't get into the union
