Embassy Suites by Hilton

Embassy was my first hotel job and I didn't know exactly what to expect going into the position but it ended up being an awesome place to work. 

A typical day at Embassy consisted of taking calls for three hotels (Embassy, Ramada and Four Points) form customers wanting to book new reservations, edit or confirm exciting reservations. Charging customers credit cards for any amenities or pre paying a hotel room. We provided customers with information on current packages the hotels were offering and encouraged the guest to book with the deal before it was over. Everyday we would check packages we sold to confirm the guest information; for example Magic Show package we would pull up the guests confirmation number confirm they have not cancelled the reservation, the date of the reservation and the date of the show, the number of guest going to the show and the number of tickets purchased.

The people I worked with were amazing and it was very hard to say goodbye to them when I moved away. My managers and supervisors were so friendly and helpful. My co-workers and I became friends very quickly. The office environment was friendly even though we were there to work and we did our jobs, we were hanging out and talking about our after work plans and movies we had seen.

The best thing about Embassy was the people I worked with and the discounts that we received. We got discounted rooms for any hilton owned property starting at 29.99 to 59.99 per night. The hardest thing about Embassy was remembering all the promotions for each hotel. We booked for three hotels and each hotel had a different promotion going on at the same time. Sometimes they would have ten to fifteen   promotion per hotel and they were all different deals but they consisted of similar items like dinner vouchers or show tickets.

What is the best part of working at the company?
You are usually given 40 hours/week and you get discounts on food and drinks (coffee pop)

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
You must listen to bosses and there is four or five bosses. The bosses change their mind a lot. You have to attend to all calls . You make a mistake you are critiqued and penalized The next day you are reminded again about your mistake. Management is tough on you. Sometimes for no reason.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
You get your breaks. You are controlled what today and reminded about it too many times.
Sometimes management micro manages you. You are expected to do a lot even if, you are not feeling well. 
Favouritism is existent. Even when some people make mistakes they are NOT punished. We have a union but you don’t get all benefits.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
You do a fair amount of work. But you get raises. you must do what you can. Communication is not as good as other hotels. Some hotels explain duties time and time again. 

At this motel, Ido a lot of work. But other employees do little and get promoted faster.

I Started working at Embassy Suites when I was 17 years old. At that point in my life I knew I had a lot of growing up to do. I started out as a breakfast runner. I was alright at the job, didn't mind it. Made a lot of new friends and learned new things. 

 As the years went by, I found myself wanting more from the job. At that point I made the decision to start working online as a breakfast cook. I enjoyed this particular spot because I was able to interact with the customers more, worked in a faster pace environment and also accepted a pay raise. Most of my shifts at that point were for breakfast, but some days I would have banquet shifts as well.

 Banquets is the job that I excelled and enjoyed the most. It allowed me to work with various different types of foods, work under much more pressure and gave me more independence in the company. 

 At the end I can honestly say that Embassy Suites was a place that I grew as a person and a chef. I had many years there, made friends and even family.

What is the best part of working at the company?
The best part was that it was a busy hotel therefore I potentially can make a decent wage since my pay was mostly commission.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
The company doesn’t follow any rules regarding seniority or wage increase. As a result only certain individuals are rewarded and or promoted. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
The culture comprised of friends and family of owners and those who were not, complained and were very unhappy. A very sad environment. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Arrive check the arrivals and capacity of busses leaving for tours that day. Wait for guests to check in for tours and sell bus tours for the remainder of my shift.

Take orders, place orders, Deliver food in a timely manner. way too many managers.




Very bust room service, really required two staff. Elevators were always an issue, not enough service elevators. Clients were lovely, room service prices are / were extremely high.The hardest part of the job was trying to deliver the food, had to share the elevator with housekeeping. When the hotel was built not enough service elevators were installed.The most enjoyable part of the job was meeting people from all over the world. Setting up room with champagne and chocolate covered strawberries was enjoyable, also setting up flowers and ring boxes for engagement surprises.

We start the day with a pre-shift. Then start our work day. I learned that cleaning hotel rooms at a fast pace is hard work. I really like the fact that the day fly's by! The house keeping managers are great, kind and helpful. My co-workers are fun, honest hard working people who are always willing to lend a helping hand. The hardest part of the job is when your body temperature goes up and you have no choice but to keep working away. The best part is that its a 9:00am to 5:30pm job, you get 8 hours to complete your daily tasks. We are able to take our breaks when we want, and the company gives us free lunch, coffee and water. We also have a great benifits package.

Hired in to the Valet position with an abundance of work experience but was soon to find out that management lacked a huge amount of people skills along with supervisors with no vernacular or empathetical skills towards there dedicated work force. These highly important tools of a supervisor that are desperately lacking were highly evident to all employees on the Valet deck, along with an incredible weak Union Representative, with all this said, i was hugely disappointed with what my experienced eyes wittinessed.

.what I learned from my work is how to manage my time and handle stress free when some days of my work are hard.
.management are very helpful and supportive.
.my co-worker are very helpful and diligent when it comes to quality of work.
.the hardest part  of my job is when your get in late to the rooms due to the guest that are not ready to leave and when you get in; the room is disaster and its hard keep it together and you rushing out of time.
.the most enjoyable part of the job is when I finished on time and be able to help others.

The managers are very cordial and professional people, good co-workers and a jovial atmosphere. They give us good food and they don't make you overwork,

Its not a stressful work. They just like that you do your work that they give yo you, I recommend very much

My recent  job was dufficult when I first started this job but I manged to keep it up .

I learnd from ever co worker I work with was just to keep the system  going and get along with everyone I work with.  Well I do All 42 floors to stock the maids closet with clean and fold laundry thats the hard part and I started at midnight because there are no Hskp maids or anyone in other dept using the elevator to interupt me doing the replenshing job its quiet and i can get it done at 5 or 6 in the morning.
