My experience working at Empire Homes has been a valuable and professional learning opportunity. The company offers a structured work environment where processes are clearly defined, especially around warranty, customer service, and quality control. I worked with supportive team members who were knowledgeable and willing to help, which made it easier to understand systems and expectations. The role helped me gain hands-on exposure to construction standards, homeowner coordination, and issue resolution, strengthening both my technical and communication skills. Management encourages accountability and timely follow-ups, which creates a fast-paced but organized workplace. Like any construction-based organization, the workload can be demanding at times, but it also helps you grow and build resilience. Overall, Empire Homes is a good place to gain industry experience, develop practical skills, and understand how large-scale residential projects are managed from a customer and warranty perspective.

One of the standout aspects of working here is the commitment to learning and continuous improvement. The company encourages us to bring fresh ideas to the table and actively supports professional development through things like the education reimbursement program. The company is growing a lot and its a great time to be a part of something evolving! 

I appreciate the company’s focus on well-being and its efforts to create a positive and inclusive workplace. When I log off at the end of the day,  I know that there is no expectation to respond to emails or be available. This is so different from other jobs I have had.

- Attending site or head office meeting
- Plan and conduct inspections on site, review and analyse site reports and interact with site staff.
- Give directions to site staff or junior staff in site/head office for gathering various information related to technical or administrative aspect of projects.
- Follow up on various tasks given to junior staff and guiding them to achieving milestones.
- Doing management work related to cost analysis, engineering design study and vetting, work progress, identifying work related discrepancies and writing reports. 
- Conducting meetings with trades, consultants, suppliers and our staff for resolving various technical and cost issues.

Working at Empire was my first true "corporate" job, and it took a while to get used to this type of environment, coming from mostly unstructured, HR-less organizations. I was immediately impressed with the amount of opportunities available for professional development and advancement, especially for the young leaders in the company. Salary is competitive, benefits are good and the annual review process ensures you and your department have the chance to create and hit goals every year to receive a bonus. Although sometimes things get stressful, the most thought-out and organized plans change on a dime and the work piles up, it is manageable when you are working with a smart and motivated team and have the support and recognition from upper management.

Being in an office environment position for more than 20 years Empire Communities by far is the most employee and client driven company I have ever worked for.  The culture is diverse and very welcoming.  Advancement is presented as attainable and salaries are fair.  Managers are very engaged in their departments and are constantly seeking fun and creative team building activities.  We work hard and play harder as a team!  Definitely an employer I would consider working with until retirement. 

They draw you in with an impressive show, nice salary and attractive perks but once the two days at head office are over and you are on site there's No training or support from management. Manipulative cold and absent upper manager. Leave you on your own with no support or direction and then hang you out to dry. 

Left a job of 7 years to join the team then in less than two weeks was out of a job because the director of customer service can't do her job and support/train her staff.

Working in a structured environment.


What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
To many untrained office people not knowing what to do. To many meetings about irrelevant subjects that never got resolved. Management team at the time, very unprofessional causing a toxic environment. I would never consider going back or sending anyone else there for employeement.

Toxic work invironment in the office.

Empire is a great company had it not been for the heavy workload. While I was employed at Empire, I gave it my all. I worked like an animal. Though the hours were from 8:30 to 5, I put it in 12 hours a day with no extra pay as I was on salary. No one appreciated my work. Managers are not supportive, they don't care. The owners however are very down to earth and very generous. I don't recommend working there mainly because of poor management and heavy workload. There is no life balance.

I have learned at this job most of my real estate knowledge and to handle a great deal of customer service with our client.

a lot of the purchaser today is very blind sided with all the knowledge from different sources, to use my knowledge and experiences to given the honest option to the client. Most of my client became my friends because I have provide them the best interest and knowledge on general real estate investment.
