The properties I worked at were very old or very new both locations consisted of horizontal wells 2-20 % sour. Electric pump
jacks  water flood with pump off controllers for optimization.No typical days, summer can be very busy with new projects and staff holidays plus the regular operations with meetings weekly or more often..All the equipment is electric drive.That area has severe lightning causing plant and well shutdowns on a very frequent basis. Area management was not good with green foreman micro managing things.No reason for that considering the crew was very experienced.The culture in the field was very good in spite of this.The most enjoyable part was working with a good group of operators.The winter is very hard work with freezing problems and call-outs .Having spent most of my career working with gas learing about oil wells and battery was very interesting

A day at work consisted of ensuring all processes and facilities where running at peak efficiency and oil for sale met specifications.  Although I had a lot of experience with oil production, this was much larger than what I was trained in, so I had to adjust my mindset accordingly.  Management was extremely supportive and my co-workers helped make a team that were always there for one another.  The job was extremely stressful, however, as the wells were all sour and spills and pipeline leaks were inevitable even with our constant diligence.  The part of the job I enjoyed the most was the great feeling of accomplishment of keeping things running and completing the many operations properly on a daily basis.

The company Enerplus as a whole is a wonderful company to work for. The few people I had in my team were wonderful to work with and kept what could be long days fun and enjoyable. 
The hardest part of my job was when I first started and had no guidance as to where to begin and what certain documents meant and not having a lot of support, so I worked hard on doing what I could on my own.
The most enjoyable part was that there was no micro management, and there were a lot of laughs and the longer I was there the more support there was.

Enerplus was committed to safety of personnel and equipment, they provided training and guidance to their employees to ensure their goals were met.This helped boost confidence and moral within the group of employees involved.

Enerplus Corporation was a rewarding organisation to be associated with. The company takes project management, engineering, construction and project controls seriously. There are systems and tools in place that enhances the likelihood of having highly successful outcomes when planning and executing pipeline and facility projects.

Like many companies, Enerplus  grew very quickly and after the takeover of Mark resources, processes became more complicated and there were a lot of growing pains. Overall though,  I remember my time and energy plus with fondness for the people.

Enerplus has assets in both Canada and the US.  The properties include conventional, heavy oil, shallow gas and deep gas.  While I worked there they had ~600 employees.  They have reorganized their organization with numerous lay-offs due to the challenging commodity prices.

The people and culture are what make this a great place to work. Everyone is always willing to help one another out. Senior leadership team is very approachable.

I worked at Enerplus for over 20 years and found the people very enjoyable and productive. The company promoted and rewarded people according to their skills and contribution to the company's growth. I found it very challenging and dynamic. I was laid off due to downsizing.
