I worked here for three years and I loved it. Unfortunately I had to relocate, but I would return without hesitation if circumstances allowed. 

I was looking for a real career with limitless possibilities for advancement, and that is what I got. Every shift was exciting and fulfilling, and every night I went home feeling like I reached a new personal best. This is a career to feel proud of. To this day, I cherish the time I spent here.

What I liked most about working here was if you are ambitious and you give it your all, your efforts will be recognized, appreciated, and rewarded. Before working here, I always felt like "just another employee", and never expected to have the opportunity for a career like this without first gaining a college/university degree and/or having extensive experience in the field. This boss wants to see his employees succeed, and if you put in the effort to better your education and life, he will match you on that. Raises and bonuses are readily given when an employee earns it. This means employees don't have to wait 6 months, or 1 year, to get extras. If they've earned a bonus, they'll get a bonus, even if they've only been there for a month. It felt good knowing my boss and colleagues noticed and appreciated my efforts. They always made me feel like I was an essential part of team, and I felt respected and happy every shift.

My boss and colleagues always believed in me, and I achieved more during my time here than I ever thought possible. A career here opens the door for an entirely new life if you want it, and you can go from 'no experience newbie' to 'valuable professional' very quickly.

I would recommend a career with this business to my friends and family. Espanola Animal Hospital sees the potential in people, and there is no better place to launch a new career and a new you.

I'm grateful for the experience that I had here because it started me on the right path towards a fulfilling career. I will say I had to leave this environment in order to achieve my goals. This business is very financially and inwardly motivated. Educational opportunities are advertised but the hours and commitment required to maintain a position here are not conducive to this. If you want to work here your should be aware as in written in the contract, a lot of manual labour is required. Gardening, weeding, yard cleaning, painting, deck staining, lawn mowing. 
You may also be required to switch from nights to days without a day in-between. The scheduling was very unorganized. The owner was constantly yelling either directly or indirectly at someone. I was belittled and berated at this job repeatedly and often. To say this was a poisoned hostile work environment is being generous. I am very glad to be at new clinic where I feel respected and appreciated. I worked at Espanola Animal Hospital longer than I should have because I felt a tremendous responsibility to stay due to staffing issues.  I noticed (understandably) an extremely high rate of turnover.  Be prepared to give most of your time to this job as the employer wants people to be committed on and off the clock. My days off I was always on call without compensation and was given many unpaid extra curricular tasks.

Working as an Animal Care Attendant here has been an incredibly rewarding experience. The team is full of some of the most brilliant minds I’ve ever met. The genuine care for patient welfare shows in everything they do, from surgical planning, care and long term treatment and rehabilitation plans. 

Management is very supportive and approachable. The willingness to train and mentor staff makes it such a great environment for both new and experienced animal care workers. You’re encouraged to learn, ask questions, and grow your skills, and your hard work never goes unnoticed.

The job as an Animal Care Attendant is hands on and fast paced but extremely fulfilling. I leave everyday feeling I’ve aided in making a real difference in the lives of animals and their families. The workplace culture is respectful, team-oriented, and positive, with coworkers who are always willing to help one another. I genuinely am so excited to go to work each day. 

I also appreciate the opportunities for growth within the company and the benefits offered. This is an excellent place to work if you’re passionate about animals, reliable, and looking for a role where your compassion and dedication truly matter.

Working at the Espanola Animal Hospital is  rewarding on many levels. Day in and day out you get to be apart of a close knit group of people who are not only career driven but like to have fun along the way. If you are a hard working individual who enjoys the aspect of each day being different from the last, this job (and career) is for you. There is no need for prior training (although prior veterinary experience helps), the staff will guide you through each task you need to know to make you an asset to the team! The surgical team assists in a wide variety of procedures from fracture repairs, many orthopedic procedures (including total hip replacements!) and spinal surgeries. Whether you’re wanting to be a vet assistant, vet technician, or even wanting to be a future veterinarian this group of employees/employer will help you in every aspect they can!

The sky is the limit for the job advancement that is available working at the animal hospital. If you’re interested in rehabilitation we have that, if you like conducting research we have that too, if you have an interest in radiology, 3D printing or being apart of cutting edge surgeries, all of these are an added bonus of the things you can do with this job.

Working at Espanola Animal Hospital has, by far, been one of my best employment experiencesthat I continue to enjoy. I am continually given new learning opportunities, new tasks and advancements and have unlimited opportunity to learn and gain accreditations in the field (rehabilitation therapy, vet assistant, dentistry, anesthesia and ICU patient care etc.) Pay rate is more than fair given the typical rates of pay available as an assistant, not including the bonuses for my efforts & hard work. The staff is friendly, atmosphere is great and I find everyone to be supportive and encouraging. We have a great team that works great together. It is a fast paced job that can come with a lot of stress but we all work together to get the job done, take care of each other & provide what I believe to be the best patient care around. I have worked here for 8 months now and have known most of the long term employees for the better part of 6+ years. One of the best decisions I have ever made as a change of career was to apply at this surgical referral centre.

The team makes a world of difference! Everyone supports each other, and encourages you to do your very best every day! 
 One of the  best parts of the job is the amazingly innovative surgerys you get to assist the doctor with, whether you're scrubbed in with him, doing anesthesia, or circulating. 
 There's also loads of opportunities to advance in your career. Whether you have zero experience, or already a vet tech/RVT, he will help you excel! There is TONS of training! There is also tuition assistance for continuing education; becoming a vet tech,becoming a rehab assistant, etc. The sky's the limit. 
 The pay is also above average. The more you know and the harder you work, the higher the pay. There are also bonuses, which are pretty frequent. 
 This isn't your typical 9-5 job, animals don't stop having accidents because the end of the day is approaching. But if you want a career, and you are passionate, this is the place you need to work.

Coming to work everyday is a lot of fun! The staff is super friendly and will treat you like family. The job can get stressful as there are extra readings to do at home and there are overtime hours with animals coming in on emergencies. However, it is well worth it. The pay is great and your hard work does not go unnoticed. The readings provide you with the knowledge to strengthen your skills, as well as the opportunity to advance your career in veterinary medicine. This is especially a great opportunity for anyone interested in improving their application for vet school; as you will not only gain experience in surgery but with research. Even if you don't have any experience, the team provides awesome training. There is also opportunity for earning bonuses and travelling. Plus you get to hangout with super cute animals all day!! I am very happy I found this job and would highly recommend it to anyone.

The owner constantly tells and swears at his staff and let's them know how stupid they are.

Amazing place in many respects, but what I love most are the boundless opportunities. Want to wade into the field of Veterinary medicine? Perfect, they're happy to have you if you want to learn! Want to become a veterinary technician? Even better, they pay for your degree! Want to become a specialized technician after that? Speak at conferences? Anything you can think of, they will support.

Just an all around great place to work.  Everyone on the team encourages each other even on the hardest of days we all pull together and make it to the end of the day laughing.
