-very busy from morning till night dealing with customers,employees and every day situations. Dealing with the retail public can be a lot of fun but at times very testing.Managing at the Esso was really quite enjoyable because once i hired my own employees it was fun to come to work.My co-workers were dependable,good workers,and enjoyable to work with.The hardest part of the job were the weather conditions,being outside most of the time on a shift example snow,rain and heat but dressing appropiately would normally resolve these problems.The most enjoyable part of working were the people you met and talked to each day whether they were regulars,salesman,long distant truckers,or local school bus drivers.As time progressed i increased our gas sales and convenience store sales just by getting along very well with customers.Being in this smaller community of Lindsay,if you are well liked it is very easy to have a monopoly on a business .I think
i have met a very large portion of the people from in and around the LINDSAY area all in a very positive way.

I absolutely valued my position at Cottonwood Esso. I would look forward to going to work ever day. A typical day at work for me would include lots of point-of-sale system usage, customer service and sales. The management was among the best I have ever encountered; my coworkers were equally as awesome. My favorite part of the job was the time I was able to spend interacting with my regular customers as well as new customers. I believe I was exceptional at my job because of my ability to engage the customers and suggest and recommend products based on my knowledge of the customers needs. The hardest aspect of working at a Gas Station is the potential for theft or danger; I needed to be alert at all times while maintaining the stores cleanliness and whilst talking with customers. I made close connections with many of my regular customers and brought many repeat shoppers into the store because of my upbeat attitude and kind demeanor.

Good have enjoyed working at Esso because of the fast-paced environment and the opportunity to interact with different customers daily. The job provides a great learning experience, especially in customer service and teamwork. My coworkers and managers are supportive, making the workplace feel like a team-oriented environment.

The tasks are straightforward, including handling transactions, stocking shelves, and maintaining a clean workspace. I worked here for a few months, and despite them saying that they are incredibly flexible about school, they are not. They expect you to come in despite having midterms, or exams.

I also called in sick a couple of times, and was scolded for attempting to find coverage online because apparently it seemed like I "planned to call in sick". A coworker didn't show up for 3 weeks, and only got fired after calling in sick for around the 10th time? A coworker also called in sick once or twice every week, and never got fired, despite them not even trying to find coverage. I should've just not shown up instead of trying to find coverage, maybe I'd still be an employee there.

If you don't mind working for crazy people, or you're looking for a dead-end job, this is the perfect job for you. If you want a job that actually requires a functioning brain, keep looking.

Esso gas station was a good experience for me. I had the opportunity to learn how to handle customers in stressful work environment.I dealt with cash and deposit and maintain an organized workstation. I learn to stay focused on the job and avoid conflict in a busy work environment. People working here are friendly (including the manager), and meet lots of regular customer to keep them coming.The hardest part of the job is to maintain a busy gas station and at the same time deal with aggressive customers. This was easy by building a good customer relationship, and help them overcome their problems with supervisor's help. Esso gas station was a great experience for i enjoyed learning great customer service, and weekly well paid salary of $11.50/hr. Hard work is also paid by great compliments of the manager.

I recently had the opportunity to work as a cashier at a petrol pump, and it was a great experience. A typical day at work included all my daily responsibilities as well as occasionally changing routine when new products or groceries came in. 
I learned how to improve customer service through interaction with a variety of people as well as time management and efficiency.
The management was awesome there as I was able to get days off when I needed and was allowed to easily switch shifts with other co-workers.
The co-workers have a close bond there and are all very friendly and get along good!
The most difficult part of the job was when it was slow there at certain times of day and all my duties were finished .
The most enjoyable part of the job was interacting with so many customers and being around people all of the time.

A usual day at work will not be relaxing. There is points where you can take a minute if needed so. The day's will be always slow at first until customers start showing up in numbers and it will be a little fanatic, but the key is to always pace yourself, do not rush.
 I did learn some stuff about things I wouldn't have known worked as the way they did.
The workplace is fine and decently lad back, although sometimes it does vary. When I worked their the hardest part of the job was to put up with some of my co-workers and hold back any thoughts or actions that would have got me in trouble. 
When I did work there, the most enjoyable part of the job was meeting new interesting people, just having a chat with a stranger about things, or also helping them out if they're just passing by looking for something.

It is a fast paced workplace.  Customers are usually in rush and they expect the cashier to complete the transactions as fast as possible.  Sometimes it becomes very stressful when there is long line up and one customer is buying a lot of Lotties. Of course, checking and selling lottery requires attention making a small mistake can create a lot of problems.  On other hand checking ID for smokes and lottery are important and mandatory by law.  Customers must be asked for ID whenever they purchase these products.  Any employees who forget or ignore to check ID can create a big issue especially when a customer is a minor. Working with diligent and being responsible can make a big difference in any workplace.
