I learned a lot of life lessons during my years at EGH.
I learned that life is a gift and that we should cherish it each and every day and to live life to the full.  I learned that no matter what issues I was facing, they were small compared to what other people had to deal with.

My most enjoyable part of the job was being able to help people in all walks of life.  I have a very calming presence and I have the ability to put people at ease.  

Workplace culture was wonderful.  We all came from different parts of the world and we all shared our culture with each other.  We treated each other with utmost respect.

To see patients who had been in hospital for several months, finally go home.  I met a lot of these patients and their families.  It was very precious.

One of the most enjoyable parts of my job was assisting the hospital Chaplin to organize the Salvation Army Carol Sing and Band every year. We went to each and every floor and were so well received every year by everyone.  The joy it brought to the patients and their families was beyond description.  This was something that I did totally as a "volunteer" after hours as was providing the reception after the carol-singing for all who took part.

I found it to be a valuable learning experience overall. The hospital offers exposure to a wide variety of patient populations and clinical situations, which helped me grow professionally and develop my nursing skills. Many of my colleagues were supportive, knowledgeable, and dedicated to providing quality patient care.

However, I found the work environment could be challenging at times. There were periods where the workplace culture felt negative, and staff morale appeared low. One area that stood out was employee recognition. Healthcare workers put in a tremendous amount of effort, often under stressful conditions, yet I did not feel staff appreciation was prioritized to the extent it should be. For example, during Nursing Week, recognition initiatives seemed limited compared to what is offered at many other healthcare organizations.

Overall, it was a good place to gain experience and learn, but improvements in workplace culture and staff appreciation would make it a stronger organization.

My experience at Etobicoke General Hospital was excellent, I usually handled the customers and the took the role of a cashier as well. I volunteered 2 hours a day every week. I learned how to deal with customers in difficult situations. The environment at the hospital is very positive and most of the time lively. Hardest part of the job is passing time when nothing is going on. The most enjoyable part of my experience was making customers happy with their purchases.

This was a new environment for me since it was a privately run hospital versus a teaching hospital that I had always worked in. Plus it was in a different country. Excellent staff working there, all very friendly and patient oriented. The hardest part of the job for me was I was more attuned to acute care/intensive care setting and was  told to focus more on the general population of patients.

I currently work in emergency started may 2019
prior to that worked on the surgical unit. med/sur. general surgery and orthopedics combine unit. (started June 2017).
I worked for William Osler health system for 5 years.
3 years in Brampton Civic Hospital (started 2014)
Units were - Ortho, General surgery, Day surgery (pre-post op)
I am still on the surgical float
Overall working for the surgical is a good learning experience.

Each unit is different and depends on the unit and area you work in. Some units don’t have a good work life balance while I heard about others that do. It’s very subjective. Working on a medicine unit is very draining and fast paced on its own, but if you have great colleges and management it’ll be worth it. It’s really the people and management that make the overall experience because medicine will be medicine wherever you go. 

It was a really pleasant and unique experience with great staff and management. I always enjoyed coming in because there was something new everyday. It provided me with insight about what it's actually like to work in a hospital from the perspective of several different employees.

Indeed has been a great place to work. With any growing company, there have been moments of stress. But through strong leadership and a clear mission (I help people get jobs), Indeed has been an amazing place to work. The challenges are daily and varied and leave me satisfied. I have grown a lot working here and see a lot of potential for more in the future.

Etobicoke General Hospital is a great place to volunteer and even work . I had a wonderful experience doing my cooperative education there and the workers are very loving . As a COOP students , at times it did get stressful but you have to beable to work under stressful conditions .

I looked forward going in to work. It was a fun environment.
I went in with the mindset that I am saving another life today.
Got along with management
The hardest part of the job is seeing a life lost and doing everything we could to save it.
The most enjoyable part of the job is meeting new people, and getting to know them.
