I learned a lot and have grown a lot as a person  since starting at Exceldor. A typical day at Exceldor is busy but the day goes by fast and their some good people to work with  management is pretty good. I only gave it 3 star because they could communicate better but that’s about it. Workplace culture is good in the distribution centre. The company is pretty good don’t really have a lot of complaints except the whole building share one seniority and hard time o get days for class 3 pay. The most enjoyable part would be the staff a lot of good people their. The hardest part of the job would be that it can get really busy  and it’s heavy work at a fast pace and being hard to get days 

the place in general was good, most department was easy to learn to work and adaptable, example cut up and packaging . reception was a different story, hard physically and open to live chickens, often in sweat or freezing, so likely to get sick. 

if in any other part of Exceldor the work would be easy and would last years. the administration didn't like that I mention the fact that likeliness to get sick was greater in the reception area so dismiss me a few days before being included in the unions.

Steady,busy, and long hours, there is always work if you need

They ignore accident claims, ignore QA advice, low moral for workers, push machinery to its breaking point then get upset because "we can't make quota" and take it out on the workers. I learned how to work in a group setting, how seniority works and how WSIB works. Management could be better but no one wants to be in that position. Hardest part of the job is the repetitive wrist work. Enjoyable part of the job is breaks and socializing.

Back breaking work with zero sympathy. Have to use holidays and still get in shot for any appointments, zero communication between employees and management, benefits take WAY to long to kick in (4month probation,6months full pay,9month benefits) this place will make you question if humanity has common sense at all. Lazy people are rewarded while hard workers are screamed at to pick up slack. Best part of the job is the people you work with

Very mismanaged company, safety is not there priority. Easier to let you go then deal with issues that are safety concerns or any concern. Too much over head staff, unqualified staff in trade. Unorganized. Stuck in there granny’s ways, it’s been done like that forever we are not changing. Very high turnover ratio. Lots of friction between union and non-union employees. Chain of commands to follow. Expectation is corporate robot mentality.

Management is fair. There is a need for improvement.
Co-workers generally are friendly even some have false ideas about migrant workers.
The hardest part of the job is air conditionning. It's cold inside but this is not a problem for those who are unvulnerable to severe low temperature.

sending deductions to salespeople for approval

using JD Edwards web based program

Offers no benefits unless you are a favorite of the union, as long as you do not reach the minimum hours needed for the union to protect you, the admins. are pretty much doing what they want with you. Hard place to work and tough selection process for about no benefits. Employees are bickering and in-fighting provides for a really toxic work environment. Corrupted union and owners.

On a day to day basis this company does not take the time to train new employees. You get hired and then you are thrown out to the production floor and not shown what to do. Many new hires don’t make it passed first break because they are overwhelmed and are struggling to learn on their own.
