I loved coaching, the members, and the overall atmosphere. F45 really helped me build the foundation to become the coach I am today. I had good relationships with most of my coworkers, and the day-to-day work itself was enjoyable and straightforward.

However, upper management did not value or respect my efforts or boundaries. Payroll was rarely accurate or paid on time, and bringing up concerns often led to being labeled “difficult.” Accountability seemed to apply only to non-management, and even respectful, logical feedback was not well received. Maintaining relationships with former members or participating in other gyms was viewed negatively, which created an unhealthy dynamic. I also disliked seeing my coworkers treated poorly, and the constant complaints about management made the environment draining. I prefer to work somewhere where people are genuinely happy and recognized for their contributions.

For an experienced coach, the pay is simply not worth it. That said, despite my personal experience, I still have positive things to say about this location. It’s a great place for new coaches to gain experience and build a strong foundation in the industry.

Went in for an interview and everything seemed great, potential coworkers were nice, and very supportive and encouraging, but they take you on as a “subcontractor” meaning you’ll have to pay your own taxes, also I received a lowball offer of 26 an hour, which with 4 years of international experience, really sickened me.  I live 25 minutes away and would spend a quarter on that just to drive there and back, for only 5-8 hours of work a week? Wow. What really threw me off was the fact that they also split up and made sure you were paid less for hours you worked when you have to set up or clean up the studio, getting paid only 20 an hour, then 15 an hour during your training. Seems like such a great and fun environment to work but it is not worth the pay for some, all the employees there are very encouraging and supportive but I’m disappointed with the offer management gave me. So disappointing, obviously refusing the offer, and continuing with my 1on1 Training. Cheers! 

If you are new to instructing group classes or need a stepping stone into fitness, the F45 instructor role is good for you, but not the be all and end all.

Different locations have different staff management techniques. Find a location whose managers are on site and work along you. I find some locations there’s a lot of micromanaging as managers are remote and there isn’t a supportive network or direction for new coaches. 

Unfortunately, my personal experience with F45 was a very poor one. My training was done in inconvenient hours (opposite to my availablity and what was advised) which made me make connections with clients that I would never see, which did not set me up for success. The lead coach created a very toxic environment, which now makes sense why there is such a high turnover rate at this studio. Basic pay, micromanagement, lack of hours and lack of flexibility in hour requests. 

I’ve been with F45 Blue Mountain for over a year. Best decision ever! It is a great company to work for!!! I’ve never been apart of a company that supports their trainers and members as much as F45 does.  Training is abundant with headquarters as well as constant training in studio led by an amazing owner who lives and breathes the F45 brand. Not only is it an amazing studio but it is an incredible community with amazing members and staff. The culture at F45 is unbeatable!!! 

For most instructors here, this is the type of job that is in addition to a 9-5 type of job. It is not something to rely to pay bills on, more so something you can use for saving money, or spending money; it's always early morning classes between 5am-9am, and evening classes between 5pm-8pm. That being said, you stay because of how fun and engaging the environment is, of course, depending on what location you coach at.

Each studio is very unique, but in my experience across the board (multiple studios) the members and family you create with your fellow trainers are always top notch. It's a great position to add onto another part-time or full-time gig in fitness.

The only downsides include not being able to alter the workout to fit the needs of your members as you would in a private session, and not a lot of room for growth unless you transition to a studio manager position.

The members are all fantastic to work with, they are the warmest and most welcoming part of the job. The owner is extremely moody with expectations higher than you'll ever be able to reach. You will not be supported and always wonder how secure your job is as the owner can quickly turn on you. F45 is great but work at any other location. 

Working at F45 has been a very positive place for me to learn and grow within the fitness industry. The coaches and management were so welcoming when I first started. My coworker are always there to provide support and uplift one another. I love connecting one on one with our dedicated members to continue building the strong, inclusive community that the company was built upon.

Underpaid and overworked. You should get more pay for set up. 
Not only are you putting equipment away from previous workout routine but then setting up for next workout routine and then cleaning up the washrooms, vacuuming, etc. This should be more pay!!!

Too name a few bad experiences.

Over worked , expected to work every shift and do sales in down time, owner was only after money and treated staff Very poorly. 

The only good to come from this was making a difference in members lives by helping them achieve there fitness goals. Members continue to keep in touch with me.
