However, the leadership style of the owner/manager is a significant challenge. While the business may experience success, credit is often taken solely by the owner, while any shortcomings are deflected onto others. There is a noticeable lack of accountability, with the owner seeking recognition but failing to acknowledge the efforts of the team.

If you enjoy being micromanaged, this role might be a fit for you. There’s a strong emphasis on unnecessary oversight, including the requirement to report minor mistakes in writing after shifts and face potential consequences for trivial matters. For example, employees were expected to detail which clients they had made smile during their shift—this was actually part of the job requirements.

Employee Retention and Work Environment:
During my 2.5 years at this location, I witnessed the turnover of over 25 employees. This consistent turnover rate indicates an underlying issue within the workplace culture. The environment can be challenging, particularly when it comes to expressing concerns or providing constructive feedback. I was terminated after voicing my opinion about the ineffective motivational tactics and questioning certain practices. Unfortunately, feedback from employees is not welcomed, especially if it involves criticizing the management.

Owner's Knowledge of Fitness:
It’s also important to note that the owner has limited knowledge of fitness and nutrition, despite running a fitness studio. The lack of expertise in these areas is evident, and the owner often tries to project an image of competence, which many clients see through.

Conclusion:
While F45 as a brand offers great opportunities, I cannot recommend this particular location due to the management issues and the overall work culture. The pros, such as well-maintained facilities, are overshadowed by the cons, which significantly impact the employee experience.
