Working in the parts department, there is / was no management structure.  The first Operations Manager was fired, the replacement brought in from their other Edmonton location.  The new Operations Manager was originally on the fitness side of the business, and he didn't have the first clue on running or managing a parts and rentals department.  Staff turnover was quite exceptionally high, and the amount of stress placed upon the employees was a joke.  They would take just anyone on with little to no experience and throw them into the position dealing with customers on parts that they simply didn't have a clue about.  It was more of a sink or swim situation where you had to learn fast, or risk being written up.  Each year you would have your yearly review, to see how you are doing within your position.  Each year there would be one excuse after anothernaboit why they weren't going to give you a payrise.  The usual excuse would be that business is  slow and that they have to watch their budgets.  At the yearly Christmas party however all the employees are then told that the company has had the best year to date ever.  Revenue is up, repeat business from our customers is up.  Parts and service sales are through the roof, yet while the cost of living is continually going up each year, they do not want to put their hand in their pockets and pay their staff a decent and realistic wage for the hardwork and commitment that they have shown the company.  
They say they are looking for red seal or journeymen parts people, they don't pay red seal or journeyman rates.  The same goes for the service techs, they want the best qualified mechanics but are not willing to pay them what they are legally entitled to under the labour boards regulations.

The culture is very open, and it feels like you are apart of a family. My colleagues are more than co-workers and it showed from the minute I started. Like any place you work there are issues, but if you are a self-starter with ambition to grow and be a part of something bigger than yourself you will be a good fit. 

Nothing but positive things to say about this company. There is a genuine care for their employees from dept. managers all the way up to the executive team. Flaman is extremely accommodating as well. Strong belief in Work Life and Personal Life balance. To me, Flaman is extremely admirable for following their Noble Cause which is "People Together, Doing What's Right, Making a Difference" I could think of 10 ways the noble cause is shown everyday. Really good crew to work with and really makes it easy to lace up and come to work everyday! I often find myself here on my days off or weekends simply because I love being here! 

Every morning at Flaman's is a opening to opportunity to work with co-workers that are willing to step up and give every customer a hand to make sure there customer experience is the best that they can give. We also have such a huge company support group that if you need help there is so many different paths/sources that you can turn to, to make your job much easier. When you can come to work to have hand shakes and smiles and laughter everyday you know that you are appreciated and that the job you are doing is making a difference in the company's life style also in yours.

Most of the people there are awesome and supportive!  Turning into a corporate structure which is sad because the family atmosphere is being lost!  Unless your in sales or one of the too many managers  you are easily forgotten and underpaid!  I actually did love working with the people there but there was staffing issues with some people not meant for the roll they were in!  Don’t trust the main HR guy or the 2 girls around the Grain Systems desk!   Overall very fun place to work but some recent hires have changed that!

Planned out very well and steady

Good safety with regards to trucks and equipment. Management is seen all the time and personable to talk to. 
Benefits after 6 months. Pay scale is on the low side but the work atmosphere and the guys make up for it. Good place to gain driver experience.
The paid for my class 1 upgrade in exchange for a 1 year employment contract.

I worked here for a long time, I would say it was my favourite job I  have had to date. Sometimes frustrating things would happen with Senior Management, but overall the job itself is pretty rewarding.  If you like fitness and helping people pick out the right piece of equipment, you will have fun working here. I met lots of great people, and I wouldn’t hesitate recommending someone to work here. 

My experience working at Flaman has been nothing short of amazing. The environment is very welcoming, and they really care about their employees. This is a workplace where someone can begin a lifelong career. Days are filled with laughter, a variety of tasks, and it provides great work-life balance. Anyone would be lucky to be part of the Flaman family.
