I got offered a job at Friesens right after I finished getting a degree at MITT. I moved to Altona Manitoba with the understanding that I would be starting from the bottom and would work my way up in the company. 
I didn't expect the job to be easy, but this job was literally the worst job i ever had. They had me stacking an endless amount of boxes every day. Usually 4 to 6 hours, but could be as much as 11 (all day with only lunch break and afternoon break off) 
This was by far the worst experience of my life. I would go to work every day and dreaded it. 
The moment I knew I had to quit was when I saw other people come with no experience get positions I went to college for. When I asked the supervisor, he informed me he had no clue I had a degree. I knew I was there for labour only and would never get that great job I worked so hard at college for. 

Manufacturing areas are usually fast pace working areas. Learned   communication, organizational and time management skills. learned how to train and motivate people. One of the best thing I had working at Friesens was my colleagues, learned great skills of how to be a team player. Hardest part for me would be working 12 hours shift in manufacturing where there is more of physical work involved, and the most enjoyable part was to meet new people and trained them on machines for quality standards and about safety standards.

there were not many upsides to working here.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
The management is horrible, my supervisor's behavior was so unacceptable for a workplace

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
stressful, terrible management, the pay is okay but for the amount of hard work should be much more

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
lots of heavy lifting/ breaks are very short

This job is fast pasted and productive the minute you walk in, with friendly atmosphere from co workers and management. 
Its a 12 hour workday for the full time employees from 6am to 6pm  with very little stress involved and we all work as a team and a family together. There is a variety of  culture at Friesenes where many people like to bring in all types of food, treats and candies for everyone to try. Over all it is a really great wok place to experience.

I worked the night shift at Friesens. There were three twelve hour shifts per week.  I worked production support in the bindery division where I was assigned tasks where I was needed, such as putting books in boxes, stacking and labeling boxes and various hand work such as spiraling books, hand collating, and putting stickers on books.

Generally speaking, it is an excellent company. the management is polite and inclusive, the coworker were supportive and enjoyable. But I  encountered kind of misunderstanding and unfairness. Anyway, I delt with this in a forgiving and tolerant way.

If you are not in with management. you have to work harder then most people. and if you don't like what the Friesins say or do. you get put in the dog house. With some people if your not in a certain religen. you are looked down on. But there are very few people like that there. for the most part there are go people there.

Low pay , told not to tell others your wage , supposed to be an employee owned company with rewarding shares . Then company buys back all shares and has wage freezes .
When high ranking employees retire Millionaires the place is crookedly run. 
Low pay compared to most printing companies.

I enjoyed all the events of working at FRIESENS

Nothing was stressful working at FRIESENS 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
They treated me like family at FRIESENS

Clients are continuously upsold and rightly angry by it. Management has their head in the clouds. While the work is sometimes rewarding, the environment of the workplace is far from it. Get ready to calm down angry people.
