I have been at this company for over 5 years and through those years, every year has gotten worst.  It's like the company, the management and the supervisors enjoy chaos and making the work place and environment miserable and toxic. My only regret is that I didn't leave this company sooner. 

They are so desperate at this point they will hire anyone. They don't treat temps with respect, I guess same can go for full times as well. All the office are on their high horse, rude attitude and gossip in at their desk. HR is NOT for you, they only benefit for the office. Management seems to always be against you and push you more to point you are just stressed and belittled. Some Supervisors can be so rude and if you're on the their bad side they will use whatever against you. QA has lack of training and you do MORE of their work for their Team Leaders/Management and some days don't get your full breaks.

Throughout the years I have seen too many quality people who truly cared about their work and jobs and who are good workers who knows the job. Leaving because lack of teamwork, management, communication, training, support, organization and encouragement. And when it comes down it, it's management(in every department) that creates unnecessary chaos and stressfulness. 

I have been on all shifts, days, afternoons and nights. Every departments, QA, Supervisors, Maintenance, HR, Person who does are holidays and time off. It's just a terrible place to work at and toxic environment. People who used work hard don't care anymore. People who slack are rewarded. Most days you don't even get acknowledge or a simple nice "hi, good morning." unless you're needed or important enough. Training lacks completely you can ask anyone who works there, or has been there for over 10 years. 

In all the jobs I have ever worked for, this has got to be the WORST company. I am not proud to say I have worked here nor I like to even write this review. Probably best part of the job is if and when line breaks, most times you get to stand around and do nothing as a Line Worker. Everyone is miserable there. They made some changes in the management. And they say they want all these changes. But honestly in the end, it's all the same. It's not quality people nor products anymore. It's all about numbers, and you're just a number. There are some great workers there(on the floor). But the company itself, it does not feel like a workplace culture nor family. There's always someone complaining or gossiping. 

The day I left was the most I have felt relived and alive. Overjoy and stress-free since I've worked there. Please for your own mental health DO NOT work here. It's not the job that's hard, it's the management that doesn't know how to properly run a company. 

When I first started working here, it was a family oriented place. 90% of the people were very friendly and willing to help a newcomer out. The other 10%, not so much. We were allowed to talk and have some fun, as long as we were still working. There were plenty of opportunities for advancement in the company. Over the years, though, it went downhill. It went through several plant manager changes, supervisors had their obvious favourite employees (even though they denied it) that were treated like gold, no matter what they did. People would show up to work drunk or high. And if you reported it to Health & Safety, you were instantly blackballed and they did everything they could to get rid of YOU instead. Operators have been fired for forging their paperwork and then hired back in the same position because they couldn't find anyone who wanted the job. I knew someone in the QA department and was told that one of them was caught forging their paperwork while spending their entire night in a different department. Instead of being fired like they should have been, they were demoted back to the line. Unless you are absolutely desperate for a job, this is not the place you should CHOOSE to work.

Majority of the employees are middle-aged and many go for a smoke before entering the building for work. Machines break down often, managers will work you until you sweat for some positions, lack of seating in breakroom, lack of training, you will not be informed about things are going to work (how to check-in, where to find HR room, where to be the next day), very fast pace, some jobs are harder than others but its first come first serve, English isn't majority spoken, not guaranteed work tomorrow, you will feel like a tool, your effort aren't going to be valued, very loud work environment, only two 20 minute breaks, not welcoming to new employees. I've had people ignore me because of the language barriers.

Grand River Foods takes great care to keep the workplace clean by regularly washing the rooms and equipment and leaving many signs and warnings for employees to keep clean hands as well as other sanitary behavior for working with food. 
The managers are respectful towards the employees and the workers generally get along in and out of the workplace.
The most difficult work has to do with awareness and speed, usually while packing boxes on a busy day or separating the good meat from the bad as it passes on a conveyor belt. Also, workers must be ready to face the fridge temperatures of the rooms, usually by dressing in many layers, or to deal with loud machinery despite wearing earplugs.
But the job was also enjoyable, for employees generally work alongside each other and are free to converse for as long as they complete their tasks properly.

In three months I worked there to see a dozen of workers disappeared. Some of them quit,some were fired. All the coworkers feel their job are threatened by the new hires so they won't train new workers and they don't care if you can come back next day.

As a new worker you don't have good training but the management force you to work like a mule, they move you to new jobs before you finish the old one then question why you can't finish. This is what they called "hard- working culture".

The management never respect a good worker if they don't like you they will viciously set you up and monitor you in cameras to find your mistake then send you home. I saw a good worker been set up and let go. This is what they called "well-managed".

They do "choose" people. They will let their favorite workers sitting and chatting in office for hours the same time force other workers jump between jobs on the floor.

Not a bad luck if they don't hire you!

What is the best part of working at the company?
Fast paced environment, Good Team, Lot of products, Union environment, Very friendly Staff,  Varieties of machines, all team were excellent, it was fun working with team and leading team and achieve Packaging goal on time

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
when there is any shortage of material, in coming packaging material/ingredients 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
it was multicultural and people help each other, it was wonderful experience and higher management always willing to provide training to staff to achieve the Company Goal

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Morning motivational Meeting and packaging target explanation, Number of employees on line, sharing information with lead hands/ Packaging workers online

Production supervisor doesn't reply and does not obey the rules and regulations. All of them have attitude problem and they are rude. Also one QC supervisor and 1-2 senior QC will make your life worst at work. They will start back talking about you to the higher authority. The supervisor will give you lot of work and won't help you. You can't even take your break on time because of that. Supervisor will tell you to do lot of task and will say he doesn't trust others with any task. This'll increase your workload. Tasks are not devided properly at all. If you start asking questions he'll make notes about you and forward it to the higher authority. However, he'll be nice on your face. And the senior QC stays absent for couple of months at a time and whenever she's there she'll not finish her task and that will be on you. Toxic environment.  No one will listen to you there.

Cold and fast-paced environment. making and packaging hamburgers, chicken wings, chicken strips, chicken nuggets, small meatloafs, meatballs and so on. Fairly decent people to work with; every work place will have people you may butt heads with, but it’s how you continue to work alongside someone. Supervisors and management staff are nice. Pay isn’t bad and decent benefits and pension plan. Work Monday-Friday, days or afternoons, nights are for sanitation. Overtime available but not mandatory. 

Terrible work environment, all they care about is pumping out product 0 care for any of the workers within the company and the pay is nothing to write home about either they have such a high turnover rate they always lack sufficient amounts of workers in order to run the lines properly this making it ridiculously hard for all other workers due to supervisors having to constatly move people from the jobs they originally applied for to other spots and jobs in the factory. For example asking/telling line workers to work in the garbage room due to not having enough staff. Don't think you expect to be getting any vacation time off either multiple times me and other ex co-workers would put in vacation time months ahead just to be declined due to insufficiant staff numbers. I STRONGLY urge you not to apply, but if you do. Good luck! 

Worst place I have ever worked.
The day was starting with the feeling of uncertainty. The management expects to complete all the tasks at the same time. Everyone over there is just trying to save their own job. 
Every time I passed that place, I was in fear of not doing something that they would hold me accountable for. 
The work culture is very toxic, and management just cares about production. The instructions given by my manager or supervisor are always biased and unclear. In one meeting, they ask us to do one thing, and the next day they will hold us at fault for doing the exact thing they asked us to do.
I feel very relieved getting out of that horrible place.
