Loved my coworkers , we all would bond over our shared hate of management  at our all woman’s location, the overturn is insane, even the members would comment on how they watched all of their favourite staff leave and move on within WEEKS . I liked the fact that I could wear my own clothing, and the free memebership is nice but the tactics they use to keep people on the calling list make you feel so bad about your own workplace, you feel almost embarrassed after finally harassing someone over the phone to come in, most people will either block or cuss you out over the phone, not to mention we were also expected to be cleaners alongside fitness consultants, When we had house cleaners on shift all day and night cleaners come in, for what ?  you are treated like a number they straight up tell you if you don’t meet their minimum you will be gone, don’t think the staff is all too friendly to Difficult members or even if you had a minor problem, missed payment etc, you  would often times be talked about and ridiculed, what can you expect when you hire only 17-25 year old girls . you are basically taught that you need to get them to sign their name down ,  get their credit card information and what happens after that is basically not your problem. The friendships I made there were the only thing that kept me there for so long members truly do make it worth coming in. Would only recommend working here if you enjoy confrontation and the sound of a phone ringing for 3 hours a day 

I think a misconception typically when getting into the fitness industry is that it is very similar to working out yourself and when people make the first step into any fitness facility as an employee in any role, they realize it is quite different than coming in for your own workouts. Sure you can make your own hours eventually but you are essentially building your own business and that takes time and energy. With help from the company taking a lot of the pressure off of building your own business and providing a constant pipeline, it makes that a lot easier. A lot of people, including myself, heard about all the perks of being a trainer without realizing all the behind the scenes effort it takes to become successful day in and day out and then remain successful long term. You have to be at work when everyone else is off work otherwise you will not have anyone coming in to see you. I take pride in knowing that management consistently ensures that the overall culture of the workplace remains positive with current staff and any new hires as we have to spend our days working very closely together and if our culture sucked, those days would feel even longer. 

Working at GYMVMT has been an incredibly rewarding experience. From the moment I joined the team, I’ve felt supported, valued, and motivated. The gym fosters a positive and welcoming environment, not just for members but for the staff as well. Everyone is passionate about fitness and creating a community that thrives on motivation and personal growth.

One of the best aspects of working here is the incredible work-life balance. The management is flexible with schedules, allowing me to pursue my personal goals and passions while excelling at work. It's truly refreshing to have a role that fits into my life in such a positive way, without feeling overwhelmed or burnt out.

Additionally, the pay here is fantastic! It’s competitive and reflects the hard work and dedication that we put into our roles. It feels great to be compensated fairly for the effort I invest in helping others achieve their fitness goals.

Management does not care about you or want you to succeed or move up in the company. High expectations for a minimum wage job. Expect you to be available 24/7 and have no work-life balance. Will write you up just because you stand up for yourself or disagree with something management says. You will be micromanaged and treated like a number and nothing else and nobody in the company you can talk to about unfair treatment either. They will also weed you out solely if they don't like you and not based on performance. I would avoid this location, especially with the new manager. 

You do get a membership for yourself and another person and if you sell a decent amount of memberships you can get decent pay. The staff was mainly all friendly and good to work with and previous managers as well. You do have to do a lot of calls that can get boring.

- Company doesn't value employees and views them as easily replaceable
- Management plays favorites and are usually unqualified for the position they hold
- Company values sales over quality work
- Management does not enforce employees working within their scope/employees endanger clients by working outside of scope
- Company over hires in order to create a competitive environment and does not promote a cooperative work environment 
- HR and management have refused to act in cases of obvious bullying and inappropriate workplace behavior  
- Company did not disclose to members when an employee was waiting for Covid-19 testing
- Despite what company told members the "increased cleaning and sanitizing practices" for Covid-19 were minimal and staff were told "increasing cleaning is not effective"

What is the best part of working at the company?
Working with my clients , the unfortunate part was the poor management. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Poor management and unfair client distribution. Manager made sure he was kept busy first rather than assigning new clients fairly to all trainers.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
The work environment  was toxic and none supported. Culture , what culture they were struggling to stay afloat as a company and then they went bankrupt!

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Busy with my clients and try to inspire as many new clients and members as a can.

Working here was alright. Unfortunately, there is definitely a lot of pressure from those in head office and that creates a lot of stress at the club level. They push minimum call and appointment numbers onto sales associates which are near impossible to reach when you’re calling sales leads from over a year ago. The majority of your leads are buddy referrals which can be good but also means you’re calling them nonstop and some of them eventually just yell at you to get lost. It feels like you’re harassing people to sign up and feels desperate. Upper management in head office would do well to explore other avenues of bringing in new members and lay off calling since no one answers their phones nowadays anyways. 

This place does not pay well.  They care more about the numbers and micro managing.   They say you are your own business, yet you need to stay within their system.  Until you have been at this company for years, expect them to take 50% of each appointment you have.  And even after being a top trainer, you can only get maybe 65-70% of each appointment.  No compensation for no shows for complimentary services which the clients seem to not feel there is any value in, as they will get that service put back onto account.  You are expected to have mandatory meetings without pay as well as filling out their statistical paper work on your own time amongst other things that you do for free on your own time.   The turnover of trainers is through the roof.  

Worked for this company many years. I did meet some really great people. But, the company does not value the employees or members. The turn over rate is extremely high, most of the management staff power Trips in the role they've been given due to lack of management from head office. I've watched employees and members get bullied by management here. I lost clients because of this.

This company lacks the following 

- Quality control (allowing trainers to provide poor service)
- Employee education or professional development 
- Fair compensation 
- Professionalism 
- Business development of trainers
- A healthy work environment for new employees 
- Communication
-Respect 


What is the best part of working at the company?
There is no best part about working here, stay far away from this place. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
The upper management is heartless and robotic. They make you feel like you are getting fired daily. So much disfunction in one place, for that reason I left this horrendous company. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
There is no culture just the iron fist. My way or the highway.

Caos and disfunction was the norm.
