This place is so toxic! Staff are rude - they don’t offer proper help to train you. They act snarky and expect you to know the flow of the whole office which there is 0 flow.

Staff rotate between every patient which is confusing for yourself and patients. I found it rude there was no direct interaction with the patients. I had no idea who the doctors were as no one properly introduces themselves.

Your lunch is timed very weird and don’t get an exact lunch time every day. The managers just tells you when it’s your time to go and eat which I found childish. Then you’re working in a dark room all day which is not enjoyable.

Your pay is way under paid. I have lots of knowledge in the field and asked if they could match with what I was getting paid which wasn’t a lot before and they turned it down giving me $5 less. I can go on and on about this place. They seem to have a huge turn over with staff which explains!

You’re constantly learning here. There’s always something new to move forward. Staff is kind and pretty much everyone gets along except maybe an argument here or there. Professional and has lots of company events. Like usual places there is an “in-crowd” of people who are closer than others but everyone seems pretty welcoming nonetheless. Pay is above minimum to start, $18/hr. Then after a four month probation you get a review and increase in wage based on performance. 
your lunch start time can differ day to day but it’s always 45 mins long. You start in one job in the morning and then do a different job in the afternoon. Nothing feels too stagnant or boring because it’s a very busy clinic. Some flow and equipment issues can present problems but they are addressed promptly. Love the stability of consistent hours and opportunities for development and overtime. 

They are all about customer service .. however when I worked there , staff was nothing but rude to patients. They never referred to patients by their names and never stayed with them to help compete eye testing - they would all rotate which I thought was bizarre. The staff there was rude and not welcoming, not one person introduced themselves to me on my first day - I might as well have been the wallpaper. Be careful they say they have benefits however you have to work there a year before you get them … you also only make 18 to start for 4 months.. in this economy the amount of work your doing is not worth it. STAY CLEAR 

At Galen it’s fast paced , but when starting the trainers work hard to train each trainee  with detail and take their time to make sure everyone learns each step of each process. Galen is open to cross training there employees and always introducing new education and opportunities. 
This is a company that not only employs you but always thinks of your family too , which is almost unheard of these days . 

My work is very fast paced and busy.  I have been with the company for 12 years.  I learn something new everyday and I am able to move into different positions throughout the clinic. 
The staff are a joy to work with The manager/ trainers take the time to train and explain what each position is all about and why it is important to take each scan or test we do in the clinic. 

No training .. just throw you in and expect you to know what your doing.  Very high stress when you are dealing with patients and their eye sight.  The turnover is ridiculous.

Management NOT friendly .. NOT approachable.  Kept changing what location i was working at without asking whether it worked for me or not.

Staff also not welcoming to new people.  Felt like i was in highschool all over again.

The most enjoyable part of the job was that it was located close to downtown and close to my gym
