Management take on too many projects with a small department and limited resources thus delivering less quality work.  Management also disrespectful and yell at staff. No team spirit and everybody work in silos within departments and between departments. IT department too slow in fixing problems or at times not able to fix at all. No value for employees personal life e.g not flexible with work hours. If you come in early they still expect you to stay till after 5.

Gildan pays good salary however asks a lot and has very high expectations for intermediate or senior level positions. Management often makes wrong decisions and wastes a lot of money on big projects and what not. That said this company is not very effective and its IT department is coping with multiple problems that shouldn’t arise had managers made good decisions before. Staff and some managers are really friendly and nice to work with. 

Great company to work for - entrepreneurial spirit where taking initiatives is encouraged. If you like working in a fast-paced environment and be in contact with multiple cultures, this is the place for you.  Management believes in its employees and employee development is promoted. Good atmosphere and friendly relationships with colleagues. International opportunities.

Solid company, good resources and conditions, many facets to learn (global, manufacturing,  apparel, public, sustainability, etc). Demanding at times but good work climate overall.  Con:  tendancy to overvalue, over-promise and over-invest new ambitious candidates, and tends to under appreciate loyal hard working middle managers.  

Overall great experience, loved working at the company. It truly is a great work place and people are highly professional and willing always to work responsibly as a team in order to achieve company goals.

The only thing different is that at Gildan the workers celebrated all the birthdays,they had a calendar for that.

Lots of work zero creativity and good management 

Benefits are good as the location, they keep only the people that want to stay even if they are not productive or good.

Not suited for everybody. It varies from one department to the other, but work-life balance could be a challenge.

They believe in having a lean corporate office, which bring its amount of stress but also interesting challenges.

Entrepreneurial spirit runs trough the company and drives the employees constantly to challenge the status quo. Demanding remarkable results to be achieved in limited time frame.

Gildan is a serious company with some growing pains but there is a team who's always willing to work and get things done. I consider Gildan a school and definitely learned a lot. You can advance your career if you work really hard and are upfront about your needs.
