I work at the Brantford location. A typical day at work you will be loading/offloading trucks, running product, receiving / putting away product, picking orders, cleaning dock floors, freezer aisles, and dumping bins.

You will learn the SE6 system, safe operating procedures, and how to execute work efficiently as a team. If you catch on quick, are a problem solver or adaptable you will thrive here and there will be opportunity for you to grow.

Management staff can be inconsistent based on what shift you are on with how they handle workflow, problems, etc. Training is mostly done by shadowing experienced operators and can vary by shift, some give you a couple days before sending you on your own, others will train you more long term and have you paired with an experienced operator for weeks before you go on your own. It would be great to see a team that is a bit more consistent and aligned across all shifts to make the experience better for everyone.

Workplace culture can be a mix of good and bad. There are people here that love working here and coming in everyday. There is also people that are unhappy with the workplace, whether it be related to shift handoffs, running into mistakes / lazy work done by others, or even just the condition of the building / machinery. Overall you may find it to be inconsistent with stretches of great culture and stretches of bad culture.

The hardest part of the job will be when you start. Learning procedures, SE6, and driving if you’ve never done it will all take time. If you’re more experienced and coming to work here, you’ll be fine.

The most enjoyable part to me is working with the people here. Almost everyone here that you will talk to is friendly, nice, helpful, and have good senses of humour. 

Overall if you’re looking at working here and you’re someone who takes pride in their work, works hard, problem solves, and holds yourself to a high standard then you will enjoy working here. If you don’t have a good work ethic, don’t care about the quality of your work, or about safety procedures then this place probably isn’t for you.

What is a typical day like? A typical day consists of showing up and completing work that has been passed over by several others. Most of the employees pick and choose the work they want to do. The supervisors are essentially babysitters who have little control over the children. 

What do I believe I learned? You would have to be a toxic person to succeed in this company.

What is the management like? Management is tough to explain. As stated, you’d have to be toxic to succeed here. Decisions are made poorly and are based on personal preference, as opposed to what is best for business.

What is the workplace culture? Can I leave it at toxic? They have cleaned up some of the problem areas, but there is still one very toxic person at the top of the mountain.

What is the hardest part of the job? Trying to take pride in anything you do. Trying to look past all of the awful things you’ve witnessed and still doing your best to have an optimistic outlook. Defending awful people and their toxic leadership because I was a “company guy”. 

What is the most enjoyable part of the job? The people you will meet. Some of them are not the best workers, but they’re great people once you get to know them.

I would not recommend this company to anyone. 2-3 good workers per department, per shift isn’t enough to qualify for a healthy work environment.

Some of the people like me as person and I new things that they weren't moving me up



What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
In the four years I was employed there April will not treating me like they want to be treated it's way life should be


What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Working in the cold was very hard to get warm when you go outside and then come back in especially in the winter time and the people some of the people I worked with we're very pleasant

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Go in and get towers 
Out of the freezer and break them down and get them ready for packaging

The place isn’t horrible, but i definitely don’t feel safe when I walk through the doors for my shift. Very little training for operators before sending them off to pull pallets from racking. Then get scolded for making errors. ie. dropping pallets. Management expects employees to take on these training roles without a boost in wage or incentive? Shadowing they call it. Management could really use a good shaking up on all fronts in the warehouse, throughout all shifts and aspects of day to day procedures, better pay for skill level/special duties for starters could really help with morale and productivity in the workplace.

The HR & management team are terrible. They don’t give a chance to train properly.  The where house is slippery and icy & not safe , the employees are very rude , not cooperative, the place is extremely cold . I was hired the first day and got fired the same day due to improper training & without due process, investigation, the employees & managers have personal preferences as to what type of people they want to train &  work with, if the managers don’t like certain group of people, they will find little excuses to fire u furthermore, the pay is low ,super fast pace in a dangerous work environment so please think twice before working in this company, I will not recommend it ! 

The mamangement on afternoons is a joke, they let anyone get away with anything and they don't take any real problems seriously. Would not return or recommend to anyone. The other employees were great but the management was awful, say one thing do another and never discipline anyone no matter what. If I could give it less than one star I would. I hope this helps people not work there, save yourself the time and find a place that actually cares because confederation is a waste of your time.

Pay was good, benefits, overtime.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
I was a lead Hand, so having an expectation to meet quota and if not getting SCREAMED at the next day by day shift lead. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
It was good, office management was super nice on both shifts.  Expectations were decent. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
So to work, clock in, go to floor, pick order, set up team in their positions for the night, work until the shift was over

Lack of training, put people on single and double pallet jacks, dock stockers, and reaches without any training  !!! Pallets hanging out of racking , pallets not placed in racking properly which is a accident looking to happen!! Very dangerous work environment. Need to really up the training. People would stay if they felt that the employer would train you so that you knew how to operate the equipment safely . 

Currently working on the bread line here.  The people are friendly; fast-paced job.  You can move around the line so you are not doing the same task all shift.   Management is professional and friendly.  In my experience, workplaces always have that one toxic person who tries to bring everyone down with their negativity and self entitlement; best thing to do is ignore them as they are only looking for an audience.  I am very thankful to be working at Confederation  Freezers during these uncertain  circumstances with covid.

The job could be great if Management could organize product and hold everyone accountable for their work. Supervisors are so unprofessional it is ridiculous.  Favoritism is rampant and you only matter if you work on day shift, which you will most likely never get!
