Golden Plough Lodge

When I first started is was great worked tons of shifts doubles all the time. All staff more or less got along, Management liked to play favorites, the last year I was there. Good staff got picked on when they tried to help other staff with troubles. Email sent plus plus about staff leaving res on bed pans for hours, staff hide when work was to be done, or passed out drunk somewhere, Management knew and drive staff home and punish the other staff who say something, make there life miserable. Until they quit do to there nerves being so bad staff making them feel like they were horrible workers very clicky staff and would gang up on staff til they were fired or quit. Unfortunately lots of bad apples and they seem to keep them and the good ones leave, tired of picking up the slack form those who don't show up to work or don't pull they're weight. I love being a PSW and this place almost made me give up my career. 24 years PSW STRONG. 

Great place to work.90% of job giving medications.Rest of day feeding residents ,wound care,oxygen therapy.Visting with residents and talking to families finished off with documentation.I learned that population is aging and there is not always enough time for residents.Management not always supportive.Workplace culture consisted of gossiping and not always kind to each other.The hardest part of job is not having enough staff or time for residents.The most enjoyable part of job is helping residents and knowing you have done a good job.

good pace  very fast pace   and  you need to be somewhat organized    love meeting people and getting to know the residents    need to have a strong stomach and to be able to handle various of illness  staff to resident ratio isn't the best so u got to be fast in a professional manner  be expected to get involved in the odd cat fight ect  are bunch of perks too   overall good place great people

The position that I held had me running off my feet helping the elderly and exhausted by the end of my 8-hour shift. The only way to get through the shift was having fun with the residents and co-workers. This was always encouraged by management and made the organization a great place to work for.

When I started there 8 years ago it was great for the first 5 years and then there was New management and the place went downhill I ended up leaving and it's just one even more downhill worst place to work now only thing good about it is the $30 an hour for PSW

i learned alot doing my placement at this long term care facility, 
i loved the people i worked with, patients and staff.
the hardest part of my job was leaving at the end of the day and saying good by to my patients,

I love my job at the plough, BUT I find that from the offices to the staff on the floor is sometimes unorganized. Everyone has been incredibly nice to me so no complaints there. Just unorganized at times.

Management is always changing and often point the finger rather than encourage staff to be their best. Can be a hard place to fit in. Some staff are quick to report other staff.

Management was very flexible with hours and appreciated the extra help 
Overall a good experience

Residents made going to work everyday a joy and pleasure. Golden Plough was my home away from home. Co workers enjoyed being part of a team and were always there for assistance and helping with work load.
