Started working at this company 2023 it was a good company got laid off for the winter came back mid April 2024 to all new Managment and dispatchers for the trucking division. I thought ok I will give it a try.  well I lasted not even three months .  I was the first driver called out  when the season started and would drop anything I was doing if they would call me to work. Long story short a month down the line I am seeing all kinds of new drivers come through the doors being told they were right out of truck driving school. I’m like ok you need to start somewhere .   so yeah welcomed them not a problem. another month passes more and more brand new drivers are pouring through the door well pretty soon the first driver that was called out for the season is sitting at home to accommodate to many drivers for the amount of trucks they have . long story short was stressed out daily wondering if I was going to be working or not  no set schedule to stick by and was micromanaged to the point of no return even though I  have at least 8 years driving tandem dump truck…….  so I found another job. I would NOT recommend working here at all until dispatcher and truck manger are gone. They are horrible.

Management at first was nice and helpful over the phone but once on site their true colors showed up almost immediately.  The lack of safety and Management refusing to communicate between each other is insane. Management is not knowledgeable about the job and was winging it by the hour. They were always trying to figure out giving us random hours and no breaks more than 30 mins per day on 12 hour shifts. The bosses enjoyed long lunches and several breaks during each day. 
Never could get time off for family appointments. The pay check wasn't never worth any hassel. Between employees could be challenging because the bosses always favored the select few regardless of their efforts and work ethic.
Avoid this company if you can afford it. It's a true revolving door of employees.

You’re expected to handle groups of temps, do things way outside your typical and reasonable scope because we’re “family” and at the end of the day you get a pat on the head and asked to do more. If you’re looking to do 50+ “favours” a year because they don’t want to hire proper supervision to cover the front end prep work then this is the place for you.
The “leadership” that is in place is grossly under qualified to the point of being flat out dangerous. If you’re a labourer with an IQ of four you’re better off going to get your own engineering degree at lake head, you’ll get accepted and likely do a better job running a ship.

I’d go else where like I’m doing after my current site . They brag about all the work they got but I’ve been bounced around from small job to small job finding it hard to get above 40 to 50 hours a week starvation. In between jobs they will tell u your going to a particular site but fails to tell u it don’t start for another month n leave you hanging and hungry and office ignores your calls till they need u . Even tho there’s workers needed on another site they don’t communicate enuff with the out of work people to place them where they are neeeded highly unorganized 

You'll have a job, but you won't be making an income because you won't be doing anything. But if you luck out and actually get sent somewhere, good luck on anyone having a clue what's going on. The communication between the field and the office is clearly done with pigeons, because it's nonexistent. Supervisors don't know crew is even hired, then your abilities are questioned because you don't fit in with their little group. Good place if you're in a rut and need a rent cheque between jobs. Equipment is clean and up to date. That's if it shows up. 

Dump trucks devision favors thier own kind fresh out of driving school,  more than 1 set of rules  incidents get swept under the carpet unless you disagree with dispatch then they throw the book at you.  They will tell you what you want to hear to your face then change the rules or work scope behind your back and hang you if something goes wrong.  Support staff in the shops are very good  and supportive. 
Management doesn't follow the same rules as the workers. 

I have to admit that the experience was truly disappointing. When I joined the company, I was expecting a strong dedication for a lasting partnership, however, it seems that the company lacks consistency in upholding their own principles (if they have any) and fostering a supportive work environment where employees feel both invested and motivated to contribute towards positive outcomes.

Long hours good pay but foremen lack leadership abilities. The hr team is useless and ghost you. The union is just as bad taking your money but doing nothing for you. You will be better off working somewhere else especially since some of the foremen have a strong addiction to certain substance s. They preach safety yet do nothing to ensure it.

Okay where to start the skills of most of the office and foremans are unbelievable poor the only reason that you would stick around there is to see what the next stupid thing they might do don't be discouraged because the next one is even better if you are the best of the best you are still no match for the egos of some haha no future friends

I was  hired to run a grader? All I got to do is look at it. I'm a highly skilled operator and running graders. All I got to  run was a cat didn't mind running the cat, I  didn't like great job, great job day in and Day Out and then getting put into a machine.  I didn't know how to run or like to run.
 Feeling like I was put in the penalty box for a job well, not done.
