When organizations have a hybrid model, they need to understand promoting work life balance is integral to that model. But because this is an organization where majority of employees are older millennials and boomers, there is zero flexibility. You come in at 9:02 your manager wants you out the door at 5:02 no exceptions. You're commuting from Toronto and the weathers bad? Nope you gotta come in because your manager is. It got to a point where I was afraid to ask to go home early because I wasn't feeling well. Such an old school org that will not hold up its culture long term with younger employees who love flexibility and have that option at other orgs. Heard similar complaints from interns, when I sat with them one day, managers are too strict and old school. One intern told me their manager told them they had to be informed if they were going off property for their lunch. Seriously? Their unpaid time? I could never stay at this org as a younger employee. I was told "this is corporate life" this was my third corporate job, and now I'm at my fourth, no other organization had the lack of flexibility and rigid rules as this one. So no management, it's not "corporate life" it's just you guys not wanting to change your mindsets and cultures to modern standards

•	Design, build and support of (RHEL based) Oracle Linux servers for Oracle EBS deployment in a predominately Windows environment
•	Securing of Linux and Windows servers for PCI compliance, including firewalling and IPsec encryption
•	Implementation of customized network deployment solution for rapid Linux server deployment on IBM Blade hardware with SAN storage
•	Integrated AD authentication for Linux servers to enable centralized user management
•	Prepared detailed documentation and training to hand-off Linux servers to Windows support staff
•	Virtualization of Linux servers under Microsoft Hyper-V 2008 & 2012 based cloud infrastructure
•	Web server usage monitoring and reporting using Splunk
•	Troubleshooting of communication problems across application, server and network layers, by coordinating resources across teams
•	Performance improvements of secure file transfer system (Accellion FTA)

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
They do everything last minute and expect you to rush.  Everyone is our to get each other in management.  Too many secrets.  Lots of negative feedback.  Employees well being is the bottom of their priority.  They ask employees their opinions on making it a better place but scold everyone if they don't get positive feedback.  

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Not good.  The culture with the general laborers and each other is good.  With management it is very poor. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Running like a chicken with your head cut off.  Wondering what you will be in trouble for next.

a typical day at work is one where the manager is not present to provide any guidance or have any acocuntability over what youdo 
theres not much to learn here except that you better watch out incase you mess up in any of your responsibiltis or becaome a vicim of favoritism
management tries to deflect blame to the effect that they will call themselves a co worker so you can lead a project that is about to fail
the hardest part of the job is to stay sane amidst favoritism, lack of accountibility on managements part, and the fingerpointing and character assisination that takes place after the fact
the most enjoyable part that you survived albeit all the drama that took place.

A typical day was exciting and full filling, i learned a lot at this company and i was able to do a 3 year process operators apprenticeship. The management do care about the employees. Workplace culture is good and everyone works as a team. The hardest part of the job was during shutdowns. The most enjoyable part of the job was when i took the time to trace lines and do my own piping sketches of the process.

I am very fortunate to have had the experience of being part of a start up company.  The first few years were very challenging and rewarding.  My departments ranks first on our employee survey due to the great team I have.  I enjoy mentoring my group and helping them fulfill their career aspirations.  The most difficult part of the job has been having to terminate employees for a variety of reasons.  Although I enjoy the company, and my department I am looking for a new position with a greater challenge.  I would like to focus on my personal growth and development.

I absolutely loved working at Greenfield Global. This is the largest company I’ve ever worked for that is still privately owned and you can tell by the way employees are treated. Work is always fun and everyone at the Tiverton plant was like one big family. Shift work always sucks but the pay compensates for that and I was always encouraged to learn and grow. The only reason I left is because I moved to a province where they do not have any of their facilities. I miss my operator job at Greenfield every day. 

Greenfield Global is a diverse company with an amazing work culture.  The opportunities for career growth play a tremendous factor in the tenure of the workforce.  In 12 years with the company I have advanced in 4 different roles and have always felt engaged, supported and encouraged to grow.

Responsible for the switchboard and direction of calls from clients, office assistant to the Executives as needed, responsible for daily office operations, taking care of expenses for the Executives, assist with Executive travel arrangements.  Responsible for office supplies, couriers (in & out), office mail distribution and office equipment maintenance.

Greenfield has a unique culture which is very friendly. Their goal is to help improve the planet and that was a big reason I applied for the position.  I feel valued and my voice is heard.  There are lots of resources at site as well and they try to make things fun for a workplace.  Everyone is professional and there are lots of staff with a large amount of experience and knowledge that make the company successful.
