H.M.C.S. Acadia

I enjoyed working as a sail instructor, and found it to be highly rewarding. I enjoyed teaching others how to sail fast and properly in different weather conditions. I take pride in knowing I preformed my job to the best of my abilities, and was successful in recruiting cadets into the sailing trade. 
The hardest part of my day was motivating staff to continue sailing after lunch time.

working here was a divisional officer over the summer was the best job I ever had, I loved working with my kids everyday and helping them obtain and progress their objectives. the team is very encouraging and will help you when you need it.

It was a lot of work looking after 20 teenagers and keeping them in line and on schedule. The days were long and you were always on the go. Sunday was pretty much your only day off and once a week you could pay $2 to ware your normal clothes.

Instructed motor boat operation to teenagers. Culture was relaxed so long as you did what your were told. Must live on location, however are paid for 7 days a week at a rate of 74 $ a day. Must weekends and evenings off at 4pm except for the odd time where I was needed supervise a dance or movie.

HMCS Acadia. Words cannot describe how amazingly fun it is to work there as a staff cadet. The opportunity you get there is second to none and it is the best job that a teen can have in the summer.

Working at a Cadet summer camp was an interesting experience. I worked long hours but received great pay. I also learned a lot about the secretary job as well as general office organisation.

summer camp it is like a boot camp and a camp togeher is not strict but it is in a sence i learnded music in a house that was big and nice met our needs

It was overall an amazing summer employment opportunity! Hard work at times, but very rewarding when you manage to teach a new concept to a younger cadet. I would recommend working there.

I only had this job during some summers.  It was good, dealing with some cadets who were troublemakers was somewhat rough, but overall the job was just okay.

HMCS Acadia is a summer cadet camp and I've been there every summer since I've joined. It's crazy fun and I've got the chance to become a staff cadet!
