Health Care Aid

I believe and strive to go to work happy and make a difference and make people smile, it may be the only time they smile that day.
I am great with people and customer service! My background in health care has helped a lot with customers and understanding there needs and mental state.
A typical part of the job was to access on a daily basis of what was going on and with whom. Adapt to their daily needs and how to go about achieving the goal for their best well being. 
I have learned to adapt to how and what they were going through each and every day and change my approach to there needs. 
Workplace culture...... I Love working with others. I have cooked meals and brought them in for everyone to enjoy. I love to cook and enjoy sharing for everyone to be able to sit down and enjoy time together! I found it really bring people together that might otherwise not have talked or sat together as a work family.     
The hardest part of my job was the fact that family seemed to no longer care about their family members due to there illness, so we just brought them in closer to us. 
The most enjoyable part was making them smile and feel loved every day! I spent a lot of my own money making sure they had what they needed. I would not change that for a second! 
I believe you have to have good support from your management team to be successful.

Normally worked a 12 hour shift and I would have to travel in rural parts of Lethbridge County in Alberta.
Hardest part of the job is when you would lose a client as normallly when you were placed with a client you where with them  tell they either left there own homes and moved in to Nursing Homes or Sadly pass away at home.  I enjoyed each and everyday, you cant help but grow a bond with each and everyone of them. Even if at first a client is apprehensive or reluctant to except the assistant with care, meals or just someone to socialize with they all came around and we grew great bonds and most of the time this would also include their spouses and extended family.

Provides restorative care for residents which includes assisting with ambulation, feeding, bathing and grooming.
-Consults with and informs Program Manager and/or charge nurse of any needs or problems related to resident care.
- assisting residents to prepare for and assisting them to and from activities.
-Assists with meals,
-provides feeding assistance to those patients who require it.
-I report any changes of patients appetite to the Rn or dietart staff as needed
-Provides emotional and social support to residents/families.

Very fast paced environment. Everyday you learn something new on resident care and met new people and residents families. Management is easy to get along with and care for their employees and residents. Co-workers are a great team to work with and very easy to get along with. Hardest part of the job is to lose a resident. The most enjoyable part is knowing that at the end of the day you got to help someone that was for some way not able to help themselves and have the feeling that you made someone elses day better.

I went to work every day with smile on my face because I realy loved to work at SSH.
I learned so much about nursig,how to make good comunication with people,and I learned to be a better person.
Management was so good.
I also loved to work with everybody at SSH,and I was a team player.
For me the hardest part of this job was when you lose somebody from your residents.when they past away.
The most enjoyable part of the job is when you do your work good and everybody is happy .

residents ready for daily care, wash, bath, daily grooming, dress, feed. check out care plans. change, peri care wash. co- wokers team players for transfers with hoyer lifts or sit to stand lifts( sara lifts). the hardest part would be when the residents passes on. I enjoy being a health care aide to be able to help our elders live comfortably and happy. I also can work as a cashier or customer service work at wal mart. front end jobs.

A typical day was providing there ADL so there were able to live in there own homes and be independent as possible.. I was able to get to know all different kinds of cultures and i have learnt how to communicate better.. The hardest part of my job was seeing them suffer and saying goodbye when the time came.. The enjoyable part of my job was and is that when i come into work and see there smiling faces and laughing with them brought much joy to my heart !!!

In a psychiatric setting where I am working we always collaborate with interdisciplinary team, to avoid unsafety issues with our residents. Our main goal is to provide safety for everyone both workers and residents. The management is great and co workers are awesome. The hardest part of the job is their challenging behaviour. Most enjoyable part of the job is by talking and listening to our residents concern.

we worked as a team with our co-worker, and I must to solve the challenge that faces to our clients.the hardest part of the job is to find the truth that our clients wanted because culture differences. The most enjoyable part of the job is that the clients showed they need me.

typical day shift is waking up residents, dressing them and getting them ready for breakfast. After residents eat breakfast 6 of them will get a bath that day, each health care aid does one bath. Lunch time comes around, after residents eat most lay down for a nap and some stay up for activities. Hardest part of my job is not getting attached to the residents. I enjoy hearing all about their life growing up.
