What is the best part of working at the company?
The best part was when I finally got to leave the soulless corporation it has become. It was much different when it was lafarge. Now the upper end employees just laugh in the faces of its actual workers while firing people left and right and posting record profits. You are treated like an animal and it is extremely disappointing. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
The management is unqualified for their positions leading to an ever increasing amount of stress and product issues. They put in positions in order for slash costs at any means including quality. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Demeaning and disrespectful. The people you work with are pinned against each other and left in the dark to keep a state of confusion and control.they often say they “ can’t have the workers running this company “ 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Get to work early , clock in via paper time cards, have management through some random issue in you’re face that they have created from a lack of communication, back breaking labour , clock out and change in a dirty taco trailer with 100 other guys

Being an administrator means being someone of all trades. In this position you can bounce from computer tech to party planner and everything in between. That is one exciting this about this job is always having a new project on the go or another challenge to over come. Within Lafarge we have specific systems that need to be used to do our daily routine. Starting with our billing and payrolls. After this is when things start to move about differently everyday. Working with Lafarge has taught me a lot about dealing with various types of people and learning to truly self manage and self discipline myself. Everyone bring something different to the table within this corporation. I have worked with a variety of people and each one has taught me something to take to the next. Patience and understanding is the biggest key in any business. The hardest part of this job would be the lack of training provided. The most enjoyable part of this job is once you cross that hurdle you are so comfortable in the work you do and that you have the most unlimited support to help you along the way.

I thoroughly enjoyed my time with Lafarge, and continue to look back on great times and good people. I worked for a Cement plant and at the head office during my time with the company. Both locations had gereat, intelligent people and a good team culture. I regret leaving the company, but I had a lengthy commute and that drove my decision.

The company takes care of it's employees. When the plant I worked at closed, nearly every staff member was offered a job at other plants within the organization, myself included. Even some of the hourly employees were offered jobs, the company paying moving expenses to bring people to the other side of the country. I felt safe the entire time I worked with Lafarge.

The company takes training and coaching very seriously. I didn't ever feel like i wasn't properly informed of my duties, or that I didn't have good istruction on any task I was given. There were a number of opportunities to go outside my standard job description and increase my visability with the organization. Looking back, I really wish I could get back into the organization, and would jump at the opportunity.

A typical day involves conducting pre-operation inspections, operating mobile equipment to move materials, and coordinating with team members to meet production goals. I’ve learned advanced equipment operation skills, safety compliance, and effective communication in a fast-paced industrial environment. Management is generally supportive and prioritizes safety, while the workplace culture promotes teamwork and accountability. The hardest part of the job is working in extreme weather conditions, but the most enjoyable part is the sense of accomplishment from meeting targets and the camaraderie with coworkers.


busy day , many costumer to entertain.I learned to become more patient in terms of facilitating and assisting employees concerns. The hardest part was when I was instructed to facilitate training which is my first time. Nobody helped me to organized the said training but it ended successfuly. The most enjiyable part was when my HR family thought me how to do things and how to work under pressure. It was so fun working with my holcim family. great people are working there. sharing knowledge and learnings.

They really take safety of their employees, the public and the environment seriously. They pay very well. You'll work long hours and they have lots of overtime so if you enjoy the money you'll enjoy the overtime. They treat the employees well and have team building days and lunches at a restaurant. They have a big safety meeting once a year for all of the lower mainland/GVR employees and pay for lunch, snacks and drinks. Its an overall great company to work for and I would work for them again in a heartbeat.

Wages. Ready Mix Trucks. Lack of flexibility to accommodate you when injured. Poor Management structures

environment around other workers who are new hires, young, cocky, and believe they know it all.

This company is becoming cheaper all the time when it comes to management and the employees. The employees are considered a second class. All the management disregards the concerns of the employees when it comes time for you to stress Your concerns, they have little regard to what you have to say. One of the worst companies I'll never work there again

Every day was an interesting day at LafargeHolcim as I dealt with employee relations, HR operational activities, payroll, union agreements and benefits. I enjoyed the variety and face paced environment while working with peers and colleagues from different parts of the world. It was not always easy, but my team and I were resilient and persevered through the many challenges.

Short stay with Holcim Cement was a very productive one. I was able to increase my knowledge in SAP system at the same time was able to know  to communicate other business units using the lotus notes. My co-workers were so helpful, they make sure the newly  hired employees can immediately cope up and adjust with the systems and guidelines imposed by the company after explaining to them.
