• Reviewed valve piping packages for proper documentation. Ensured that fire safe certificates, material certificates, ratings, codes, etc., were in compliance with applicable Specifications.
• Worked with vendors and other departments to resolve any problems identified during the review process.
• Validated Material Data Sheets for proper documentation and confirmed dimensions and materials to pipe specifications, P&ID’s and line list of process materials.
• Generated daily material takeoffs based on new revisions of isometrics
• Reviewed Workpack documentation for proper certification and procedures(materials, welding, painting). 
• Monitored status of Workpack orders. 
• Verified completion and/or informed site engineers of Workpacks which required completion.
• Resolved any problems encountered by working with relevant personnel

I learned what is involved in the building of a FPSO. I  also learned that I am capable of working in a fast paced environment as well as with many different people.

Management was professional and good to work with and taught me a lot about the offshore industry as well as professionalism in the workforce. 

My co-workers were professional, helpful and very goal oriented.

The hardest part of the job 

The most enjoyable part of the job was getting experience in a very proficient and professional group of people and organization.

I worked for husky for 3 years and at all three locations in Kamloops. The “Paul lake” husky was more of a fast paced environment, “Sahali” husky was more chill and had great management, but the “Valleyview” husky was terrible. The manager (in my experience) was/is a bully. The coworkers I had were all pretty good and I made some good friends. Plenty of incentives throughout the year for gift cards plus any mystery shops you pass you got a chance to get like 50-100 dollars I think? Cleaning was easy enough but when we switched to a new owner it was clear all he cared about was making money and didn’t care about the employees, even going as far as threatening my job security when I failed my first mystery shop under his ownership. I’ve seen plenty of good employees that I had worked with leave because the owner wasn’t that great. I wouldn’t recommend working at the huskys in Kamloops unless you’re okay with the micromanagement of the boss. 

It was a great working place, customers and coworkers are usually nice, I'm outdoors for the most part, there is always something to do, even if there is nothing to do around the store. Management and salary are a little poor due to the local owner being a little cheap (only paying minimum wage, not bothering to fix the car wash, etc.). But my coworkers are very nice, they helped me when I needed it, as well as being fun to hang around. And the tips here can be pretty sweet (sometimes money, sometimes a random item like I got a lottery ticket once).

However, that changed when we switched to prepay, we wound up having less customers than usual, and when there is nothing to do, there is nothing we can do to pass the time.

Overall, the experience is pretty good, and if there is a husky that doesn't have prepay and a help wanted sign, I'd suggest taking it, even if it's just for work experience.

*first of all, i  opened my shift on cash register then counting cigarettes while serving customer.
then, i cleaned the store from the counter to windows to the main door, add on fridge and coffee place.
after that i did stocking shelves with products.
while i was doing that i provided security for the facility.

* i learned more about customer service as well as solving problems with customer or with technician support.

*i had known all the co-workers around 7 workers.i made a good relation ship with them and i'm still in touch with some of them even after i left my work.

*the hardest part of the job; i would say dealing with technician support and serving customers on the same time which i used to do that at least twice a week.most of the time it used to end up on satisfied way for the customer , technician and me.

*the most enjoyable part was communicating with customers and making small talk with them.

Great co-workers, with a lot of chances of getting involved in the community. Regular customers willing to lend a hand and willing to have fun with you for the brief moment they are at the Register. Co-workers are also always willing to help and most of the store duties get split between the 2-4 person team working. The hardest part, I find, is the drive-offs. People who gas and dash have become my worst nightmare, as it affects the dynamics of the entire shift. Management is under a lot of pressure to ensure that "off-limits" products are stocked, paper-work is done and accounts are balanced. Workers are under the pressure to not let anything be stolen, handle secret-shoppers, keep a clean and organized environment, and not get too caught up in story telling or sharing with customers.

a. Worked long hours consisting inventory inspection, Orders, daily accounts, analyzing prospect fleet customers and many more activities.

b. Learned different ways to increase sales, ways to solve customer problems, ways to handle busy environment.

c. Learned about back office management and training the new employees. 

d. It was good learning to work as supervisor as it sharpened my skills on human resource management.

e. The hardest part of job was to manage the workflow on strict timeline and the most enjoyable part was working on busy peak hours.

Horrible conditions. I had no running water, was only allowed to leave the til area to make coffee. two weeks unpaid training. no sick days. Korean management didn't know or understand much English, so i had trouble trying to get help with corrections.

I had to use an 18L water jug to wash my hands and flush the toilet.

No lunch, No breaks. Paid full price for any food I did pick up to eat, but could not have it visible to customers. 

Not allowed to stock shelves, sweep or mop store.

No allowed to talk to friends or acquaintances while at work.

No record of employment or T4 given until I demanded it vwith help of CRA.

A typical day at work consist of taking care of customers needs and to make sure they're satisfied with our services. I have learnt that a customer service job requires patience and discipline. The most difficult responsibility is when several customers are there and I have to multitask. But by remaining calm and using time management skills and paying attention to detail, no mistakes are made. The most fun part of the job is putting a smile on a customers face after their needs have been fulfilled.

Serving food and taking orders. Cleaning was always mandatory on the job. Learned a lot about multitasking and how to keep customers patient if the kitchen was backed up. Management wasn't the best yet wasn't the worst. Lack of communication through management and didn't deal with bad situation well. Hardest part was keeping up with the rush. Most enjoyable was getting to talk to the customers and talking to people all over the world.

The manager at the store actually wanted you to be confrontational with customers . During covid we were told not to say anything to customers not wearing a mask while there was a mandatory mask mandate , just told us to serve them quickly. No concern for staff or customers  we were all told how easy it was to replace us.
