What is the best part of working at the company?
It was all about the people I worked with coupled with how Ilsco treated their employees. Sadly, the company, along with 5 other divisions, were purchased in 2019 and  ALL locations were moved to 2 locations in Mexico, in July 2022, and all Ilsco employees were permanently laid off, which forced retirement for me.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Ensuring items that I purchased ( be it for manufacturing or for our customers), were delivered in a timely manner, including the “ Logistics” task aka making my own freight decisions 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Environment was excellent, helping each other, and having a bit of fun while doing so. The support was amazing. The culture was also excellent, and monitored very closely by our GM

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
I routinely worked 11 hours a day ,along with Saturdays if needed, no overtime , my choice, to stay on top of various issues, be it sourcing expediting or seeking freight quotes. I truly enjoyed my job, and my work ethic was appreciated by both co-workers and management. Needless to say, I was extremely busy

Overall, a great place to work.  Excellent training provided when employment started.  Decent benefits.  Compensation (pay) very good for the work that you do with small yearly increases to support the additional costs of living (inflation).  Lots of optional overtime.  Leadership/management was generally easy-going - never adversarial or threatening but always fair.  Culture can be described as mostly "laissez-faire" with everyone accepted for their individuality.  Many learning opportunities and sometimes chances for advancement.  Most difficult part:  large number of parts (to manufacture) with many characteristics to control and monitor.  Most enjoyable part:  company lunches, barbecues, Christmas parties and vacation time.

Difficult place to work on the night shift. No maintenance help at night. You are maintaining 30 year old machines 50%  of your shift, cleaning and running, fixing and adjusting machines the rest of the time. Very stressful to work.
The facility is very old, 30 + years and needs modern upgrade. Technician fixing their own machines and doing too much maintenance. Management very slow on making improvements and upgrades. They use a band aid approach to fix their issues, rather than getting to the root cause.

The problem at ilsco is they expect you to do your job with minimal errors but equip you with the most outdated broken down machines imaginable. I dare them to refute this and post pictures of their current hardware at this plant. I understand wanting good work performance and being upset if the operator or worker is at fault but you cannot give someone bad tools and except good results.

Ilsco is a terrible place to work. The pay at first glance seems good for an entry postion.. but they have lowered it alot over the years. The training is very minimal and yet their expectations are super high. They do not value their employees and will fire anyone at any given moment. They just do not seem to care for their workers.

nothing at all everthing have to be on time

very  nice no rush long you do your job

i worked at Ilsco, dixie & lakeshore. i was layed-off from the car industry, i had about 10 years service. i applied at ilsco, worked there for awhile, then i got called back to the car industry. so, i went back. over all ilsco is a good company, was happy there, the people where good, management is o.k. wish i never left there, if i stayed, would of been around 15 years working there.

This company really knows how to treat it employee with great benefits and bonuses, also we were able to bank hours in order to get lieu days, Management really cares about there employees, a very fast pace environment which made time fly, very demanding but very satisfying, I loved this job.

Supervisors always try to find excuses to give you verbal & written warning.

Pay may sounds a lot, but this company have lots of weird regulations and rules, specially with this new general manager.

Company was acquired by financial corporation and sadly decided to move to Mexico .
It’s in process of moving to 2 locations.
Which doesn’t make sense because 
They don’t have enough tooling to run efficiently and they product will not have the same quality.
