Like other reviews said, management doesn’t seem to care much about the high turnover, and I don’t think they understand how it affects everyone. Training sessions are mostly aimed at all the new people every few months, so don’t expect to learn or grow too much after the first 6 months. Seems most people last a year and then move on to something else. 

It makes sense for a nonprofit like this to think this way internally, but letting your staff know they’re never a priority is an interesting managerial choice. People are scared to talk in meetings when management/supervisors are there, because it’s better to just not say anything and blend in to the background. It’s tough to know who in management to turn to when you have questions, because you never know when you’ll get in trouble for not already knowing something. All of this adds up to feeling really replaceable and like you’re not worth investing much in, again because they’re probably so used to the turnover and accepted it as normal.

If you want to learn a lot in a year and have something that looks nice on your resume it’s good, but it doesn’t feel like there’s much room to grow or build a career here.

Lots of potential to do exciting things, but they always seem just out of reach. I hope it turns around soon.

Working as an Educational Facilitator offers a deeply meaningful opportunity to support inclusion, but the daily experience varies drastically because the roles are vastly different from one facilitator to the next which substantially impacts team morale . The organization frequently uses the word "ambiguous" to describe the work, which unfortunately translates to unclear expectations and a total lack of concrete guidance.

The workplace culture can also be incredibly challenging; there is a rigid, top-down mindset, and it can feel alienating or difficult if you do not completely agree with Inclusion Alberta’s specific way of thinking. This environment contributes to a noticeably high turnover rate among staff.

Management frequently falls short when it comes to operational support. Coordinators often hire for specialized roles that they themselves have never actually supported, leading to a disconnect in understanding what the job actually entails. When you attempt to address burnout or ask for help, there is a concerning lack of follow-through or meaningful support from leadership. Combined with extremely low compensation that doesn't match the heavy demands of the role, it is a very difficult environment to sustain long-term. 

This is the best job I have ever had. Incredibly supportive co-workers, supervisors, and managers. At any time I feel like I could call and work through any problems. There is great autonomy in being creative and thinking large. Very few jobs I have had that let you truly make an impact. This job does require you to be a quick thinker and problem solve which isn't everyones strong point- if you're looking for an easy job, this isn't for you. If you are looking to make a social change in the disability sector- its a great fit. Every job has draw backs, work life balance can be tuff, but mainly because there is always work to be done. I love my job.

Ive worked the last few years in a few different roles and love my job at Inclusion Alberta. You get to work closely with families, and students and faculty- it is like no other job. There are stressful times for sure, but honestly it can be stressful working at any job. Very few jobs do we get to help people take classes at University, and find amazing careers, and have the best life. My 2 supervisors have been amazing rocks, even when they do not live in the same city. Its a pretty remarkable place to be. 
This is a job where you get to do good work... The hardest part is juggling  work life balance, not my strong suit to start with though.

One of the only non-profit organization that is governed by parents of individuals with developmental disabilities. A supportive environment that challenges your reflective and critical thinking skills when it comes to Inclusion. Partnerships and Initiatives are well thought out and lives are changed daily. 

The idea behind Inclusion Alberta is great, sadly the follow through is lacking. High turnover is probably from staff not feeling valued by management (the poor benefits doesn't help). The goals of the organization seem good, but the efforts aren't lasting and don't seem to have long term impact. Very hierarchical, and not a lot of tolerance for diverse thinking, but some opportunities to be creative and form good relationships on the ground level.

A great organization to work for who cares for the people with developmental disabilities and their families. Standard pay to live your life. I had to attain several fundraising meetings and a family conference; I had a chance to meet with parents and listen to ti them how grateful they are to the organization. I truly recommend people to work at the Inclusion Alberta.

Leadership at Inclusion Alberta means well but they are not very good at following through. The job itself it not well structured so employees need to do a lot of self-organization. Often employees need to ask for support if they feel they need guidance at work. Turnover is high so leadership doesn’t always take time to get to know employees. Ok job if you’re looking for a place to launch a career.

Supporting students in an inclusive post-secondary education, I have learned many things about inclusion and its importance in the company's vision. The most enjoyable part of the job is seeing students achieve their goals and follow their dreams. The hardest part of the job is finding a job placement for a student. 

The respite care helped you look into what it's like to be a child who might be suffering from mental illness and not see the mental illness bt the child who simply wanted to have fun. You were given the power to create the opprotunity for that child to have fun.
