Interior Heavy Equipment Operator School

From the top down this organization is disgustingly cheap and poorly managed. They are no where near the level similar businesses are at or the type of businesses the students will be going to. From an employee's perspective, it is demoralizing everyday. As a mechanic, it is neither set up for field techs or shop techs. Work is done in a tarp shelter with a sea-can. They added a heater last winter, finally. getting the necessary tools for what they are asking us to is impossible most times. Jobs that need to be done in heated spaces with overhead cranes are attempted here in a tent. Getting rig mats to safely put an Articulating rock truck on jack stands was a big deal.The safety practices are nearly non-existent. No SOPs for anything. Environmental precautions barely exist. In fact when they are mentioned, they are ignored.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Owners (2 top management staff) not personable or carsmatic in any shape or form. Will belittle and talk down to you in front of other staff. Very unprofessional 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Never enough for management. Disrespectful and treated like you are less than.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
When it came to assisting students day was great. However management didn't appreciate giving students excellent customer service. Always focusing on what you should be doing not what you have done or doing

Hahahahahaha the management there just covers each other’s butts and find someone low on the pole to throw under the bus!

Do you like having 5 tasks that take a minimum of 3+ ho and then get yelled at for not having it done? All while have a “Site Lead” that treats you horrible? IHE is for you! I had a horrible experience here. The management doesn’t do anything for parts or to help you out. They guilt you into not quitting or coming in while your sick. This is not a good company to work for. I promise if you read this review and get a job there you will find out!

Student advisor position, 
They will tell you it is one but IT IS NOT.  You will spend 8 hours a day on the phone trying to tell people that they need to spend money to take their course.  
And how there in house financing will help @ a 30% interest rate, that will cripple you financially.  On top of that, they offer free training online and again it is not!  They will do anything to get your money and we are told to do whatever it takes to get the prospective students through that door.

It is not a student advisory position it is a sales position (8hours a day), as they lie when they post!  Be very wary!

I worked for IHE for over a yr on the mission site and it was grossly understaffed the entire time I was there. How can 1 person give demos and instruction to 15 students on there own in a 4hr period? When you get sick they call and text you constantly and try guilt tripping you into coming into work anyway. They refuse to spend any money on repairs or maintenance so the fleet is junk and constantly breaking down. I suggest you spend your money on another school and let this one die.

IHE is a HEO school that applies hands on fundamental training on actual machines (no simulators) to students for what they will encounter in the workplace from mining to construction. All students were marked on their understanding of instructions and the completion of tasks from everything from trenching, sloping and material management to deep basement excavations, hauling, dumping and loading.

I think this is a great coarse . When I was young and learning to operate equipment it was not easy at least now people have somewhere to go to get fundamentals on how to run equipment safely good group of instructors , they are very patient with the students and teach them to operate safely . Thumbs up great job.

Excellent instructor and supervisory staff ensure that every student becomes confident on all equipment, while providing back-up knowledge regarding many construction site elements such as surveyor techniques, grade stakes, and mechanical knowledge.
I leave IHE knowing I am a fully capable operator that can exceed an employers expectations of a new operator.

This is the worst company I have worked for in my career in the heavy equipment industry. The higher ups have no idea wat there doing or why there even doin wat they are doing. Money is no good with the little hours u get. No ot. No bonuses. No one gets treated very well. Machines in Terible condition. Not mechanics fault! The money doesn’t go back into company.

This school is one of the best the instructors and head honcho are easy to work with making it an easy place to learn. They have hands on training with instructors close by if you have any questions they will take the time to show you. It is a awesome place to be as they follow all safety guidelines and follow all O.H.N.S rules.
