Every single day at work was miserable. Trying to wake up to go to work was one of the most difficult things to do, because work was discouraging.  Aside from going home, the only positive thing was meeting some of the amazing people you work with who make work slightly less soul crushing. 

My mental, physical, and emotional state deteriorated quickly. Working here was entirely a waste of time, and the environment was toxic. There aren't many decent internal opportunities, and favouritism brings upward mobility instead of merit and seniority. There's a very high turnover rate. Some people just walk out, or don't even bother to show up anymore. That speaks volumes about working for this company. Nobody wants to. 

Management is abysmal, poor, clueless, incapable, and unsupportive to say the very least. Often, your job includes chasing after management so they could contact customers. When that doesn't happen, customers will use you as a verbal punching bag to release their frustration, and you end up profusely apologizing for things out of your control. If a customer is verbally abusing you, you are expected to take it and management does not defend you. Rules are constantly bent and overstepped by management.

The culture here is terrible. They only care about money and numbers. If you can't help them line their pockets, you're insignificant. Everyone is in it for themselves and nobody cares about you. You'll survive if you suck up. Management turns a blind eye when those who suck up make countless mistakes. Unless you are a yes man and a brown noser, you won't go anywhere. There's absolutely no growth for you.

Pay is also abysmal, minimum wage is what you'll get and what they'll strive to keep you at. You perform well, and get rewarded with a ton of other responsibilities and work dropped on your lap. These extra responsibilities now become your daily responsibilities, but you won't be compensated fairly for it. You do things that are beyond your pay grade all the time. 

If you already have your own life insurance, too bad because you have to pay for it again with the company. 

I don't recommend anyone working here, even if you're desperate. Why would you want to work a depressing and directionless job? It doesn't even pay well to make all this remotely justifiable. Save yourself the brain cells and copious amounts of stress if you value your health and sanity.

A typical day at work will include a morning huddle for all the sales team members, handover specialists, business office team members and service department team members. This will allow for great communication between all departments and moreover provide our clientele with an amazing experience for the day to come. It will be followed by rewarding interactions between our valued clientele and our staff. We may also spend some time doing training and development in order to work on our personal and professional growth.

The culture at Jaguar Land Rover of Richmond is one of learning and respect. Open minded people working with a diverse clientele.

If you like being made to do all the real work by managers that have no business doing in automotive as they watch YouTube on their phones and provide you with endless empty promises with negative consequences that managers make sure they pass on to you since they have no ability to recognize their narcissistic selves.  The staff is amazing in the service department with some of the best technicians in the city but the rest of the dealership will make sure they make you feel what harassment by unchecked power that should have been fired the first day.  

Do not work there.  General Manager and owner are terrible.  Yelling profanities at employees and bullying is not the way to lead by example.  The customer relations manager talks down to everyone and makes people feel terrible about themselves, meanwhile trying to boost her own career.  They do not pay their vendors on time and quite often the vendors will not do work for them because of it.  Most of the time, you work 10 - 12 hour days with no lunch break.   They really do not care about their employees because employees are just a number and not people.  If you dropped dead there, they would just move you over to make room for someone else

Please make sure your role and compensation are extremely clear prior to accepting employment.  Jaguar and Land Rover are exciting brands to work for but the management in the dealership needs a major revamp.

I worked for 4 days, my first day on the sales floor, I sold a top of the line Jaguar and my commission was a flat....not 20% of gross.  This vehicle was the most expensive model we could find in Canada!  Anyway I asked for clarification and never received a response so ended up giving notice.  I never did receive a pay cheque.

Pay for most positions is commission-based, with a dismal base salary to motivate you to hustle. Hours for front-of-house staff are very long, sometimes with long periods of looking for things to keep you busy in slow times. It’s a great place for aspiring young professionals to get started in the automotive industry, but the challenging schedule and pressure from management to work long hours makes work-life balance virtually impossible. Fun team to work with, especially if you’re a bit quirky and enjoy investing a lot in your workplace. 

Heard rumours about this place , prior to applying but did not want to believe it but turns out they were all true , you can work as hard as you want it will not matter to anyone , you can treat the customers like family be willing to learn &  nothing comes from it , being trained here is absolute joke you will either be told to mind your business or you'll find yourself alone looking for someone to train you or for work to do , you can give your all just to be let go

The management was so one sided and promises made upon hiring were not met.

Stressful and toxic.  Everyone was unhappy daily.

Aggressive co worker. Eager to steal deal.

Probably the worst ever. Money is only thing they care. Yes. The money that was supposed to be yours is what they want to take.

Stressful. Long. Boring. High pressure.

I worked in the summer with jaguar and LandRover Calgary. Let me tell you that this dealership has the best everything. Best management, good compensation, wonderful benefits and overall the best place to work.... at least for me. They cared about there employees as long as they do there job and they do it well. If I wasn’t in school I’d still be there. Loved being a lot attendant.
