- their training (in my weld zone so far away from cafeteria) is very bad and they mislead you into thinking you are working fast-enough on a difficult line for a full month and suddenly they accost you for wasting time which is demeaning and possibly humiliating
- the money here is good (overtime after 40.00 net hours in a week)
- for 2 weeks the daily shifts were 8.0 hours (heaven) and 2 breaks were fully paid and much longer than 10 minutes but then ... they did the sudden-switcheroo (I mean a new shift-system not the biweekly rotation) on everyone and lunch break became unpaid and required shift extended to 9.5 hours which is not ok 
- the location is better than Milton except for 1 very dangerous 80 km/h limit t-intersection at Side Road 4 and Wellington Rd. 7, just a few minutes south of JEC, so in this spot drive smart and safe
- neither at interview nor orientation day did they mention in any form that my welding zone (your luck determines which zone they choose for you and you must work in) requires working nearly 10 (9.5) hours on afternoon shifts for 2 weeks and the multiple 10 minute breaks in shift are too short and seem abusive to workers - they will say that they need to run that long (shift time and production speed and very short 10 minute breaks) because the customer runs that long and fast - look out for yourself
- I am much older than 17 and I have seen other employers offer 2 paid 15 minute breaks (plus the 30 minute lunch break) for a normal 8.5 hour shift so I just don't see a good reason as to why JEC takes away at least 10-12 minutes of everyone's deserved break time each shift (their two 10-minute breaks per day are too short and not ok)
- not really safe as 1 forklift bumped into my bin when u-turning while I was already inside bin placing the finished product and was lucky not to be injured - they do take safety violations very seriously and I helped them investigate into that incident
- my team leader was mostly a grumpy person and cumbersome leadership style (he points with his nose instead of clearly communicating in spite of thick accent - pretty bad) while 2 other team leaders were more personable and calmer 
- many more pros and cons to write and ultimately you will have your own personal experience here based on your luck/timing, perspective, personality and how you conduct yourself but many others have also found JEC to be a bad or unaccommodating workplace

Jefferson is an auto parts factory which manufactures steel parts for the frame of automobiles. We build parts primarily for the Honda Civic and CRV but also build some parts for Toyota. 
This job requires 8-hour shifts on a two-week rotation of days to afternoons. There is also a straight midnight shift which is staffed entirely by individuals who have requested that shift. Day shift always starts at 6:30 am and afternoon start times depends based on whether you're in stamping or weld.
During the summer months the hours and overtime requirements are much more relaxed but between September and May expect mandatory overtime during the week as well as on Saturdays. 
The hardest part at JEC is being new. New associate training especially on the floor is very poor. Depending on who you train with often makes the difference whether you can survive or not. There is NO training system enforced so new associates generally get thrown to the wolves so-to-speak. 
The people around you is what makes this job more enjoyable. This place has a lot of good people that help to lighten up the daily grind. It also helps not to stress out too much about production demands and requirements. Really if you show up every day and put in your time and make an effort you're good.
The pay is above average and better than a lot of the companies in this area. Also from what I've heard, that atmosphere is generally much better than other places as well. There is also an emphasis on safety and it is a clean, air-conditioned work environment.
As per usual, it must be said that management is useless. Many of the managers display a complete lack of ability in their role. And yet they demand unquestioned loyalty and adherence to the rules and guidelines they make up. This leads many team leaders to become in essence 'yes' men. Thus experienced and qualified individuals often prefer not to apply for a promotion because they don't want to be in a position where they are not allowed input. This, in turn, leads to the fact that most of the supervisors are poorly qualified, useless as well because only those of low quality or inexperienced 'noobs' choose to apply for promotion.

I worked here for fifteen years. I always found the work to be easy and mindless but repetitive. I probably would have stayed longer but working rotating shifts while starting a family became too challenging. Also in the last year and a half, due to Covid, the work hours became a lot less and more difficult to make a living on.  
At peak times there was plenty of mandatory overtime particularly on the afternoon shift as well as required Saturdays.
Turnover has always been a problem at JEC among associates, team leaders, and technical staff. I spent a great deal of time training new associates only to see them leave after a few weeks. 
HR was always easy and pleasant to deal with. But working with management and bringing forward any concerns was generally a waste of time. They show little concern for the working man and offered little more than lip service when discussing an issue with associates.
Had they offered a straight shift I would have probably stayed around. Maybe even considered moving up with the company. But again, while changes to shift schedules were discussed, it's unlikely that it will ever happen. 

Generally this is a pretty good place to work. There is always lots of overtime if you want it and some Saturdays, usually in the winter and spring mostly. The money is very good for that area. Work isn't really that hard, and some days it is actually even fun. The people I worked with were almost always terrific and very helpful and willing to show you things. There is lots of team spirit there and lots of fun events, I even won a silver medal at the JEC Olympics! There were one or two really miserable people who wouldn't be happy with anything, and complained about everything and everybody no matter what it was, but I guess you find those people anywhere that you work! Mostly though, Associates were awesome and fun to be around. I only left because my boyfriend got transferred to a different city :(
There is always opportunities for advancement there, and two of the people that were hired around the same time as me are team leaders there now. HR gives everyone a fair shot at promotions, even if you have been there for less time than others. Team Leaders were happy to help and teach you things if you were interested and willing to learn. Managers were always helping out at lunch and would run some lines to help everyone out which was nice.

Working is average you're expected to be putting parts in a bin for half your shift and the other half doing quality control.

Most enjoyable part of the job that either makes or breaks if your staying is the company of your crew you work with.

The turnover rate for the company is massive as I've seen well over 75+ associates quit during my time working on my shift alone.

My main issue with the company is the fact no one actually cares enough to do their job properly/lack the proper training to know the necessary information for the role

The training provided is abysmal due to the turnover being so high. Good example is the fact year after year I've seen about ~5 people quit in a crew of 7 before the start of next year.

Needs much better management and actual training for associates to learn how to be safe and do their jobs properly and not just "figure it out yourself but get blamed if you mess it up" type attitude the company has.

P.S; Since you start at the bottom be prepared to get blamed for essentially everything that goes wrong even if its another persons responsibility to be checking quality.

A typical day at work is pretty fast paced as it is an automotive production facility, what you learn will vary depending on the position you are hired for as there are various different production and material handling positions available (stamping, welding, quality control, material handling, shipping etc.). Personally I worked in material handling and had great supervisors and co-workers, the supervisors there are not only genuinely nice people but also very hands on problem solvers who will get things done and assist you with whatever you need to keep you rolling. The hard part of the job (this is specific to material handling, I did not work in other departments) is making sure to balance your time well and plan ahead. You have to keep lines running so making sure that you are up on your counts and compensating by grabbing a few more than are missing on fast moving inventory to keep up with production is key as they are still moving and going through inventory while you are reloading. There are many enjoyable things about the job as well, generally good co-workers, steady pace helps the shift go by faster, good compensation and employee perks/benefits and if you're looking for a good workout you'll get one here.

*THIS REVIEW TALKS PRIMARILY ABOUT THE TYPE OF WORK YOU WILL DO

Depending on your department you may be stuck on the "Table" which means you pick up metal parts and put them in a bin... thousands of parts. A lot of times Team Leads will keep new hires on the table ALL DAY and this is where people find a reason to quit. If you get put into stamping, ask, ask, ask "Can I get trained in quality?" "Can I get trained to operate?" "Can I get trained on the forklift?". Persistence is key and coordinators will ensure your demands are met - DON'T let them take advantage of you. 

In the weld department your job is very boring and consists of putting parts from stamping into jigs which are then welded by robots. The process can be interesting but the novelty wears off after the second quarter. Weld unlike stamping doesn't offer much in the way of 'real-life skills' and ironically this is where most of the senior associates work.

To conclude, Jefferson is a place where you make money not a place to start a career (unless you have an education relating to Robotic/Maintenance Technician or HR). This doesn't mean it is the worst place in the world to work, just be aware of team leads and management taking advantage of you.

What JEC do- Honda & Toyota cars body framing parts supplier

Shifts- There are two rotating shifts and straight night shift

Job- Everyone start in the weld zone, nothing to weld manually, all workers need to do is, load to the parts to the jig and checking the finished product for identifying defects.

Breaks- Two 10 mint and One 30 mint break.Break is in every two hours.

Safety - everyone needs to wear PPE provided by JEC.

Advancement- There are internal job posting in almost every 2 month. Otherwise no advancement

Salary/Wage- 1st increase in 9 months and then every 6 months.

Overtime- Lots of overtime after and before shift as well as saturdays. Sometimes there are mandatory saturdays.

Training - This is the process a new person should earn by his/her own. Have to ask a lot of question to know things.

Benefits- One time per year reimbursement for safety boot. Christmas bonus. Medical benefit after 6 months. Lump sum benefit.

Management - well organized

Team Leaders - most of them are friendly but there are always some negative personnel.

Cafeteria- Insight cafeteria provides good food in cheap price.

Employees are assigned to designated 'zones' with up to 12 employees in each.
Most lines are run with 1-2 people, meaning you work alone and are responsible for your own area.
It is a very hot work environment and important to stay hydrated! Little to no fans/ventilation.
Don't think that conflicts and or line issues are handled as well as they should be by management. They don't often come to employees, who know the line and best way to run it, for tips or info on how things are running/ how it could be improved.
HR is very small and avoids employees as much as possible. Everything is communicated electronically now, through tv's and email...if you get emails.
On the plus side, there are employee appreciation activities and meals periodically.
Temps are not treated great, and contracts are literally dangled on  string for well over the time they should be before being hired on full time with benefits.
Health and safety co-ordinator is horrendous! Does not care about the people at all and is rarely available to find if you need to discuss or follow up on anything.

Pay is competitive and what keeps most of us there.

A typical day at work, is swiping in on time. Going to your zone to see your team members and team leader to be told what is happening for the night. Your team leader will place your name on the dedicated line for the four quarters of the night, and you will go there with a team member, or by yourself (depending on the line). First quarter you do startups, making sure the line will shut down when needed, replacing robot tips, writing down weld numbers. Stock up your work line, and then make parts. The next three quarters consist of making parts, or supporting your work team with their lines.
If you need to talk to management, its easier when you are on day shift as compared to nights, or afternoons (but since you rotate between days and afternoons, you are able to see them every two weeks, regardless).
The hardest part of the job is when you are put on a line with someone that can not keep to the same pace as yourself, and you still have to try to hit rate.
The most enjoyable part of the job is being able to learn anything if you apply yourself.
