You would hope that when working for a family run business there would be a feeling of unity and we’re in this together feeling but that definitely not the case. You work for them, you are not important, you are replaceable. The management here is miserable and make working there very hard.
Working at Josef Gas is mentally exhausting, what you do is never appreciated, you will never have a compliment come your way, but if you do something wrong you will definitely hear about it, and if you’re unhappy about something they tell you to go home. H/R is the owners wife.
Advice to Management
Treat your employees like you appreciate them. Bad managers make good workers bad workers. The company has money but they don’t pay to enough compared to the cost of the living. They don’t care if you can’t make ends meet, not their problem. 

What is the best part of working at the company?
I've been with this company for a few years now and enjoy working here. The company supplies welding equipment, propane and industrial gases. The environment is fast-paced and challenging and always keeps you on your toes.
The best part of the job for me is the customer interaction and the other team members on the order desk. The staff are great and it makes a busy day much more enjoyable.
Like any company, it has its challenges, but management is supportive if you come in ready to work. There is job stability as long as you have a good work ethic.
If you're someone who likes a hands-on, busy environment with good people around you, this is a great place to work.


What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Like any busy operation, some days can be more demanding than others and things can get hectic during peak times, staying organized is important.

This family run business is a great place to work.  They are very caring and diligent with their training and safety standards.  They treat their employees with respect!  They offer benefits and a fair salary.
Because it's a smaller company, there's a lot of room for growth.  The owners are extremely knowledgeable and hands-on.  The staff have all worked for the family for a long time.  You can see that everyone genuinely likes eachother and gets along.    
I feel lucky to have found a job for such a good place to work!

Pros
Clean facility and great customers. Some of the employees are really great people to work with.
Cons
The owner is very disrespectful to the employees and likes to yell; He lacks the qualities a good leader should entail. Don't think because it's a smaller company that the management cares about you, you are better off at a Fortune 500. I was not given the compensation that was promised in the interview, along with a few other empty promises. Bare bones benefits. If you are not in the existing management circle (that has worked for the owners family for 15ish years) already, it is very difficult to advance.

Management sucks! 
Too many managers not doing work. Meetings everyday for 15 managers when drivers come back, they can never talk to anyone because they are ALWAYS in a meeting. 
Driver meetings are bogus! They don't teach you nothing and tons of doughnuts full of sugar are offered. (No coffee). Management loves to yell and scream. Likes to be little their employees. Route are all over the map and totally unorganized. Trucks constantly breaking down. Customers complaining about the company time and time again. Just a horrible place to work. No advancement. 

You will be expected to do dozens of jobs outside of your job description with no pay increase or recognition from management or owners. Management is always in a miserable mood from the moment you walk through the doors in the morning. Bosses are constantly screaming at everyone. Very toxic work environment. Avoid this company at all costs if looking for an office job.

Driving for this company is great.  As long as you have a valid DZ and don't break the rules of the Highway Traffic Act you can expect good and consistent hours.
They promote from within the company so a lot of people started off on the yard and moved up to Supervising.
They train you A LOT so you feel like you're part of a team.
They are fair, provide benefits, good hours and pay.

Very dangerous place to work at. Depleted fleet, trucks are always breaking down, constantly overloaded and over weight but management will insist you “go around the scales.” Abusive/disrespectful management. Unrealistic delivery expectations. No raises. Limited benefits. Long hours of hard work and heavy lifting. Pay doesn’t reflect the work you do.

Improper recruiting processes. 
Lack of managerial skills to hire new staff. Management expects you to start work when you have not even signed an employment letter.

Great work environment.  Friendly.  Make you feel welcome. It is fast paced so days go by quick.  
Management does little extras for staff.  Very much enjoyed working at Josef Gas.
