Zero communication, everything that is said to staff is all here say and dreams of the upper powers at be. The superiors are like imagineers (aka engineers). If it looks good on paper they think the idea will work no matter what even if it is unrealistic. The pay is extremely low compared to industry standards. The company can never seem to get one job done. Bounce around from thing to thing. Only care about short term fixes to keep money coming in. Nothing long term that would actually help the company out. Let alone help staff out. Throwing a Christmas Party doesn't make sense when equipment is broken and ppl could use raises since the cost of living is going up and up. Also a superior told me that they haven't got a raise in over a year when they drive a fancy vehicle (and pretty sure they make 6 figures a year)complains about that when I am living paycheque to paycheque. 

Do not always provide enough specifics to get your work done, if you then ask a question, you get feedback that you ask too many questions.

State that they care about each person's unique learning style when in reality they have little patience for it. 

Will tell you that they've told you something repeatedly and when you try to explain to them that these are standalone incidents in which each one was missed due to a unique reason, they are unwilling to hear your perspective. 

Lack self awareness regarding their own errors and forgetfulness.

Was made to feel like a pest.

You could be juggling 5000 balls and drop one, and the one you drop is all they care about, the 4999 you have done well on goes unnoticed.

Was not informed that the role would include travel until I started working in the position.

Unprofessional in tone and language.

I started as a project manager for the Environmental consulting department. At first I thought there would be room for career growth and advancement but I soon realized it was a dead end. 
The company has an incredible employee turnover rate. There is no incentive to go above and beyond as contributions go unnoticed. 
There were copious issues with payroll, taxes, and anything related to finances. 

The internet in whitehorse is deplorable

Issues go unresolved for extended periods of time. 

The one positive thing about the company were some of the people - there are some genuinely decent people who i met and consider friends. 



The  managers in the Richmond office are toxic have huge egos and look down on everyone else. If you're not in the manager's friends group there will be no respect and you will be bullied. Theres no chance for getting ahead because the jobs are set up as entry level for people to get Canada residence permits. Pms will take credit for work done by others and will throw you under the bus to hide there errors. This place is a bad environment for mental health and career growth and there is no  training. You have to learn by yourself and if you make a mistake you will be publically called out  and left to fend for yourself. The hardest part of this job is getting through the day knowing it wont be better. 


Lots of work to keep a guy busy year round. If you want to be home every night this isn’t the place for you. You work hard and you will be compensated fairly. Nice trucks they maintain well, trailers are a little rough around the edges, but it’s the name of the game. I always recommend this place to other drivers. You won’t find a better place to do super b dump trucking that has enough work to keep you busy year round. Dispatch is easy to deal with, management up front is done very well. 

When i 1st started working  at KBL Environmental it was great.  My co-workers were great and we all got along. After a few months things started to change.  I noticed that i was getting blamed for things i didn't do. When ever i complained about some thing to my manager nothing changed. The management and most of my co-workers were friends so no matter who i complained to nothing changed. My manager was always looking down on me and expecting me to attain unreasonable expectations. I literally dreaded going to work in the morning.

The crew I was on was fantastic the hours were great and getting a company truck was a added bonus

Wasn’t any stress just the normal 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
If your not related to someone or from the Interlake area of Manitoba good luck going anywhere in the company and getting raises

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Morning meeting then start your day

If you work for this company, make sure you are not going through any personal issues. 
They will tell you that they are there for you for anything you need, but in the end having personal issues doesn't fit their image and will fire you.

Overall, I really enjoyed my job there, even though processes changed quite regularly with little to no communication until a mistake is made and then they make you feel like it was your fault even though you were never informed of the change

None of the machines ever seem to be working and there was a lot of time spent waiting for things to be repaired so we could get back to work. When there was work, there always seemed to be pressure from above to produce more material which caused things to break again which meant more stand-stills. The people are amazing to work with but the operation itself wasn't working very well. Lots of room to learn if you have the patience to sit and then work like crazy.

The way coworkers got along! No problem teaching people proper skills

Shift work, cold wet weather, break downs

Good people to work with, excellent supervisor,

Sometimes we were busy, but other times long days on break downs
