The only thing going for this business is the safety training and tickets if they give you them. Managers are to busy playing the popular game and playing favourites or being condescending. Some coworkers were good working with and willing to help and teach while others created toxic environments, harassment, bullying and property damage which the Managers don'tdo anything about.  Even if you are willing to learn and do road work favourites will always be picked first and you get put on the back burner, sent as a last resort and learn minimal to nothing. 
Doesn't matter what your profession is they will put you anywhere, this place is a huge let down as a general and a joke to other companies in the same field.
The turn over in this company is wild and they don't care about you unless you want to be in their pockets or on your knees.


Being part of the RACE (Robotics, Automation, Controls and Engineering) team, we get to be involved with machine/system concepts with customers, design, programming, start-up, commissioning and support.  We provide turn-key solutions in many different industries.  Most projects are new business and new creations, not a stale boring situation.
We have a great group of skilled trades that we work with and are essential to complete our builds.  They also provide lots of feedback on our designs and have input to making our creations better.
Lots of perks, using the shop for personal projects, borrow a vehicle, BBQ lunches, training.  Our owners reinvest in the company and maintain a very safe work environment.  We now have 3 locations in Ontario!

The work is usually pretty good when theres actual work. No layoffs def a plus. When its slow you can take time off no questions asked. Scheduling sucks. Never actually know whats going on. You get your schedule late Thursday for following week then it all changes Fri or Monday and ppl forget to tell you. Thd coworkers are pretty good bunch of guys. Some managers are good. The superintendent has his face shoved up the owners butt. Hes is in it for himself no matter how much he tries to sweet talk the guys. Just because your a millwright apprentice doesn't mean thats wat you will be doing. You could be in the paintbooth or stores for months on end. Many great ppl have left for this reason. 

Overall it is a good place to work, some overtime and some traveling. You work on a variety of projects and never do the same thing. Not recommended for someone who wants to be home every night but dont except to only be home on weekends or to be away weeks on end. Management is frustrating sometimes, but if you can deal with them and follow all the paperwork/procedures they require you to follow you should be good. Most employees(if not all) are not happy with management for one reason or another. There is a high turnover rate of employees, but most skilled tradesmen who were let go were for legitimate reasons and they were given and told many times to fix problems, but once management noticed issues they kept a close eye on them.

Was once a very great place to work.  Great managers that cared about your well being and development.  A few years back a new VP was brought in that tried to change the entire operation of the company in direction and management style.  This included ostracizing the existing managers and supervisors that challenged anything (some of which that challenged the VP were eventually fired.).  In turn there has been revolving door of inexperienced project managers and supervisors being hired and fired.  Their arrogant inexperience and inability to properly manage their employees has created a negative work environment.  All of this has trickled down to the front line employees, with only a few left that have been waiting out the storm.

Every day is a new experience. Always learning.  Safety training and culture is next level. People are great and always helping each other out. Lots of training and development opportunities. Scheduling is clearly communicated as well as work plans. Management listens to team and makes continuous improvements based on recommendations. Travel and road work is the only thing I have difficulty with but the pay is great.

Kilmarnock is a great company to further your education. I personally found the company very willing to provide training. Re: welding tickets, pursuing a journeyman certification for millwright, welding and machinist. 

The company has a fairly large management team so there are politics but thats pretty much anywhere you go.

Good work, most coworkers are pretty easy to get along with as long as you pull your weight.

Management is management like most places. There are good managers and bad managers. 

Kilmarnock Enterprise is excellent place to work. From estimation and quoting, contract award, planning, scheduling to execution is performed collaboratively. Staff here is very helpful, welcoming and  friendly. More focus is on supervision, hard skills and site day to day conflicts and issues management. Site staff is excellent in hard skills and required to be trained on soft skills and emotional intelligence.  Kilmarnock is required  to improve a lot in project management practices, soft skills and leadership.

There are some very great people who work there. That being said there is a High turn over rate. Employees seem to be an  expendable commodity all they care about is there red seal ticket. Within a six Months over 30 people left the company from being walked out or quit . If looking to join this company expect to have Get Empty Promises

All of the good upper management quit aka the people that actually cared about the business. The rest went down hill from there layoffs, terminations, damage to company vehicles, theft of company and personal belongings, employee’s sleeping around with a boss and them showing up at the work place to settle a dispute. You do not want to work here.
