Technicians sit at home most of the week and only get scheduled for 2 or 3 days many weeks with no certainty of when we will actually get a full week of hours.

Management and office staff is a revolving door with no support for the technicians as there are no technically knowledgeable people in the office. They laid off the service manager during covid who was with the company over 20 years and the technicians main support in the office and then never hired him back but instead brought in someone with no experience and kept him there for 2 years despite him screwing everything up all the time.

Wages are stagnant. Service trucks are all aging and unreliable. They wait until your truck dies before ordering a new one and then you will sit at home with no work because you don't have a working truck.

There is no morale among the employees. It wasn't always like this though. It used to be a fun place to work. Now all they care about is cutting costs even when it comes at the expense of the people who make their money for them.

As a Planner Scheduler for Konecranes, at Shell Albian Sands, I was given the opportunity to work with a diverse group of people. I worked closely with the OMC, Scheduling, Planning and Major Maintenance group with Shell Canada. Providing Konecranes, front line support as a partner with Shell Albian Sands.
With my multiple contacts and standing relationship with the Major Maintenance group, I was able to ensure that all aspects of the compliance code, were met and exceeded my expectations.
I was given an opportunity to expand my knowledge in the SAP world, creating notifications and monitoring the WO processes. As well as expanding my knowledge of the parts pertaining to the inspections for the over 170 cranes on site.
Working with three demanding software programs, provided a busy, productive and constant learning curve to my everyday.
Highly recommend Konecranes Canada, to anyone that is eager to be challenged.

Horrible place to work. Training consisted of driving around and looking at businesses and not actually going inside or talking to them. No wonder my sales performance wasn't up to their expectations. Your only as good as the people teaching!!!! Sales meeting were boring and if anything killed my good vibes to sell. Management super boring, its no wonder they are always hiring new sales people. They need a new / modern approach. Maybe take some lessons from high performing sales in a different setting (car sales) they sell tonnes of vehicles because they are so upbeat. Lets not forget about the way management treats you (like a child). They micromanage everything and all of their sales meeting are a huge waste of time. They need to go back to school to learn the difference between needing a meeting or writing an email. Whatever you do, avoid this place like the plague.

The management is terrible from the ground up. Branch manager has done more to loose customers & technicians by avoiding them, with a general lack of concern for planning or securing work. Branch has seen 100% turnover several times throughout a 6 year span. Regional management turns a blind eye to the inept & troublesome behaviour at the branch level. Safety in Canadian region is more concerned with US driving & vehicle GPS directives, than employees safety. No management ventures out to the field to perform their due diligence safety observations. No vacation (paid out on every cheque construction style), banked time, no advanced planning or notice of lack of work, in short, life on hold. Sending technicians out with improper training or qualifications. In short management would rather fire a technician rather than deal with their concerns or issues.

What was suppose to be a very good job ended up being a disaster, due to management. There is no accountability in this company. I terminated, with out cause, while rehabbing a sprained ankle and was paid extra severance to not take the company to court. This all happened after I complete a positive year end review, given a raise, and sent for 2 weeks of training in Burlinton, ON. Be carefull if you do go to work for Kone but if you a trades person I would suggest looking else where, especially in Alberta.

Today I am actually thankful for them terminating me because my wage increased 33% and I work in a much heathier environment then what was considered NORMAL at Kone.

Lots of foreign workers, almost rarely every hire Canadian Employees(technicians). Discrimination towards Canadian's is astounding. they would rather spent thousandths of dollars to bring someone into this country then train someone else up that would be much cheaper and less of a hassle for the language barrier. Although the people who do come in are great workers and great people its sad to see a large company like this take complete advantage of these people and pay them so low. company has an incredibly large turn over of employees, seen lots of office staff come and go and technicians as well.

Staff turnover is more than 40% in Canada... Upper management is completely disconnected with the reality at the base. 
They created a monster of a CRM that would require a full day a week to keep updated. Nonesense! 
You need to be able to help customers with their issues, sell service and products, not complete over complexed CRM and other system.
Bottom line, if you can have a better career opportunity, save your self some headaches!

in my entire time at this company I never missed work for anything, then finally one day I had to call in sick, well the foreman claimed I didn't call in so they fired me even though I had the call record and he was lying! I had to take the whole situation to employment standards and get it sorted out that way, in the end they had to pay till I found a new job but they will skid you for anything especially with the amount of people out of work now, zero job security and a forman that doesn't mind lying... i do not recommend working at this place.

Processes and software applications are meant to make work more streamlined, but the opposite is the case here as it makes work more cumbersome. Deploying different applications to do what one single application can do. And having senior management that throws blocks your way instead of assisting to remove them. It’s a swinging door company for most people. 

Typical day at work included invoicing customers, responding to telephone inquiries, working with service managers and administrators to help them solve their problems. Co-workers were very hard working dedicated individuals. The best part of this job was being successful in implementing a proven system and then watching it work. I am still in touch with my favourite manager there that said "get what you inspect, not what you expect". That phrase has stayed with me to this day.
