I've been employed by the Kot Auto group for close to 3 years now, but 4 total at Kelowna Kia. 

After KAG acquired Kelowna Kia, we were all a little nervous how the new management would be, but I stuck it out and couldn't be happier. 

A typical day for me is connecting with clients who are in the market for a new vehicle, prospecting for potential customers and building long-lasting relationships with a personal touch. 

Many days work does not feel like work, as I get along with everyone here, and we'll go out for dinner or drinks often, the culture is unmatched. 

The hardest part is just the overall time required, but compared to other well-paid professionals, it's very reasonable, you're compensated well. 

Management here has fostered a winning culture and a great environment to work in that makes the work-day feel much shorter than it is. I'd highly recommend finding a position within the company. 

As a long time employee for the Kot Auto Group, I can confidently say that making the decision to join the team was one of the best decisions I've made.

I had no previous experience but was still offered the position which was an extremely large amount more than I was being paid that the time. 

I was trained extensively, actually 4 days a week we have had group training sessions to polish skills. The caliber of training was at the highest level. I feel like I'm the best at what I do now, thanks to the management.

The hardest part of the job can be the ups and downs of selling cars but it's something that can be managed. As long as you're able to keep your emotions in check, it can be extremely rewarding.

The most enjoyable part of the job is the smile on the customer's face after you've completed the sale. Although, this is closely tied to the comradery with fellow sales people who are all constantly being competitive with each other. Lots of fun and laughs here.

Victoria Hyundai had change ownership 2 years ago this coming June, the dealership had a very bad reputation prior, and the new ownership was expected to change that.

What changed was a drastic reduction in support staff. The reduction started during the early stages of COVID, but continued well past business returned to normal levels. The remaining staff is expected to perform the rolls 2 or 3 other employees should be doing.

The management is made up of the owners family, so take that into consideration.

The most difficult part of the job is the culture, the poor reputation from the previous ownership has stayed and has gotten worse. You are run into the ground and expected to do more. You will be expected to work 6 days a weeks at 10-12 hour days because there is a shortage of staff.

Honestly there are some great people there, and it seams the good ones get taken advantage of.

This place is a joke,
No communication
No leadership
You cannot imagine how much money they're hemorrhaging down the drain
Nobody is willing to step up and make improvements to the overall structure of the business both internally, as well as with clientele.

Sales are focused on one thing only, given the exception of a few fellas there (easy to tell apart) it's just a few hours until your on your own with anything you need after the sale.

The service department has been hands down the least positive, poorly managed and most destined to fail environment resulting in an unrepairable state that I'm sure this side of North America has ever seen

Stay away if you value your time and energy and think that you deserve the chance to grow in a company with hard work and commitment.

The people who work here make this company an incredible environment. I currently work for a kot owned dealership and ever since the buy out things have been headed down hill here this place when from a place that was pushing me to do better and making me want to succeed to nothing but empty promises and a drive to want to leave they say they respect and give great incentive to employees that work hard and make good hours in the shop but they only do that to lower paid employees or management employees that give bad/poor work to higher paid techs to make them look bad and produce less to the point where the ither quit or get fired so that the can hire new employees at a lower rate this company is run by people who only think of there employees as a number and that's all

If you been in the industry for a long time you will know all dealerships have some level of problems, this place goes to a new level unseen in this industry. Entertaining to watch one service manager pushing out hard working employees and slowly destroy the service department while upper management is blissfully unaware. 

Disorganized, days are long, work life balance doesn't exist and there always asking you too come in on your days of. Lots of the staff there is very unhappy and makes for a toxic work environment. 

Its good for some entertainment and things you will see is unlike anything you will see else where. Not so fun when your part of it though, look else where especially with all dealers hiring.

The typical day involves cleaning cars and the lot. That is really it.

I have learned how to get every last fluff out of a car and conceal almost any surface scratch, chip, or ding on the car. I even learned some simple mechanic work from some of the Techs.

Management was thorough and organised mostly, however, there were a few hiccups.

The culture was great. There were some people that were hard to work with, but that is normal.

The hardest part of the job was dealing with a situation when everything just goes wrong due to miss communication in the Management of each dept.

The most enjoyable part though was working with a great crew, especially in a slow season.

Kot Auto Group is a terrible company to work for. The management is incompetent, and the work environment is toxic. The company is disorganized, and employees are not given clear instructions, which leads to confusion and mistakes. The workload is overwhelming, and the company expects its employees to work long hours without proper compensation. The management is unsupportive and does not value its employees' well-being. The company culture is cut-throat, and employees are pitted against each other, creating a hostile work environment. Furthermore, the company has a high turnover rate, which speaks to its poor treatment of its employees. In summary, I would not recommend working for Kot Auto Group.

Really, the management in dealership is laughable. They are so low to the point that, they have to give 5 star rating on indeed to inflate their overall rating to a mere 3.5, because there is  too much 1 start review, that's how bad the management is. Like others have said turnover is really high, you don't really work with the people you started with in a couple of months. Because of the turnover rate, past employees leave mess and new people not being familiar with things just creates more problems, angry customers, and longer hours, and management is only interested in reactive to issues, rather than being proactive.
