A few words to start ....
Horrible, backhanded, deplorable. If you value your self worth, love working for a solid company then don't choose this place. The turnover rate is brutal and so are the office and support staff. 

The company tells you that you will walk before running, and that you will gradually ease your way into this highly technical job by shadowing others. This is so far from the case. When you struggle and need support nobody is there. You spend more time waiting on calls from technical support than actually feeling successful.

Managers don't listen to the little people on the front lines. They basically chalk everything up to incompetent workers and not their leadership. They don't follow Labor standards or follow their obligation to signed contracts. They tell you all kinds of lies to pump you up then they drop the hammer and blame you, the worker. 

The Airport screening personnel that you will be fixing things for have very little faith in this company as they don't set the employees for success. In my experiences all I heard were complaints and negativity which then falls down on the Technicians. If you love working for a company that loves lying to the employees then this is your company. There are so many things wrong with this place it's unreal. They also love to fire people without cause and without following contractual obligations. Apply elsewhere......I am.

I really enjoy working at KPrime.  I've been here almost 3 years and have a wonderful working relationship with my manager, who does not micro-manage, but is available to support when needed and is transparent and open with me.  I feel valued and appreciated - not only by my manager, but also by the management team and my co-workers.  

I have had the opportunity to take on new tasks and grow within the company, and have received wage increases as a result.  

The work is challenging and interesting and somewhat fast-paced, which I like.  

KPrime really encourages work/life balance and offers fair paid time off and a great benefits program.  

I have seen how hard our Management team works first hand - they inspire me with their work ethic and morals.  They truly lead the company with a focus on what will be best for everyone as well as what will lead to greater success.  

My co-workers are smart, hard-working and very respectful of each other.  It is such a nice and supportive working environment.  

KPrime is undergoing rapid growth with an exiting new contract.  We are all working hard toward this.  New and improved processes and programs have been put into place to facilitate efficient operations.  



Pay was decent, but that's the only good thing I have to say.

Technicians aren't screened well, and often don't possess the skills to support the work, leaving the burden of troubleshooting to the competent employees while they handle menial tasks and easy repairs.

Little to no support from management/ownership. Not so much as a "Happy Holidays" card or offer to buy the team dinner around Christmas time. Get back to work.

No raises. 

Incredible administrative burden that is shouldered by teams that are understaffed and overworked. Often takes longer to fill out the asinine return to service forms than do the actual work.

No job shadowing or very little, so when you run into a complicated issue, be prepared to play phone tag with manufacturers and wait for hours on end for support.

Expected to be on call 2 out of every 4-5 weekends - don't expect any kind of work-life balance.

I joined KPrime Technology with high hopes, but my experience has raised serious concerns. Many employees, including myself, were coerced into signing contracts with undisclosed multiple-year commitments. Overtime pay discrepancies have been a recurring issue, leaving workers unrewarded for their extra efforts.

Furthermore, the company has a concerning habit of wrongly accusing employees of misconduct. Questionable promotions of underperforming staff have created an unhealthy work environment. Additionally, there is a noticeable lack of proper information handling, with management often blaming employees for issues rooted in their own lapses. Everywhere you look KPrime is setting you up for failure.

Prospective employees should approach KPrime Technology with caution, considering the mentioned concerns and potential impacts on job satisfaction and fairness.

I have been hearing bad comments about this company. One of them is about of the advancement of your career. You don't know how you will get to the next level of being a technician.

Salary wise, it is not clear if you will get something after getting certified for each and every equipment you will be working on.

The manager does not even ask how your training went. Like, WHO CARES!? 

Some emails are being left unanswered.

Overtime? They don't want to pay overtime as much as possible. That's what I heard from the current technicians.

But I will see along the way and give you more feedback about this company.

I believe, the government should look into this.

DISCLAIMER!
This is not the make the company look bad publicly. This is based on my observations and stories that I heard of from other technicians in the company.

-Empty promises of employment reviews
-Zero appreciation show for hard work
-Rumors of management harbouring per diem pay and unfair weekend on call rates. 

No company get togethers, Christmas party's or incentive to go above and beyond. 

Job itself is fulfilling, the company is not. Many techs are talking about leaving and actively looking for other jobs as we speak because of poor treatment. 
It's obvious the company is way over their heads with this new contract and are cutting costs everywhere possible to stay afloat. That or their cheap cheap cheap. 
Either way the company is in real trouble of its techs either leaving or starting a union. Either way, it's not great and big quality of life changes are needed for the long term. 


Wonderful workplace with great technicians and management. During my time with KPrime Technologies as a Airport Security Service Technician in Calgary I got to learn a lot of sophisticated equipment and got trained on multiple platforms. Other fellow technicians are very easy going and help each other out whenever needed, it was a pleasure working along side a proactive team that supports each other.
Management is accessible, and provides routine meetings to discuss ideas and bring up any concerns which are addressed.
If you're on the fence about applying for this company, I would recommend applying and discussing the details during an interview, I think most would find it a great opportunity.

The work itself is easy but the pay is not good at all. They say they care about the techs work life balance but they don’t. Management isn’t good as well. It’s a good place to start your career and leave right after. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this company. I strongly advise doing thorough research before considering any opportunities here.  The review in Edmonton may paint a positive picture, but my experience was different. I recommend looking beyond the ratings and reading multiple perspectives before making a decision.

K Prime will provide all the manufacturer required equipment certification training for you, all you need is to pass the clearance, a technical background and a good work ethic. 
Since we routinely work on the same equipment, most of the tasks are repetitive but there are some problem-solving calls that will require you to think. 
We work in most every Canadian city that has an airport. With such a new government contract, there is lots of room for career movement vertical or horizontal. 

 Job security is good (great training programs) and it is a true team environment with coworkers. The work culture is great, there are always people available when ever you need any help.  The company is going through growth but overall I'm happy with the workplace and scope of work.  No issues.  Highly recommend.
