My overall experience working at Langley Concrete has been a positive one. The company events such as the golf tournament, fireworks boat cruise, family fun day, and the BBQ’s are some highlights. There are challenges for sure when it comes to communication and organization  which is understandable considering the rapid growth this company has been experiencing. Everyone I’ve come across so far has been kind and helpful. They also promote internally so there is opportunity to move up and earn more. The negatives about Langley Concrete are similar to what I’ve experienced and heard about other  workplaces  but overall I feel there is much more good then bad here. 

You will be asked to work much harder than what you are being paid for and constantly chastised by ownership for not making enough product. All the equipment is broken with no plans to fix it, you spent so much time repairing equipment that it’s impossible to keep up with the numbers they demand. You must perform most of your own repairs. But employees are still expected to maintain production quality and quantity anyways. Loads of favouritism and nepotism. 

***NOTE: If you call in more than 3 days in the whole YEAR you get put on probation, doesn’t matter how sick you were.

My experience at the Langley Concrete Group has overall been very positive. I really enjoy the annual golf tournament, staff BBQ's, and the fireworks boat cruise! My coworkers are very insightful and make consistent efforts towards finding solutions to important issues. The company really encourages education and will pay for courses that are relevant to your position! 

I’ve worked there for six months within my first two weeks they pushed me to apply for the worst job in the plant. After not being happy in that position for five months I asked to be moved due to mental health issues and the management said only way I can get out of that position is to do what they did to me and get a new employee to apply for the dead end job no one liked.

It will be 2 years in January for me and despite being hired during covid I could see right away that it was a great place for me to work, it has been great! I was able to finish my education and they even payed for the tuition on the last class I took. I'm a single mom so the benefits are fantastic too. Management really appreciate hard workers and have tons of employee appreciation events, it's not perfect for sure but it has been a great experience for me. 

Family run company by  Brothers.  This company was started by their father and the brothers inherited it;  you’ve got a mix of management that want to be there ;  have to be there;   The 3 that have to be there... don’t really want to be there.... so it makes it very hard to get anything done.  The fight and pull everyone into their drama. 

Langley Concrete has been an answer to prayer for me. I am semi retired and was given the opportunity as gate keeper here at the Chilliwack yard. It’s a perfect fit for me and the Company has been very generous to all employees! 
Overall a great workplace.

Overall not a bad place to work. Family run business. Some management issues (egos) but good team environment among the mid level staff. Lots of room for advancement. Good pay good benefits. Can be long hours in the summer and weather in the winter can affect hours.

Quality people, quality products we make.  Different products that are  made are the infrastructure underneath our communities.  The family that runs this company are generous and fair.

Poorly managed, but pays well and has benefits. Most long term workers seem to hate their job but only stick it out for the money. Many unhappy employees. Favoritism dictates promotions. High drama and stressful environment. High turnover rate for a reason.
