The interview was good, met a friendly HR person, professional soft spoken supervisor and one of the plant workers. Got my interview quick and my orientation on the first day was a couple hours class room training. I liked it, had an idea of the rules before starting, however tough to remember everything.
They were friendly and professional from the start.
I started in the plant packing Bacon and it was easy steady pace, many coworkers focus on the job , very serious and committed to making sure everything was right.
People were very friendly but like any new job , always tough to make a friend and talk, i made a good friend my first day.
Got to know the manager the first day and any time i asked my supervisor or manager a question- i got a clear answer right away.
I learned my job quickly it was really easy but steady pace.
They are serious about making sure everything is good and some people might find that stressful , however stick with it, it gets very easy in the first week . There really isnt much of a challenge to the jobs.
The one thing I am hopeful for is the number of people promoted to better jobs from within, this is a big company with lots of workers and part of a much larger company. I feel there are good chances for everyone to get a better job , move up and make more money. 
I feel respected at work and people are very safety conscious . 
Its way better than my last two jobs, im going to stick it out. I enjoy the company activities and friendliness. 
I met the VP here, everyone likes him hes always nice to people. 
He thanked me for joining the company and welcomed me on my second day, he looks pretty busy but people say you can talk to him and he listens. Ive heard if you talk to them , your manager or supervisor will make sure  your problems are looked into . People are saying things have changed alot this year for the better, they are all looking forward for things to come in the next year. I am very glad i joined.  Really like it here.

When I first started with Leadbetters the environment looks chaotic and busy. Once your in the rhythm and learn the process flows its an absolute amazing place to work. The management from Supervisors to the President are amazing to work for. They are very accommodating with regards to time off in case of emergencies and personal days.
I love working here as there is always areas to improve and consistently trying to better ourselves, as a team, and as a Company. 
I would absolutely recommend Leadbetters as an Employer. In the past under old leadership before it sold I would never recommend here was constant put downs and yelling/screaming. Now that its under new management it has improved a ton. Ever since they've hired their new operations manager things have been getting better and better each and every week.  He is very approachable, understanding and supportive of all Leadbetter employees. His leadership ability is like I have never seen before. Its a warm addition to the team.

The company continually strives to improve processes and better themselves daily. They always include line workers in asking for opinions or advice because they know they live it daily. Couldnt ask for a better person to work for. 

I would recommend Leadbetters to all family, friends and anyone looking for a fun, fast paced environment.

Hours are good in the summer and dwindle in the winter.
Cold conditions make it a challenging job for lots of people, considering they provide minimal hand protection from the cold. 

Prepare to lose feeling to your hands for majority of your shifts.
As a food packager you will be working in one space handling frozen product constantly
As a meat cutter you will be expected to do more and more backbreaking lifting. They have a tendency to hire older gentleman who cant be expected to do it, every young man who takes on the lifting jobs end up with tendon problems in their hands.

Break times are inconsistent, and sometimes you may miss out on one, however they do compensate for it.

Management doesn't seem to recognize effort put in, prepare to work for years without any evaluations or raises

What is the best part of working at the company?
Nothing at all.  Terrible, unhealthy environment.  Do not expect to have a homelife.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Walking in the door.  Turn around immediately.  There's a reason they have people quit by first break.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Very toxic.  Management shows ZERO empathy for any employees.  The odd diamond in the rough in terms of the people you meet but other than that don't bother.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
My normal shift was 12hrs despite scheduling for 8 and you would be written up if you didn't work every hour they told you too.  Holidays included.  Had to plan 6 months in advance to not work six 12 hr days in December.  They still tried to fight it then chastised me upon my return.

A typical day in the plant I was at consisted of everyone complaining about their jobs after standing around for about 20-30 minutes waiting for the unorganized mess to get sorted out before the line would start once the line started you are expected to just know what to do yourself and when your not fast enough the old rude person that you inevitably will end up working with instead of giving you a chance to learn they just get upset and bad mouth you to the boss after figuring out one spot you get put on another never being shown or explained anything everyone is upset all the time and rude management acts like they care and are willing to help but they aren’t My complaints were never acknowledged after being treated badly and blamed I became frustrated and spoke out more and the. I was immediately fired

This has got to be the worst place I've ever worked I treat their employees like garbage, they expect you to work overtime and if you don't though fire you there's a constant fear of being fired hovering over you all the time supervisors for the most are not approachable and the owners are cheap arrogant and rude they hire everyone on a 6-month contract, well they did when I was there you can bust your butt do the best job you can probably do and there's still no guarantee you'll have a job after 6 months and they'll find every excuse to get rid of you, they made me miserable stressed and unappreciated the worst coming I've ever worked for.

I was going to leave when the old owners ran it, what a mess, then the new company management took over and things began to improve this spring and summer. They make things better each week, wages are fair and better. Work conditions and hours and way better. They have better standards for working together- no bad behavior only treat each other respectfully. Its so much better, a real family oriented company. Lots of people have been promoted from inside the company as they grow. The new VP listens and talks to you. He cares about the employees. I love it here now.  Thank god it changed.

Overall, I had a great experience working at Leadbetter Foods. I really enjoyed the staff and management team. The days can be long, but it’s a great place if you’re looking to work hard and make money. The team is always supportive, and even if someone doesn’t have the answer right away, they’re always willing to help or point you in the right direction. Overall, I truly enjoyed my time working with the team and appreciated the, supportive environment.

You start on probation and they will fire you before your 3 months for  anything, no warning letter or verbal warning. They do not give you a chance to properly learn the job. They give you an employee handbook but there are unwritten rules that they will fire you for that are not in the book and that no one tells you about including your manager. The language in the offer letter is a big red flag, you can tell they do this often and try and protect themselves. 

Rushed to plant floor without proper training, Production Manager is always in aggressive mode.

Don't have sanitation worker for day shift QA is expected to clean the condensation on the  ceiling and refill the sanitation chemicals and tissue papper. Its ridiculous. Just look somewhere else
