I was an employee of 3 years and I had to leave due to poor treatment and not being paid properly. I've requested to be paid for extra time I worked (ie: over 30min late due to weather, late due to children misbehaving, late if you had to bring students back to school) and I denied each time. They said "Sorry, but things happen". Well, I worked for free and I didn't like that very much.

-They also aren't very organized between departments and give you all the answers in meetings. 

-If you're sick, they guilt trip you into working by saying "we have no one to cover you". They don't care if you're sick. They want you to work regardless.

-They give you the run around and keep you hanging 

-They're rude to you if they feel you're taking up too much of their time 

-They were rude to you at times over the two way radio 

-Certain managers were just down right nasty saying things you shouldn't say to people 

-Toxic work environment. Very clicky 


Highly underpaid. Highly irregular payment system.
Pay is terrible
We were not paid for so many things and timings and parts of run not paid.
Bit of a bait and switch
 I couldn’t afford to stay. They know this....
But sad because I loved my runs, the kids and most of the admin staff. Now moved into.
Very real.
Too much restriction and lack of insight by the consortium. 
Who don’t grasp the real world of bus drivers on the road.
To be real.
Leuschen was great, 1st Students or similar name I forget.  brought them out and many bus companies.



If you enjoy working with children and don't mind early hours and cold weather then bus driving can be very rewarding.  Personally I love my kids on my route.  The company as with any company has it perks and has its low points.  Most of the other drivers are great to work with but there are a few bad apples which you find in most places.  There are standards that need to be followed and management follows them strictly.  Overall I have enjoyed my experience at Leuschin.


You basically wake up early to do a pre-trip, start your bus early because it takes a while to warm up. Do your morning run and then you have the morning off. Afternoon run starts about 2p.m. and you're done by 4-4:30. You get weekends, holidays, summers, and snow days off. Perfect for a parent who needs to work around their children. They're not accommodating if your children are at a certain school.

I liked that I was able to take my children with me in the bus as they were too little to go to school yet. 
However, if your child is sick or if you are they don’t care. They will guilt you in to coming in saying they have no one who can cover. So you are expected to drive the bus no matter how sick or what type of meds you are on. After driving for them I would never put my kids on their bus.  
Safety is not first with them. 

a relaxed atmosphere for the most part.. we have staff meetings to discuss things or bring out any issues to deal with or explain new policies or procedures , if any issues we can call into office for help or support ...
 i like that we get gift cards each month if we don't miss a day of work... 
 i am a person with disabilities and the company accepted me and my limitations , we work around them.. 

I call perspective employees and onboard them
I manage the Employee Relations Committee
I do Event Planning for Retention
I also cover runs as needed.
My favourite part of the job is the interaction with applicants
What I love about my job is that I'm not micromanaged.

Great people to work with and great communication 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Dealing with crazy children and having to handle traffic too

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Positive and very welcoming. I always feel accepted when I go into the office

Leuschen Transportation is a great place to start or to finish you career in the mechanical field or just be a bus drive. They offer many great perks and many different opportunities.

No communication between departments 
They give you all the answers in training
The consortium developed routes that are impossible to meet. They changed them every couple of months.
This takes money away from a drivers
