Lionbridge provides exactly what they advirtised - the opportunity to work on small remote projects from whichever location you choose. For each project you will get instructions, will do a test or sometimes two and get started for the project's period.
It is great choice for some extra income at times, but tou never know when the next opportunity is coming, so you can not plan your other arrangements accordingly. Sometimes the projects offered start very quickly and sometimes one needs to wait.

There is almost never any tasks available, so it is virtually impossible to actually work. There is no job security at all, as you can be let go at any point in time with no explanation and no way to inquire or appeal the decision. 

Instructions for the tasks are always confusing, contradictive, and changing. It is not possible to anticipate the desired ratings given this utterly flawed system.

What is the best part of working at the company?
The work was a bit redundant but overall fun and benefits were great. Very nice and understanding manager and team leader (Canada team). Nice collaboration with coworkers on MS Teams.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Meeting the productivity standards (a minimum of words per hour).

Overall nice and understanding

Really enjoy working for Lionbridge, they really take the time to ensure that their employees get ample time to train and stay up to date with the guidelines used for Rating.  They provide constant feedback on your work, which I really appreciated, so that I knew where I needed to spend more time practicing or reading guidelines.

Great team, energy and dynamics, however the production rhythm combined with the quality expected is stressful. You are expected to be a productive asset.

Decrepit and unsafe office, complete failure as a business, general culture of incompetence.  They are now trying to hire foreigners for half of minimum wage as translation reviewers, and they tell their clients they only hire professionals. The entire management team should be in prison.

If you have trouble managing your time this isn't for you. You get paid by task not by the hour and if you don't know the textbook you by heart you can make half of what they state.

However if you do your homework this can be an amazing opportunity .

9-5 job in an office performing standard translation and post-editing tasks.

Tight deadlines.
Good communication with coworkers.

Working from home, good salary, good communication with the team and supervisors.
Flexible schedule, good equipment for remote working, if you like video games and translations, it is a good company to work.

Lionbridge Canada provided me with a great first experience in my field. I would definitely recommend it to people looking to start out in the world of translation.
