I would strongly advise anyone considering employment with Lovisa  to think carefully before accepting a position.

The training process is extremely disorganized and inadequate. New employees are thrown into their roles without proper onboarding, structure, or clear guidance. There is little support provided, which makes it difficult to succeed or even understand expectations.

The lack of organization starts at the top. Upper management demonstrates poor leadership and ineffective communication. Instructions are often unclear, expectations shift without explanation, and there is no consistent structure in place to properly run the business. This creates confusion and frustration among staff.

Professionalism from leadership is also lacking. Upper management does not consistently present themselves in a polished or professional manner, which sets a poor tone for the company and reflects negatively on the overall workplace culture. Leadership should model the standards they expect from their employees, and that standard is simply not there.

Favoritism within the company is noticeable and creates an unfair work environment. Performance and hard work do not appear to be the primary factors in how employees are treated or recognized.

Additionally, employees are expected to pay for supplies out of their own pocket, with little to no reimbursement from the company. Staff should not be responsible for covering operational costs personally.

Overall, the company is disorganized, poorly managed, and lacks the professionalism necessary to create a healthy work environment. I would not recommend working here if you value proper training, clear communication, fairness, and strong leadership.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Managers don't do their jobs, multiple people have had problems with them. They gossip to other workers about you, they blame you for their mistakes and generally just don't respect you.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Bad, nothing is organized or communicated between co workers, they say one thing and switch up last second.  Never enjoyed a single day working there.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
When i started working they barely train you. They stick you with the most recent hire who knows nothing about what they're doing or just don't care enough to fully help you.  Customers would steal all the time, managers made you clock out at a certain time even though you still had to work late, so they didn't pay you.

This was one of the most unprofessional work environments I have experienced. There is little to no structured training provided, yet employees are expected to perform flawlessly from the first day. The lack of onboarding sets new staff up for failure rather than success.
Management does not provide adequate guidance or support, and communication is inconsistent. Instead of encouraging growth, the environment drowns your energy and confidence.
Significant improvements are needed in leadership, accountability, and employee training. Until these issues are addressed, I would not recommend this workplace to others seeking a supportive or well-organized environment.

If you have another job offer, don’t choose lovisa to work for at all. High employee turnover, unprofessional upper management, unfair pay. They use sales associates to do management jobs with minimum wage. Managers should work in multiple locations because always they have multiple stores with out manager. Super easy hiring process, is enough to be manager in a cafe to hire you as district manager. And if you be Cruel  enough with your team, you will become state manager in one year. Low budget company with high expectations. 

Management is dismal, only difference between Store Manager and Stylist is the title and the pay– we’re all doing the same job. Part timers were hired to work cash while full timers and managers focused on customers and took care of operations (ie. opening and closing). However 1 part timer will close alone and is expected to clean, count cash systems, and fill out deposits and paperwork in 30 minutes. I can count on 2 hands the amount of times I’ve seen Store Managers close alone… it would be easier to work as a cashier at McDonalds… you would be getting paid the same and could probably get better hours and wouldn’t be alone.

I worked here for almost a year, and I can say it was the worst experience ever. We had about two managers, and the first one was chill but did not know a lot of stuff. The second one was rude, picked favourites, and made you feel very uncomfortable. The managers and direct managers are generally bullies; they make you feel terrible about yourself. You don't get proper training, and if you make a mistake, they write you up or treat you badly instead of helping you improve. I would not recommend this job to anyone unless you are DESPERATE!

Management is a joke. The manager and assistant manager sit in the back watching Netflix while getting paid, and the rest of us are left doing all the work for minimum wage. There’s no support, no respect, and no appreciation. On top of that, the company is biased; they play favorites and treat people unfairly. You’re expected to do your job plus theirs, while they do nothing. I wasted almost two years here, and it was a complete nightmare. This company does not care about its workers, only about squeezing out free labor. Avoid this place at all costs. 

My experience at Lovisa was quite negative. The store was very disorganized, and the work environment often felt stressful and overwhelming. There was a lot of pressure despite the minimum-wage pay, and communication from management could have been better. Many employees didn’t stay long because of these conditions. I hope the company improves organization and support for staff in the future.

Worst place to work!!! They hired a store manager who doesn’t know how to talk to employees!!!very rude and messed up workplace

The people of management  were not helpful at all!! They pay only minimum but expect you to do so much

Very stressful and toxic. The vibe was just awful
