I’ve never imagined that there is a possibility of working in this kind of environment in Canada.
The majority of the staff are immigrants with poor language skills and no experience in this field with just few exceptions. Really hard to communicate with them although they are the trainers for the new hires.
Working conditions are not good. No breaks, no supervision, no consistency to the guidelines and the policy. Poor and incompetent management.
Unfortunately all this affects the residents accommodation quality.
Avoid this facility if you can. It could easily belong to a country of the third world.

Working with Residents is never a problem. Its the stressful co-workers that always find fault from other co-workers. Management doesn’t really resolve the root cause of the stress that has been going on with their staff.
The Job itself is jot hard.  But its the co-workers that brings stress.  
After working with LutherCare Communities for almost 2 months they just told me “sorry we cannot pay for your position anymore, we cannot sustain paying for your position.” Simply saying goodbye and no help support in giving me another job. NOT A GOOD PLACE TO WORK WITH

I had many diverse duties - office work, computer work, staff training, doing activities with residents. I learned many things about how to work with people and what makes them do the things they do. The management was very supportive and helpful. I enjoyed working with the other administrative staff as well as care aides, housekeepers etc. The hardest part of the job was disciplining staff. The most enjoyable part was interacting with residents.

What is the best part of working at the company?
Working with the special needs residents in the group homes.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
No support from upper management.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
They hire people with no experience or education in the field. So it’s very stressful for group home managers with no supports from the company upper departments.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
It was mainly like walking on egg shells.

I am a volunteer at this home care facility. 
I volunteer whenever i can as much as possible. 
The staff is amazing and very understanding.
It has enabled me to give back to the community a little and a good experience in my career path.

 There  are opportunities for advancement depending on your interests, expertise and education . There are a variety of workplace roles to fulfill. Employee benefits are mainly for full time employment with minimal perks for part time work. 

Managers are very supportive. Very warm and caring atmosphere. I've learned a lot in my position here, and am sad to leave. I would recommend LutherCare Communities as a great place to work!

Excellent workplace, good coworkers and very flexible work week for the server position. This is my first job and it is a great place to start. I would highly recommend for university/high school students

Positive work environment. The staff are helpful to new employees. A very rewarding job. Good company culture and management are helpful and respectful.

When I worked here quite some time ago, the way employees were treated was less than ideal. There was little care by management for staff or residents.
