What is the best part of working at the company?
The team I was part of. My colleagues were supportive, and shared in the joy and motivation serving the Métis Citizens we represented with integrity and respect. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Ineffective management. A management team that consistently contradicted itself, whether through micromanagement, or behaviour that was advantageous and manipulative. Staff drive and values were consistently used against them to push personal boundaries and foster a work environment that perpetuated unhealthy work-life balance and the perception that staff were to be available at any time, day or night - staff personal time was no longer theirs.

There was a complete lack of clear guidence and support, and no onboarding plan for new staff. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Toxic - manipulative - advantageous - lacking structure and guidence - focused on optics versus meaningful results. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Fast paced - unstructured if derailed by managements ineffective direction/requests.

The work environment is stressful, requiring you to handle multiple tasks simultaneously. It involves not just office work but also physically demanding tasks. I learned a lot, especially through working with federal organizations in Canada on various projects. However, the higher management is terrible, although your experience may depend on the personality of your team manager.

The work culture is also poor, as employees are constantly kept on duties, and forming friendships with coworkers is discouraged, leading to a lack of unity in the workplace. The hardest part of the job is simply surviving, even if you are highly skilled and complete your responsibilities on time, due to dealing with external challenges.

The most enjoyable part is the opportunity to attend different annual events.

There is very little structure on a typical day and staff usually gets freedom in tackling tasks as they see fit.  They are very lenient with break times and time-off requests

I learned about processing payroll, doing reconciliations, completing year-end audit processes, and calculating multi-million dollar claims

Management was very distant and hardly ever kept staff informed of deadlines and expectations.  Dealing with them was definitely the hardest part of the job.  We were often left to solve problems with inadequate training and minimal support.

I did learn a lot there and for that, the experience was worthwhile and can be carried forward into bigger and better things.

The organization has good intentions and a worthwhile mission, but significant leadership and operational issues limit its effectiveness.
Management lacks accountability, communication is poor, and employee engagement appears low. It was particularly discouraging to attend a meeting organized by leadership where the manager leading the session is falling  asleep, which reflected a concerning lack of professionalism and respect for staff.
HR is also ineffective and often fails to address employee concerns in a timely or meaningful way, leaving employees feeling unsupported.
The organization would benefit from a major overhaul of its management practices, leadership accountability, and HR function. Until these issues are addressed, employee morale and organizational performance are likely to continue suffering.

There are no typical days, the micro-managing is insane, nobody knows what they're doing from one day to the next.
I have learned that your days are numbered if you don't cater to their political antics, which is daily.
Management is hand-picked from a select group of family/friends of the president only, educated or not. No room for advancement in any department. Toxic micro-managing each department are clueless.
The workplace is very toxic, lots of gossiping, coordinators are uneducated, unprofessional, verbally abusive, show favoritism.
Hardest part of the job was all the overtime, staggering workloads with no help, expectations were ridiculously high with no empathy, ever.

You will bond with your co-workers over the awfulness and cluelessness of your managers.

Essentially, no one is qualified for the tasks that they do, especially management. This causes a very chaotic workplace where things change on a dime and complex tasks that require significant time investment are expected to be completed quickly. The result is 5-8 worthless publications per year at the cost of 2-3 great ones. They are also very resistant to change despite claiming the opposite. 

The reviews here are accurate; it is not a great place to be but it is better than no job, and it was a place to gain job experience. 

What is the best part of working at the company?
During covid they offered free lunch to the people that came into the office daily.

The politics and constant stress of being told downsizing is coming.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Stressful, political, and cut throat.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Show up at the office, report to security, go to my desk, wait for a stressful meeting that will end with passive aggressive or full on aggressive comments.

Worked here with very little training, basically self taught position protocols, equipment, etc… Heard employees gossiping about one another ALL OF THE TIME, was approached aggressively by fellow employees, belittled, wasn’t allowed to use washroom unless they said so, blamed for EVERYTHING that went wrong, presidents cronies did nothing but take cigarette breaks, shop, order hundreds of dollars daily on lunch, etc …JUST A TERRIBLY TOXIC PLACE OF EMPLOYMENT. 

Wonderful experience. 
Lack of Training. 
Shady environment.
Lack of resources. 
Lack of tools to get jobs done. 
Lack of efficiency. 
Very dirty bathroom floors.

Very high potential for the company, if only they would give their skilled employees the tools to succeed.

It cannot be assumed that because the skills are there they can find their own way. 

Set up for failure.

This is the worst place I have ever worked at. The culture is toxic, people within and outside departments lie and hide things from one another. "Family" is hired and paid to do nothing besides sit around. Nothing was communicated clearly during covid, not positive cases not even a single policy... You are not given the tools to do your job at all, most are set up to fail. The way finances are handled is "shady" to say the least. Avoid at all costs...
