Friendly atmosphere, collaborative workers, supportive department manager.  Your work is appreciated.  Work can have some very busy periods followed by slower periods. 
Many people can effectively work from home now so 1- 1/2 hr commute has been removed.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
working on reports, collaborating with colleagues

Local team and management are top notch. The problem is management in Brampton who decided to implement a vaccine mandate for stupid reasons. 6 months later still on unpaid leave..no benefits...even denied earned rrsp contributions and the ability to take earned accumulated vacation. Totally illogical punishment. Minimal loyalty to an 8+ year team member. Tread carefully.

MDA has a very positive and supportive work environment. Coworkers and management are respectful and kind. However, low compensation and a lack of growth/opportunities makes it difficult to build a long-term career. Good stepping stone to experience and learn new skills.

Coworkers are great. A lot of cool projects. Lots to learn. The executive team is badly out of touch and very heavy handed. Very low raises, make sure you negotiate for as much as possible when you’re hired because your “raises” will be less than inflation.

MDA Richmond is a software business, where it looks like software business: casual and with "not standard" type of managers (no tie).

The people who work at MDA-Richmond do it for the interesting type of work: satellite, drone, submarine, ground station, etc..

MDA is a good company to work for if you are an engineer. It offers job security. The management is good and up to date with the current  work  challenges.

There is no doubt that the project work is interesting, but the wages do not match the industry standard. It is unfortunate because if they did, they would have not lost so many great engineers over the years.

Be prepared to work a lot of overtime. Projects are fun and challenging and the people are great to work with. The have a full-fledge cafe and all the free coffee you can drink.
