In my first six months as a project manager here, I've been struck by how much I learn every single day. My typical day involves coordinating across multiple sites, which initially was challenging because so much happens remotely. But the team solved this the right way - we built in regular site visits and structured meeting cadences that actually work. Beyond that, I get exposed to financial analysis, strategy conversations, and decision-making at levels I didn't expect in an operations role. There's real variety, which keeps things interesting.


What surprised me most is the team itself. Most staff here have been around for a decade or more, which creates genuine institutional knowledge. They're not cynical about that tenure either - they're actually invested in helping new people succeed. The CEO sets the tone for this. He listens to ideas and is genuinely willing to explore them, which creates a kind of psychological safety you don't always feel in healthcare.


On culture, I'll be honest: I wouldn't call this change-hungry in a startup sense, but no one here says no to technology or new processes. They're adaptive. There's no "we've always done it this way" mentality blocking progress. The company is also building a comprehensive training system on top of what already works, which shows intentionality about scaling.


The hardest part was honestly the ramp-up period dealing with geographically dispersed sites and limited in-person time early on. But once we established the right cadence, it resolved. If you're considering this role and need to be fully remote, that's worth knowing - there's meaningful travel involved.

Recently was laid off for “operational reasons” by my manager who, a week before, described my work 3 days before as “brilliant” and “clever”. Overall, I liked my manager but didn’t find them to be very courageous in expressing and demonstrating a level of control and confidence in their role. 

For what it’s worth, I am grateful for the opportunity to have worked somewhere after being in another industry for over 10 years. I appreciate the opportunity they gave me to prove myself - and I did, without question. I was able to learn some interesting dimensions and details of our healthcare industry however that is where this employment experience seems to be a benefit to me.  

However, with respect, I found the leadership regarding sales and marketing a complete shambles. After reading the reviews of this company I can see this is an intrinsic systemic issue and nothing related to me or my skills. A lot of the business decisions that concerned me were not clear, and the hierarchy was not respected or enforced to how larger strategy was to be executed to address a dysfunctional marketing model. There was much sycophancy amongst higher level leadership around the CEO and their decisions, and lack of ability to regain control with lower level sales staff and their inability to update an approach to a highly competitive market. 

I suppose the state they are in is because of the state they are in on the west coast. 

I appreciate the opportunity to have worked here but I think some reflection on how to be more effective on the ground comes from the top leadership. Good game.  Thanks for the opportunity. 

I had the displeasure of working for this company for 3 years.

They will cancel your shift if they can't fill beds and pay you the lowest they can for your position and not give you raises even after paying out of pocket and passing RPSGT test and training (becoming certified). Shifts are not gaurenteed as I have had shifts taken away for no reason. There is no room for advancement at all. 

Company is extremely cheap and fails to replace basic equipment, lights in rooms, temperature monitors, cameras, old programs etc. 

The company is dangerously booking patients at high risk for severe COVID-19 symptoms and running at max possible capacity to fill beds to make money rather than spending money to run at home studies or have fewer patients for a safer environment. 

Training is close to non existent as they load techs with excessive work making it difficult to have time to properly train potential employees. Techs are given no increased pay for training new employees and are expected to train said employees throughout their night of studies leaving little time for actual education or training. 

This company is just hiring new graduates and paying them poorly for stressful night work with no benefits and locking them in an 18 month contract, and if you leave the contract early you have to pay the company $4,000.

I would not recommend working for Medsleep in any capacity, nor would I advise anyone to be a patient of medsleep after what I have witnessed during my time as an employee. 



Staff retention is a recurring challenge, with many employees leaving within their first six months. Those who stay longer are often promoted to managerial roles, primarily to address the ongoing need for recruiting and training new hires.

Leadership could benefit from more consistent communication and transparency. Employees have expressed concerns about favoritism, which seems to influence decisions regarding promotions and recognition. The CEO’s limited presence is noted, with visits typically occurring once a year for a management lunch. Some staff feel this does not adequately address team-building or operational needs.

There is room for improvement in staff morale and support. This past year lacked a holiday party or other meaningful recognition events, and employees have to work with outdated equipment that frequently malfunctions. Support for resolving equipment issues is minimal, creating additional stress for the team.

Some management teams, particularly in the West Coast region, could enhance their professionalism and approachability. Employees have reported feeling unsupported in training and team development, and there’s a noticeable lack of trust within the workplace culture.

Overall, the work environment presents significant challenges, and many employees feel that improvements in leadership, support, and workplace culture would make a meaningful difference.

I worked front desk, typical reception work 9-5. 

However, there were only 2 front desk workers (myself and 1 other person). They were not searching for one more person. No back up plan if one of us were to be sick while the other was on vacation. Management was absent and gave minimal training. I was not here for too long but the turnover was unbelievable, my manager was only working there for 1-2 years and working with me for 3 months before being let go. Due to lack of training and poor management, patient care was not up to par. When this would happen the physician's would take it out on the front desk, meanwhile, we were not trained properly (and of course management was not accountable). They don't care about if you have to stay overtime to ensure beds in the clinic were filled. I was paid only 50 cents above minimum wage. When COVID came around, they did not provide laptops or any compensation. 

No benefits, no room for growth, management is poor.

Good stepping stone into the industry, but horrible long-term.  

The clinic that I worked at became a part of Medsleep. At first impression it felt like a hostile take over which I believe is a normal reaction for most people who are comfortable with how things are currently run. Then a new ownership comes and slowly make some adjustments to what you are used to. Changes sucks I know but a part of life.

     If you actually give the company the time so that you can get to know how they run their clinics and how they do things; you will actually find that they are fair and just. There is a lot of here about Medsleep but you should check it out for yourself and be the judge of that.

   As for me. I am quite happy and content and thankful that I have a career and a job with Medsleep which helps provide for my family. Thank you Medsleep for giving me the opportunity to be part of this great team.

I would not recommend working at MedSleep. The management culture is toxic, with little regard for employee well-being or professional development. Pay is well below industry standards, and any opportunities for advancement seem tied more to personal favoritism than to merit—especially when it comes to currying favour with the CEO.

There are also serious concerns about the ethics of certain business practices. Employees are often pressured to comply without question, and those who do are rewarded with what can only be described as “hush bonuses.” It’s not an environment that encourages critical thinking or growth; instead, you’re expected to stay quiet and fall in line.

If you’re looking for meaningful experience or to develop skills applicable in a broader healthcare setting, this is not the place. Save yourself the frustration and look elsewhere.


I have been with the company for 7 and a half years... when I applied, I only intended to stay for a year before going back to school, but the supportive environment, the relaxed and fun atmosphere, with the challenging and interesting work kept me on board! In my time, I have had many opportunities for growth and was supported by my managers to achieve growth, promotions and pay raises. I have noticed that the people who really take initiative and are supportive of their colleagues are the ones who are rewarded and shine! This is exactly the nurturing and fun environment I always hoped for in a career! The company and the senior managers really care about making their staff happy and making this a positive work environment. Now, I have no intentions of leaving.

The best part about working for MedSleep is the AWESOME management team who are always there for you by consistently providing outstanding support. Work is relaxed and fun with a focus on a healthy work/life balance. The staff and physicians are wonderful to work with and feel more like family than co-workers. You're fairly compensated for your efforts with bonuses and quarterly recognition awards being given out to staff who excel in their role. There's also a company wide focus on learning and they provide plenty of opportunities for professional development. Sleep is an up-and-coming industry and with MedSleep as the Canadian leader, there will be plenty of work in the future.

I began working for MedSleep right after I completed my BA in Psychology. It was a great opportunity for me to explore my interest in psych as well as develop my interpersonal skills. This job definitely helped me to become a more outgoing person as it involves a lot of people interaction-both with patients and doctors.  The clinic environment was always a pleasure to work in-each day offered something new and interesting to learn, and the days never felt routine or boring. 

I worked for this company for almost three years and I would definitely reccomend it to anyone. My manager was a great source of support, and the doctors and my coworkers were all a pleasure to work with. If you’re looking for an energetic, friendly, and interesting work environment, then MedSleep is the company for you!
